She’s the one woman I can’t let myself want.

Molly McAllister is my best friend’s widow, a single mom trying to keep her flower farm alive, and the last person in this small town who should look twice at me.

I ride bulls for a living. My body’s a battered mess with my heart in even worse shape. I’m carrying enough scars—inside and out—to know I don’t deserve someone like her.

But when she ends up laid up with a broken ankle, I’m the one who shows up to help. I’m supposed to be the guy she hates. Hell, I’ve given her plenty of reasons. Instead, I’m the one carrying her up the damn stairs and flipping pancakes for her twins like I belong in her kitchen. In her life. Her bed.

She thinks I’ve come to take her land. The truth? Every time I look at her, I’m in danger of handing her my heart.

She’s sunshine and second chances. I’m storm clouds and bad decisions.

We’re supposed to be enemies. But the longer I’m in her world, the harder I fall. Fast, deep, and way past the point of no return. If I’m not careful, I could lose more than my heart…I might lose her, too.

Heartwarming and emotionally driven! The fourth book in Major’s Skylark Series is pulling all the punches and delivering on warmth, adorableness and angst all in one delicious story! The characters each have a back story that is interesting and has you liking them individually and then when you see them together and especially with her twin kiddos, you feel the connection between them. A well developed set up leads us on a journey of a lifetime as he’s there to help whether she wants it or not and it doesn’t take her long to realize he’s not the guy she thought. I really enjoyed their pull on each other and the way the kids warmed their hearts and made them realize what there was right in front of them. Emotional and satisfying! I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone wanting a small town romance with lots of heart and endearing characters!

The Huntsman is after me.
But he will be mine first.

Nine years ago, my aunt took everything from me.

My world. My throne. My mother.

I’ve bided my time since then, serving under her in the Mwuaji crime family, but she’s crossed another line. She put a price on my head, sending the legendary assassin the Huntsman, Malachi Bowden, after me.

The Huntsman’s never failed a contract before, but I know everything there is to know about him. It’s finally time for me to take my revenge and finish the war my aunt started.

The Huntsman might be my death. But Malachi Bowden?

He’s my weakness.

Welcome to The Hunted Kingdom.

Attention grabbing characters! I’ve been reading Naima Simone for years and years and she knows how to create a world that intrigues and delights. She builds a back story that nabs the readers attention very quickly and settles us quickly into the heart of the story. I typically love when her sass and spice spills into the dialogue and characterization, but this story felt a bit over the top in several ways. The over abundance of slang and and overstimulation of scenes became distracting from the core of the story. I felt a connection with the characters and wanted to see it through to the end and see them get their happily ever after, but it was hard to hang in there at times. I feel if the story had been more succinct and with less over-zealous distraction intermixed, it would have delivered a more satisfying product. The setting felt more dark royal kingdom than mafia den like. Overall, I was connected to the core characters and did enjoy aspects of their relationship and seeing them get redemption in various ways in the end. That said, I doubt I will pick up the next book in the series based on the exasperation of the writing style and setting of this one.

She just jilted my teammate at the altar and I helped her escape. We don’t get along, but I’ll keep her safe … and pray she never learns how I really feel about her.

Summer

I can’t marry him.

I have no good reason to jilt my hockey player fiancé, except that the closer we get to the big day, the more I feel myself shrinking to a hollow shell. Two minutes after I slip into the church bathroom to calm my pre-wedding jitters, I jump out the window to make my escape …

… and land on Hatch Kershaw, my fiancé’s teammate on the Chicago Rebels.

This guy has always hated me for reasons I can’t fathom. Half the time he looks right through me, like I’m no better than the ice shavings on his skate blades. The other half? That brooding green gaze strips me bare and sees right into my soul.

Neither option is good for me, so I really shouldn’t want his help … should I?

Hatch

The bride hit me like a ton of bricks.

The last thing I expected was for my teammate’s bride to ask for my help in fleeing her wedding. Make that the second last—even more unexpected is that I said “yes.” Before I know it, I’ve driven her to my family’s vacation home because I’m a nice guy and she needs to catch her breath.

Only now, I can’t breathe around her.

Summer Landry and I have never hit it off, so why the hell am I going along with this madness? Every stolen glance and accidental touch tell me she’s off-limits, while each torturous second with her in our lakeside hideaway has me questioning everything I thought I knew about who she is and what she’s hiding.

No one can know what I did—not my teammate, not my family, not the media—or all hell will break loose. Most of all, Summer can never know why I dislike her so much.

Because if she did, I might not recover.

Summer and Hatch were quick to steal my heart! The next book in Meader’s Chicago Players series once again brings us one of legendary Rebel’s player Theo Kershaw’s kids all grown up and living life one heartbreak at a time. Hatch is super easy to connect with and a real sweetheart even when he’s being broody. Summer is sweet and sincere and even though she buried her head in the sand for way too long when it came to Dash, she really does have a realistic grip on life once she starts letting her guard down and realizing her foundation really isn’t all that bad. I enjoyed them both very much and felt like they were well developed, the angst was high and the happily ever after was ideal. Highly recommend and thoroughly enjoyed!

We’ve survived the scandals.
We’ve weathered the heartbreak.
Now it’s time to choose each other.

Life with Maverick Tate has never been simple. When he storms back into my life, he brings truths that change everything.
Now, the future I thought was lost is right in front of me—if I’m brave enough to claim it.

The threats against us haven’t disappeared. The battles we’ve endured aren’t over. But this time, Maverick and I aren’t fighting against each other. We’re fighting side by side.

Together, we’ll face every obstacle and build something stronger, something unshakeable.

This time, our love isn’t the battle. It’s the victory.

Heartwarmingly addictive! With the final book in Maverick and Mckenna’s Dating the Drummer trilogy, Azzi delivers a powerful reconnection of family, love and lifelong friendships. I felt like since there was a longer gap between book 2 and 3, there should have been a bit more detail put into catching the reader up on everything that had happened with this couple as well as their friends and family previously. Once I reacquainted with them, I was quickly back to pulling for them to get their drama worked out and realize what they had right in front of them. I was satisfied with the outcome and really enjoyed going along for the ride with this whole band and their found family! Great characters, in depth emotional connections and lots of drama along the way to their happily ever afters. I highly recommend this whole trilogy as well as The Burnt Clover series before this one to anyone who enjoys a dramatic rock star series with lots of angst, love and endless friendships.

Matteo “Lucky” Branson has it all—an elite hockey career, a massive fanbase, and the kind of charm that trends effortlessly on TikTok. As the fun-loving left winger for the Pittsburgh Titans, he’s built a brand on superstition and swagger. But when a viral dating challenge puts him opposite a woman who couldn’t care less about his fame, Lucky’s about to learn the hard way that some games don’t follow the playbook.

They call me Lucky for a reason. My grandmother swears I was cursed at birth—yet somehow, I’ve been kissed by fate every day since. I’ve got my rabbit’s foot, a shamrock tattoo, and quirky rituals by the dozen—and it’s all worked so far. Life’s been smooth. Hockey, clout, fun... I’m skating through.

Until I meet Winifred Shaw. Winnie. She’s smart, bold, and laugh-out-loud funny, with a TikTok following that rivals mine and a dating challenge that’s going viral. The premise? Thirty days of dating to prove an average woman can still land a decent guy. I’m the first to accept the challenge—one night, one chance, and then she moves on. But the moment she rolls her eyes at me, I’m hooked.

She thinks I’m just another overhyped athlete with a pretty face and a lucky streak. But I see her—confident, curvy, electric—and I don’t just want a second date. I want every single one after that.

I’ve always trusted luck to get me where I need to be. But this time? I’m ready to fight for it.

Such an adorable, modern day meet cute! Tik-tok sensation and pro hockey player Matteo Branson doesn’t do serious. He’s all about numbers, success and fun … until he sees an online challenge by an influencer that instantly has him hooked and all in on getting a date. Winifred Shaw thinks Lucky’s approach to winning her over is only proof that he’s not the average guy she has her heart set on, but she is willing to give him the one date he insists on. She doesn’t count on the fact that he’s going to be the most delightful man she’s met in quite some time though. The character development in this book is satisfying and though we don’t get quite as much team interaction as we do sometimes with this group of guys, it was solid enough to carry through at a respectable speed because Lucky and Winnie are so cute together. I really enjoyed their story!

It wasn’t easy being considered the ugly friend.

She’s known since she was young that life wouldn’t be easy, and that she would have to work hard for everything she got. Life was tough when you had a face that only a mother could love.

For years, Sutton Sway goes through life knowing that she’s never going to have a happily ever after that she’s always dreamed of. So she settles. She marries not for love, but for companionship, choosing a man that she never should’ve looked twice at, all so she could have a family of her own.

That family never happens, and within a year, she’s divorced and right back where she started.

Just when she’s at her all-time low, thinking life couldn’t get much worse, in walks Gunner Penn.

Gunner Penn, her protector. The man that saved her from all her high school bullies and proved to her that there were good men in this world.

He was the man that she’d compared all other men to, and probably always would.

But he’s not the Gunner she remembers. He’s harder, less forgiving, and a whole lot less happy.
He hates everyone and everything and doesn’t care who he offends.

That hate and anger for the world and its occupants doesn’t seem to include her, though.
No, Gunner Penn doesn’t hate her at all.

In fact, he’s loved her since high school. She was just too traumatized by life to see it.
But she sees it now. She feels it. She lives and breathes it.

Gunner Penn lost her once. But he won’t lose her a second time.

Not if there’s breath left in his body.

Filled to the brim with emotion and heart! Lani Lynn Vale is the queen of wrapping a couple around a reader’s heart time and time again. Just when you think you can’t love a pair of her characters more, she comes along with the next one to steal your adoration away … but I don’t mind being fickle on occasion! If you’ve been reading along with her always entertaining Content Advisory series, you will recognize the hero of this story from Audric’s story. Gunnar has had a lot of turmoil in his life, but the precious cargo he was handed recently has changed his life for the better. Running into Sutton after all of these years only adds to his enjoyment of current times. I loved their connection from the past, and the fact that they still feel the draw to each other rather quickly. Lots of drama, equal amounts of sass and so much love all around their world makes for a really great read. I’m loving the guys of this series so much and the women they fall head over heals for are simply perfect additions to the fam. Can’t wait for Apollo’s story!

My hockey career's final chapter is writing itself. I'm thirty-five now, and with retirement looming, I'm desperate to make this season count—even if it means playing in L.A., the last city I ever wanted to call home.

Then Billie crashes into my life.

She's sunshine personified—more than ten years younger and my teammate's little sister.

Every instinct screams she's forbidden territory.

But one taste of her changes everything.

The chemistry between us is undeniable, explosive.

I know I should walk away, but I can't.

If her brother discovers us, I stand to lose more than just her—my career could end before I'm ready to hang up my skates.

Forbidden love at it’s best! Kat Mizera is bringing on all the temptation for the final book in her showstopper L.A. Phantoms hockey series. This series as a whole has been really heartfelt and addictive and I will miss it wholeheartedly. I am thrilled to see a spinoff on it’s way though that will have Bodi front and center. This particular book was filled with family drama, life decisions and a sweet and sexy love story. Billie loves her brother Bodi, but she has had just about all of his overprotectiveness that she can stand. Falling for his temporary roomie and teammate probably wasn’t her best idea … but it was sexy as all get out! I loved Rome and was really rooting for him to get a true happily ever after this time. Billie was sincere and wise beyond her years and brought the best out in him. Loved them and their happily ever after! I hope we’ll hear more about them in Bodi’s story early next year. Great characters, well developed drama and addictive … highly recommend!

I should have known everything was going to change when she walked into my tattoo shop...

Timid as hell and gorgeous to the extreme. I knew better than even thinking about touching a woman like that.

My life is dangerous.

My calling wicked.

Willing to cross any line to protect the innocent.

I thought I’d never see her again until my little boy tumbled and busted his lip, and I found her working at the doctor’s office.

The woman who’d taken possession of my thoughts.

When it becomes clear she’s in trouble, I offer up a deal.

Twenty questions to earn her trust.

Too bad trusting me is the last thing she should do.

With one kiss, I’m addicted. With one night, we’re falling into a passion greater than either of us has ever known.

The voices in my head warn I can never keep her. She can’t know the secret life I lead.

Only she’s keeping a secret, too.

And I’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe, even if it means losing everything…

I was hooked on these two tormented souls from the very second their eyes met! Tattoo artist River Tayte had never reacted to a woman the way he did when Charleigh Lowe walked into his shop late one night. He knew his secrets were too big to act on his attraction to this skittish woman, but fate felt differently when it had them crossing paths again shortly after. Their attraction burns too hot to ignore, but he knows he can’t take her into the secret life that surrounds him … until her own secrets come knocking on the door and threaten to unravel everything for both of them. The characters are addictive and we slowly learn the things about both of them that are hidden and what uncovering them means for their future. There are a couple of really big twists that really rock the turn out and you do NOT want to miss what happens! Well developed plot and characters and a great brotherhood that this series revolves around. I loved every minute of their story!

As snow falls over the small town of Kearny, the body of a young woman lies on the frozen ground. Her unblinking eyes stare out across the mountain top, and a wave of crimson-red blood seeps into the white blanket where she rests.

When residents discover a body on the slopes of a popular ski resort, Detective Delaney Pace and Sheriff Leo Palmer are first to investigate. Delaney scans her surroundings, and among the panic-stricken crowd she spots a man fleeing through the trees.

Delaney and Leo race after the suspect, following the tracks he left in his wake. But when the pair are separated, Delaney makes a heart-stopping discovery: a make-shift graveyard at an abandoned lodge deep in the forest. Immediately she knows there are more victims—and Leo’s radio has gone dead…

With the sheriff missing and the risk of more lives being taken, Delaney works fast to capture the twisted killer. But her mission grinds to a halt when a ghost from her past sends her a chilling message: Do as I say, if you want to see Leo again.

Desperate to save the man she loves, Delaney faces the shocking realisation that this whole thing was planned. She knows who’s responsible—and how dangerous they are. If she follows the orders she could lose her life, but if she doesn’t, she could lose Leo. Will she catch the killer in time? Or will she pay the ultimate price?

Exhilarating and oh so twisty! We can always count on Detective Delaney Pace to put her heart into whatever case crosses her path, and this one carries even more of her heart than usual. Skeletons from her past end up crossing her path as she’s on the hunt for a killer, when Sheriff Leo disappears in a snow covered wilderness and she’s the only one who can find him in time.

There were several different cases merging together here as the bad guys intermingled and cases from the past also came back to haunt them. I enjoyed the case as a whole, but the back and forth timeline was really draining on trying to keep facts straight. I also felt a distance between Delaney and her home life more than usual, so I would have liked to have seen a little downtime with the girls either before it all kicked up or after they were back home to let things mellow a bit and show the softer sides more.

Overall a very interesting read with crumbs left behind to lead into the next book. I’m always looking forward to a return visit with Delaney and the gang!

Love. Loyalty. Family.

Pike Moore never had an easy life. Between his criminal father and heartless mother, Pike didn’t think he’d ever know love until he met Gigi Gallo. But when Pike’s father tracks him down and brings trouble with him, Pike will do anything to keep his woman safe.

Gigi Gallo had always been taught the importance of loyalty, love, and family. And when she falls head over heels for Pike Moore, a hottie biker with a troubled past, everything she learned will be put to the test. But when you love a Gallo, you never fight alone.

After his family secrets are revealed, Pike must figure out how to leave the past behind him and allow himself to be truly happy, finding his happily ever after.

Explosive and addictive! Gigi Gallo and Pike’s story continue with the second book in Bliss’s Men of Inked: Heatwave series and you won’t want to miss a minute of this continuation from Book 1 Flame. I liked Gigi and Pike together from the very beginning and this book delves into Pike’s background and how he came to be who he is today. We get to see a softer side of him when his younger bro needs him. The characters were already fairly well developed in the first part of their story, and the second part just gives us more to go on in Pike’s background and helps build on their love for one another and her family’s acceptance of him. I enjoyed them a lot, but the ending was really abrupt. Enjoying the series a lot!
