When an Irish vet moves across the pond for the Kentucky Derby and into her home, an equine trainer finds herself with more than just a roommate in the second installment of the Kentucky Derby Medics duet by Susan Carlisle.

A PULSE-RACING ENCOUNTER…

Vet Conor lost everything when his wife and unborn child died. Now, working in Kentucky with a horse entered in the famous derby is the ideal distraction. He just didn’t expect to be in such close quarters with beautiful equine trainer Christina… After her ex destroyed her professional reputation, Christina is firmly off men. Until the Irishman moves into the room next door! Soon, their chemistry can’t be reined in. But as the finish line approaches, can they move on from their heartache and bet that this time they’ll win?

A sweet and sentimental healing! The second book in Susan Carlisle’s Kentucky Derby Medics duet is sure to please race fans as two veterinarians connect over caring for Kentucky Derby entrants and healing past hurts. The characters each had a powerful backstory that both could have used fleshing out just a smidge more, but they were characters that were believable and easy enough to like. I liked their connection and the ease they had with each other. Fairly fast paced and satisfying.

I recommend this book as well as the first in the duet to anyone that enjoys a medical romance with a bit a bit of southern countryside as a setting and is horse racing themed.
