Jacob Esera, star rugby player and young single father, has worked hard to create a joyous life for his six-year-old daughter. After the death of his childhood sweetheart soon after their daughter’s birth, all Jake wants is safety and stability. No risks. No wild chances. And especially no Juliet Nelisi, former classmate, scandal magnet, and a woman who is a thorn in his side.

As a lonely teenager, Juliet embraced her bad-girl reputation as a shield against loneliness and rejection. Years later, having kicked a cheating sports-star ex to the curb, she has a prestigious job and loyal friends—and wants nothing to do with sportsmen. The last thing she expects is the fire that ignites between her and the stuffed-shirt golden boy who once loved her best friend.

Straitlaced Jacob Esera versus wild-at-heart Juliet Nelisi? Place your bets.

Emotionally riveting! With the third book in her Hard Play series, Nalini Singh delights her readers with Jacob’s story in LOVE HARD. With a twist on a frenemies to lovers story, we get to watch a single dad fall for the bad-girl best friend of his former love. It’s emotional, it’s sexy and it’s full of heart!

Star rugby player Jake Esera steals a reader’s heart immediately when we learn his back story. Becoming a single dad as a teenager when his high school sweetheart died unexpectedly, he was left to pick up the pieces with his family by his side.

Juliet Nelisi is easy to like. She was best friends since childhood with Jake’s former love and though they were never close, she respects the way he stepped up and gave their daughter the world after Callie died.

I recommend this book to anyone looking for a sports romance with a whole lot of life around it. Jake and his family are great and the chemistry he has with Juliet is divine. I enjoyed their story a lot.
