With the second book in The Fortunes of Texas: The Hotel Fortune series Helen Lacey delights her readers with a single mom meets rugged stranger story in THEIR SECOND-TIME VALENTINE. The characters were super easy to like, the back story was intriguing and the sweet connection between them made the book hard to put down. Loved it!
Layla is a determined, hard working single mom. She’s not looking for love, but it strikes when she least expects it, and she doesn’t know what to do.
Kane is a gentle soul. He knows Layla isn’t over her late husband, but he’s got a heart kind enough to be patient and just love her. Loved how little Erin adored him!
I highly recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who loves a small-town feel with close-knit families and friends as a mystery flits through the background of the connected series.
