She's everywhere.

Ex-wife.

Love of his life.

The last person in the world he wanted to see...ever.

And now that he's working beside her every day, he can't escape her. Her scent, glimpses of her smile, even the tension in the air that makes his body hum with the kind of need he'd only experienced with one person-all of it is driving him over the edge.

Brant Wellington was certain of three things:

Alcohol wasn't going to solve this.

He really was losing his F-ing mind.

And his gorgeous ex-wife was going to be the death of him.

Can there truly be a second chance at forever? Brant & Nikki find themselves hoping against hope that there can be! These two wounded hearts have spent their time apart being gutted and wishing things had been different. Now they are faced with the opportunity of being in the same vicinity again and have to decide whether to forget it all and go about their separate lives … or to bear their wounded souls to each other in hopes that the other might decide to stay. This is my first book by this author, and I wasn’t a huge fan of her style of writing … but I did enjoy the story as a whole. I’m not a fan of a story that leaves us to play a guessing game of what happened and fills in bits and pieces here and there. I find it easier to connect and become one with the characters if I’m living the heartache right there along side them. In all, it wasn’t my favorite style of book, but in the end I did become a fan of the characters and stood right there beside them rooting for that happily ever after!

Brant Wellington comes from a supportive family who also loves to butt their nose in where it doesn’t belong every chance they get. None of them have been able to pull his head out of the sand over the years since he split with his ex and have worried that he’s a lost cause. Finally someone comes up with a plan to make him address his heartache head-on, once and for all … but having her in front of him again, no, he’s not going to be able to handle it!

His ex-wife Nikki is also blindsided to have him all of a sudden in the same room with her. She thought she was working towards moving on and starting a new life … but she’s really just been spending these years wishing he’d turn back around and give her another chance.

There’s a sexy secret under the tree this Christmas…

With no money and her real name under wraps, chef Joy McKinley isn’t expecting the greatest Christmas. At least her hideout is a luxury mountaintop estate. But when a gorgeous, gallant, incredibly sexy billionaire ends up snowbound with her, Joy wishes she could tell Alexander Townsend the whole truth about herself. Especially when the one thing she shares is her bed—and then discovers he has as many trust issues as she does. Will keeping secrets cost Joy the best Christmas gift she’s ever received?

Strangers in the night can lead to forever! I was enthralled with the story from the beginning, but found it a little difficult to sink my teeth into. I think the plot had great potential, but would have been a little more explosive if perhaps we had seen the story line leading to her being secreted away in a mountain paradise. It’s possible that story was told in the serial that it mentions this arose from, but having not read that yet, it fell a little flat for this reader. I still enjoyed the story, and the characters were a lot of fun to get to know … it wasn’t my favorite from this author, but still quite entertaining!

When a sexy billionaire sweeps her off her feet (in a most unexpected way!), Joy McKinley finds herself stuck between a rock and a hard place. If her true identity gets out, it could jeopardize her secret hideout and being as broke as broke can be, that will leave her out on the street … but as the days go by, she really likes this guy and lying to him is breaking her heart!

Alexander Townsend has reason to be suspicious when he first meets someone .. and he did find himself wondering why she was so secretive when they first met … but as he slowly lets his guard down and lets himself enjoy his time with Joy, he starts yearning for more. When he takes a step towards making that happen, she braves his wrath and tells him all of her secrets … will he forgive all or tell her to get lost?

EXCERPT:

It was Brant.

Always Brant.

Maybe that was because they’d never had any real closure. Just fighting, yelling, and then silence.

God, she’d hated the silence so much more than the yelling.

The silence crackled with tension—it was always filled with more meaning than when words were actually spoken.

It wasn’t the yelling that had killed their relationship.

It was the silence that had followed. When he had every opportunity to fix it—and didn’t.

Why was it so hard to move on? Probably because she hadn’t tried.

Instead, she’d worked. Tried to stay positive. And hoped.

Damn hope. Stupid hope.

“He’s not coming back for me,” she whispered, knowing that if she finally admitted he wasn’t coming, she would have to take her part of the blame in why. Because it wasn’t just on him to come running back. A small part of her knew that it was her job to meet him halfway. Instead, she’d ignored the need in his eyes, the desperate plea in his voice, and allowed grief to swallow her whole. Because at the time she’d needed someone to blame, and it was easier blaming him than herself.
