Bennet Stevens will do anything to prove himself. But the ranger never expected a cold case lead like Alyssa Jimenez, a wild-card bounty hunter. Or that someone would target her. The only safe place she can hide is in Bennet’s elite world. But Alyssa’s gutsy maneuvers and surprising vulnerability are putting Bennet’s heart at passionate risk…

Alyssa barely survived her drug-cartel family’s machinations. She knows all too well that trusting anyone can get you dead. Still, Bennet is the only way she can finally put her mother’s unsolved murder to rest. But posing as his lover is seductive—and risky. And exposing the truth could guarantee they won’t live to celebrate Christmas.

Danger at every corner with a powerful opposites attract storyline! She’s from a crime family, he’s from political power … yet they joing together in the middle of chaos and find their happily ever after! We were kept playing the guessing game throughout most of the story to try to figure out who was playing games with them and why. The characters were serious and fun to watch grow into a couple.

Texas Ranger Bennet Stevens is determined to impress the powers that be at work by solving a cold case that’s been on the books for years. He’s not afraid to get down and dirty to do it, and that’s a good thing because he’s just discovered that his case involves a major drug-cartel in the area!

Under-ground bounty hunter Alyssa Jimenez was lucky to escape as unruffled as she did from her family of criminals. She’s none too pleased to have even the thought of the cartel stirred up again when Bennet comes calling, but once she realizes he can help her get justice for her mother’s murder, she decides it might be worth her while to attempt to work with him. When danger comes knocking and her only safe haven is smack dab in the middle of Bennet’s elitist family, she’s not so sure how she’s going to handle this!
