I disappear for a living. She’s the only person who’s ever actually seen me.
As the man who keeps Las Vegas Defiance MC’s secrets, I’ve made staying invisible an art form. I watch from the shadows so my brothers never have to look over theirs. I’ve worked too damn hard to let anyone close enough to find the cracks I’ve spent a lifetime hiding.
Then a woman fighting to protect Vegas’ most vulnerable kids starts receiving messages meant to break her, and she refuses to tell a single soul. Sage Matthews is all defiance with a stubborn need to protect everyone but herself.
I should keep my distance.
Watch. Wait. Let her fight the battle she thinks is hers alone. But she’s fire wrapped around an iron will, and the closer the threat gets, the harder it becomes to stay the man who only watches. When those threats stop hiding behind a screen and come for her in the open, I stop watching from the shadows. I step out of them and become the threat.
One wrong move and I show her exactly what I’m capable of.
One right move and I might lose myself to her instead.
Some secrets are worth killing to protect.
Some women are worth setting fire to your darkness for.
But with Sage, I might burn every piece of mine to the ground.
Mysteriously addictive! Next up for Osborn’s Las Vegas Defiance MC series is Ghost and Sage. Ghost has been a mystery for the majority of the series, but he’s always there to support his brothers and their old ladies when he’s needed. I felt like there was a good bit missing from giving a history of what happened so far in this series to catch a reader up on the characters as a whole. I liked Ethan and how kind he was, especially the effort he puts in to getting to know her sister. Sage was too secretive for my liking. The drama felt like it would have moved along more smoothly if only she had confided her secret sooner. I like the characters and this MC a lot as a whole, but this wasn’t my favorite because of how slow the pace was and little catch up from prior books. Looking forward to the more to come though.
