With her 3rd book in The Husband Series, Louise Cusack brings us my favorite yet with Louella’s story! In the previous books, Louella has always been the uptight, haughty queen of the group who we think can do no wrong from her uppity attitude, but in her story, we learn some of what has made her the way she is in life, and we also see a softer, gentler side of her at times. It’s a pleasure getting to know her and seeing who she becomes with Nick at her side!
Louella Knight is a Rose Bay socialite who is divorcing her husband, Marcus, after 15 years of marriage. Marcus divulged info to her a few years ago that proved what a sham their marriage really was, and she can’t stand living in it anymore.
Nicholas Markes is Louella’s bodyguard that she employed after Marcus received some death threats earlier in the year. With him by her side, she attempts to figure out what Marcus has gotten himself into when shady things start to happen.
Nick is a tough guy, but turns gentle when he’s around Louella. There’s a draw between them that they don’t seem to be able to ignore. Will they be able to forgive each other for the secrets that they keep and find a happily ever after when all is said and done?
