After identifying her employer's dangerous enemies, Jessica Jakes takes refuge at the compound of the Raven Riders Motorcycle Club. Fellow Hard Ink tattooist and Raven leader Ike Young promises to keep Jess safe for as long as it takes, which would be perfect if his close, personal, round-the-clock protection didn't make it so hard to hide just how much she wants him--and always has.

Ike Young loved and lost a woman in trouble once before. The last thing he needs is alone time with the sexiest and feistiest woman he's ever known, one he's purposely kept at a distance for years. Now, Ike's not sure he can keep his hands or his heart to himself--or that he even wants to anymore. And that means he has to do whatever it takes to hold on to Jess forever.

My first Laura Kaye book will definitely not be my last! I was wanting to start her Raven Rider MC series, so I grabbed this prequel/crossover that kicked it all off. I haven’t read the Hard Ink series, but I didn’t find it hard to pick this one up and enjoy it at all … easy to follow, described enough from that series to follow along without a problem. I really enjoyed tough guy Ike … especially the tender center that Jess brings out. They both carry a lot of guilt for previous times in their life, but to move forward, they find themselves able to let go of enough to let each other in. Loved their story and look forward to getting to know more of the MC guys soon!

Jessica Jakes finds herself in a boatload of trouble when she accidentally gets mixed up with a dangerous group that is targeting her employers. She needs to get out of her house … and fast!

Ike Young is there the minute Jess calls him for help. He can’t stand to see her so afraid and vows to keep her safe. He takes her back to the Raven Rider’s compound to lie low until the Hard Ink guys can catch the men that are after them and it’s safe for her to go home again. Ike likes Jess a lot … which is exactly why he’s kept his distance from her. The attraction between them is explosive .. and it doesn’t take long for their solitary time together to cause it to detonate!
