A K-9 cop must protect a single mom as USA TODAY bestselling author Marie Ferrarella introduces the new Coltons of Red Ridge miniseries

Carson Gage has a crime to solve—the murder of his brother—and his number-one suspect is his archenemy, Serena Colton. The Coltons and Gages have feuded for generations; Carson is convinced the cowgirl is hiding his prime suspect on her ranch. But the beauty and her baby stir unwelcome yearnings in his calloused heart. After all, Carson has learned the hard way what vulnerability can cost. When Serena and her child become targets of a mysterious assailant, Carson’s protective urges take over. Can an irresistible attraction prove stronger than old family hatreds and help them capture a criminal?

Packed full of intrigue! With the first book in a new Colton’s spin-off series, The Colton’s of Red Ridge, Marie Ferrarella weaves in intricate story of secrets and deception that held my attention from start to finish. The characters are easy to like and you find yourself knee deep in wanting to figure out who the criminals they are searching for are. The ending was too abrupt for my liking, but we are left with a great lead-in for more to come in the series … looking forward to it!

When K-9 police detective Carson Gage sets out for a night on the town, the last thing he expects is to be working on solving a murder by the end of the night … especially when the victim is his very own brother! When the clues lead him directly to the door of his family’s rival and particularly to single mom Serena Colton, will he be able to find justice quickly? Is she harboring his number one suspect on her ranch?

Serena Colton can’t believe Carson is showing up demanding to search their home. Who does he think he is? She’ll prove to him that no one is being hidden there, but she doesn’t have to like it! When a new situation arises and an intruder puts Serena and her baby in danger, Carson finds himself risking a lot to keep them safe. When their close contact brings attraction flaring between them, will they dare to cross their family feud lines to attempt to have something together?
