He unleashed the darkness in her…but it might cost them both.

Billionaire Braden Black has one hard limit in the bedroom. He doesn’t talk about it, and he doesn’t engage in it. But when his lover, Skye Manning, begs him for it, he has to face facts—while he may be able to buy her anything, he can’t give her this. Though he loves her desperately, he’s starting to worry their relationship can’t continue.

Skye Manning has fallen down the rabbit hole and become captive to her needs. When Braden asks her why she desires something so dark, and she finds she can’t respond, she knows she’ll have to come up with those answers on her own. She’s willing, but she wants something in return—Braden’s complete honesty about his past.

Because Skye is convinced her needs, his limits...everything is tied to this one secret.

An emotional conclusion to the Follow Me trilogy! With the third book in the series Helen Hardt brings the heart and soul of Braden and Skye to the surface as conflict arises and loyalties are tested. FOLLOW ME ALWAYS picks up dramatically and the tension is high throughout. While the sequels never quite caught me in the gut as hard as the first introduction to Braden and Sky in book one did, they followed through with an emotional journey of love and acceptance. I enjoyed this trilogy a lot!

Braden is domineering and in total control of his actions … or he was until he met this woman who makes him want things he never allowed himself to want before. We meet a softer side of Braden in this conclusion.

Skye is sweet and loveable, but she’s searching for answers as to why she wants darker things than even Braden is willing to partake in. She learns a lot about herself and how far her love will take her in this story.

I recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who enjoys a BDSM centered story that brings together an unlikely couple and turns their lives upside down on that trip towards forever!

Can she show him how to be a rancher…

And a family man?

Noah Bodine is paying the price for missing his sister’s wedding by temporarily running his family’s Kansas ranch. But the corporate cowboy is way out of his element. Thankfully, neighbor Kate Lancaster is there to help, though the pretty single mom isn't pleased to spend time with Noah. She still blames Noah for her husband’s death. That is, until Kate’s little boy decides to make Noah his new best friend…and changes both Kate’s and Noah’s meaning of home.

Sweet and sentimental! It’s always a pleasure to return to Leigh Riker’s Kansas Cowboys series because she always writes a solid, feel good romance with lots of emotion, all the feels and just general down home goodness. A COWBOY’S HOMECOMING peaked my interest early on and held it throughout. The adorable and atrocious kiddo in the story was one of my favorite highlights, along with the emotional healing of all involved.

Kate and her adorable son Teddie are easy to like and sympathize with in this tale of forgiveness and acceptance. Her story is developed well and has both high and low points that make her connect well with the reader.

Noah is kind and good, and this forced proximity back home in Kansas is doing him a world of good. He’s been living the corporate life for so long that he forgot the good things that ranching brought to his soul.

I highly recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who enjoys a wholesome romance filled with family drama, romantic connections and happily ever afters.

I am Alexandru, the chosen one. The ruler of the Romanian mafie Lupu clan.
Nina is my little sister’s best friend, and an outsider.
Will my duty to the family tear us apart?

Nina

I’ve been in love with Alex for as long as I can remember. I know he wants me, but he’s a self-contained perfectionist who will never break with tradition in his rigid world. The tradition in question: an arranged marriage with a mafie princess.

Alex
With my ambition, I must follow in my father's footsteps. I will be the perfect head of the family, the perfect husband and father, the perfect... man. In this dog-eat-dog mafie world, a single mistake could end in bloodshed.

After years of conflict with a rival family, my sister is contracted to marry and bring peace. But when the bride runs away and threatens the truce, I need to convince Nina to help me track down my wayward sister.

A replacement must be found and it makes sense that it should be me. The only problem is Nina. The little minx is everything I want in a woman and a wife. And it doesn't help that I can't stop fantasizing about her underneath me, either.

As our chemistry heats up, a soldier's irreparable mistake starts a war that can only be stopped with the ultimate sacrifice. Myself. Marrying your own kind is the primal rule that reigns over my world, but as I uncover secrets, I learn my perfect father may not have been so perfect after all...

Decadently dark and addictive! With the first book in The Lupu Chronicles series Monique Moreau brings the Lupu Romanian mafia clan to life that we caught a glimpse of in her Demon Squad MC series in Whistle and Tasa’s book. Because I read WHISTLE’S WAR first, I already knew Tasa’s background and had a good bit of groundwork in my mind, but if you’re coming into this one first I’m not sure there is enough detail to make you appreciate it quite as much. I wanted to see a bit more development of Alex and Nina’s ultimate relationship play out, but overall I loved the book and am looking forward to watching this series unravel in future books. It’s dark and dangerous but oh so fun!

Alexandru Lupu is dark and deadly and does what has to be done on a daily basis, but beneath it all he’s a man who loves his family more than anything. I enjoyed seeing his side of the Tasa drama and seeing him fall for the girl least likely.

Nina is sweet and loyal. Some might call her gullible, but I liked the hint of that about her because she was able to look past the dark deeds and see the heart and soul of the matter.

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a dark mafia romance with a depth of heart built in.

He’s too wild, too unpredictable, and completely off-limits by my coach’s decree.

My life imploded and now I’m halfway around the world, sleeping in my brother's spare room, and trying to get my sh*t together. A new relationship is the last thing I need. Especially one with my coach-slash-brother’s protégé, cocky cage fighter Devon Green.

Devon’s big heart, sexy swagger, and determination to coax me out of my shell appeal more than they should. I’ve spent years building my defenses, but every stolen moment with him tempts me to tear them down. Unfortunately, I need to keep my hands to myself unless I’m willing to risk losing my home, my job, and my family.

I’ve stepped into the ring dozens of times before, but fighting for love is the most terrifying prospect of all. When the final buzzer sounds, will Devon and I be left standing?

Fighter’s Secret is a standalone sports romance with a confident hero who knows what he wants and a badass heroine who makes him work for it.

Seductively riveting! With the third book in her Crown MMA series A. Rivers brings on the adorableness and heat by the boatload in FIGHTER’S SECRET. I felt their story ended very abruptly and while we were given a glimpse into Seth’s story coming up next, I still wanted a more complete settling in for them as a couple. I’m looking forward to the next book!

Devon is just the sweetest! He’s self-assured and knows he’s all that, but the second he sets eyes on Harley, he knows she’s the one for him. He’s really quite adorable in his pursuit and I loved him.

Harley is hard to like. We only get a hint of the relationship that she’s coming off of that has her guarded and bitter, but hiding him away instead of owning her feelings was hard to overcome in my book. She really needed to let us see her softer side, especially in her relationship with her brother.

I recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone who enjoys a sport heavy romance circling around MMA and the close-knit core teammates at one gym.

“So,” Devon continues, rubbing circles on his chest. “This is the part where I ask you out again, yeah?”
I sigh. “If it was, I’d have to turn you down.” Strangely, I find myself regretting that fact, and not just because my body is still wired with attraction to him. He actually seems like a nice guy, but officially off-limits, and not the right match for me anyway.
“Damn.” His lips quirk, but he doesn’t seem upset at all. “Have you decided whether you want me to back off and stop flirting with you?”
My breath quickens. Why does he have to keep asking that and putting the responsibility on me to reject him? Why can’t he be like any other douchey guy who’d ignore what I want and flirt anyway? Because while I can’t date him, I enjoy exchanging hot looks across the gym floor and I don’t want it to end.
“No, I haven’t,” I say, something fizzing in my chest. “I need more time to think about it.”
“Okay, then.” He grins crookedly. “Can I ask what’s holding you back?”
I drag a hand down my face and battle to pull myself together. Dare I be honest with him? I moisten my lips. “The thing is, I’ve recently gone through something that makes it hard for me to trust people, and I’m not denying that I’m attracted to you, but you seem like a good-time guy and that’s not what I’m looking for.”
He cocks his head, the humor fleeing his expression, and his eyes become uncharacteristically serious. “I could be more than a good-time guy for you, Harley.”
A lick of heat runs down my spine. His gaze is so intense. So honest. But from what I’ve seen of him, I’m not sure whether to believe him. The fact is, I hardly know Devon. I knew Thaklaew much better, and I still didn’t see his betrayal coming. Why should I think I’m any better at reading this guy?
“Think on it.” He touches his glove to mine. “Ready for round two?”

He’s lost everything…
Dare he risk his heart?

When renowned Chicago surgeon Matt Chapman agreed to testify against a notorious crime family, he lost his family, his fiancée and his career. Now he hopes to start again in an idyllic Mississippi town. But his efforts to keep to himself are threatened by his new boss, Dr. Shay Lunsford, who seems just as alone as he is. Dare Matt get closer to Shay and risk his heart again?

Highly satisfying! Susan Carlisle takes the time to development a sweet relationship really well in her latest Harlequin Medical Romance and I enjoyed it from start to finish. The characters in TAMING THE HOT-SHOT DOC each have a compelling back story and their instant connection is rewarding to delve into throughout the book.

Matt is an all around nice guy with a self-assured confidence that melds well with his kind heart.

Shay is the heart of the town and a joy to interact with, but she’s leery of a relationship at this point in her life.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a high energy medical setting with a sweet love story and lots of heart woven in throughout.

Taos was tired.
Tired of everything that came with living. Not to the point where he was suicidal or anything, but tired enough that he just didn’t give a crap anymore.
He’d seen all the ugliness this world had to offer due to his job as a police officer for way too many damn years of his less than stellar life. After finding a way to sustain his spending habits that didn’t include having criminals point guns at his face, he quits without a backward glance.
Only, he just can’t step away from old habits.
Old habits that have to do with a beautiful young woman that makes his heart feel like it isn’t nearly as broken as it is.
Fran has experienced more than her fair share of crap. After an attack that nearly took her life, she stays hidden in her house, fearful that stepping out of her comfort zone will be the final nail in her coffin.
Then her sister forces her to face her fears, and she joins Madd CrossFit.
There, she meets the man that saved her life a year ago, and realizes rather quickly that he doesn’t even realize who he is to her.
He’s everything she ever thought a man should be and wants nothing to do with her.
Maybe she’ll have to give him a reason to look her way.
And damned if she doesn’t find a way to do it.
She didn’t plan on nearly getting killed for that to happen, though.
At least not again.

Highly emotional and rewarding! Lani Lynn Vale is kicking off a brand new series revolving around the owners and attendees of a Cross Fit gym and the first book did not disappoint! The characters in NO REP were rich with back story, the supporting cast feel like old friends and the emotion of the story and depth of their connection was fully satisfying. I’m looking forward to more to come in this Madd CrossFit series.

Taos is gruff and broody, but has a heart of gold that quickly expands to revolve around Fran. I loved that he got to know her anew without realizing their history at first.

Fran is a survivor and it’s rewarding to see her come to life in a way she hasn’t been living under the new love of a good man.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a familiar bond camaraderie with characters who are good friends supporting each other as love comes calling.

For decades, Eden has remained hidden in the remote wilds of the Pacific Northwest, “Pastor” keeping his cult's followers in thrall for his personal profit and sexual pleasures. But the Founding Elders are splintering, and Pastor's surrogate son DJ is scheming to make it all his own.

When two of Eden's newest members send out a cry for help, it reaches FBI Special Agent Tom Hunter, whose friend and fellow FBI Special Agent Gideon Reynolds and his sister, Mercy, are themselves escapees of the Eden cult, targeted by the Founding Elders who want them silenced forever. The three have vowed to find the cult and bring it down, and now, they finally have a solid lead.

Neutralizing Eden’s threat will save captive members and ensure Tom’s new friends can live without fear. But when his best friend, ex-Army combat medic Liza Barkley, joins the case, it puts her life—and their blossoming love—in danger. With everything they hold dear in the balance, Tom and Liza, together with Gideon and Mercy, must end Eden once and for all.

A twisted and satisfying conclusion of the diabolical Eden cult! Karen Rose has pulled out all the stops with this third book in her Sacramento Series trilogy and left us with a demented weaving of terror mixed with a sweet happily ever after and a phenomenal group of family and friends that bring so much heart to this series. I loved every minute of this book and the entire series!

This trilogy began with an FBI agent dedicating his life to trying to track down the cult he escaped from as a teen to try to rescue his mother and sister and the rest of the innocents being terrorized by evil. His sister is eventually reconciled with him and lives her own cycle of recovery and commits to moving forward with life as they continue their search for the remaining cult.

This book brings the danger to a head as a new member of the cult manages to get word to a civilian of a vicinity where she’s being held and the FBI jumps to chase the lead with a familiar face leading the charge. Tom Hunter will be familiar to Rose’s early fans and gets his very own happily ever after in this book.

I highly recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who loves a dark and deadly twist to their romance with lots of thrilling moments leaving you guessing throughout.

EXCERPT:

EDEN, CALIFORNIA
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 19, 10:30 P.M.

Hayley Gibbs winced as her belly scraped against the doorjamb leading into the clinic. Dammit. She’d underestimated her current— and increasing—size yet again. Damn pregnancy.

She gave her stomach a soothing pat. Not you, she silently told her unborn child. Her daughter. I’m not mad at you, Jellybean. Never you. She was mad, however, at her mother. She was beyond furious with the woman. And scared of her at the same time. The fury was nothing new. The fear . . . well, that was new. At least this kind of fear. It had always been the fear of not having enough to eat, or of where they’d live the next week, or what her mother would do if she learned that Hayley was having sex with her high school boyfriend Cameron, or that her little brother Graham was shoplifting electronics.
Then she’d found out what her mother would do if she found out. Move us here. To this hellhole in the middle of fucking nowhere. From which Hayley was going to escape or die trying.

She just needed to get into the clinic’s office.

Drawing a breath, she eased her way through the clinic door and quietly closed it behind her. She stood statue‑still, listening for the sound of anyone else. But it was silent.

Thank you, she mouthed, not sure whom she was thanking. Probably not God, or not her mother’s God, at least. The God Hayley wanted to thank would help her keep her baby safe. The God she wanted to thank definitely wouldn’t approve of these . . . monsters.

Eden was full of monsters and her mother had dragged Hayley and her brother here, kicking and screaming.

Hayley rubbed her fingertips over the thick chain welded around her neck.

Welded. Around. My. Neck.

It wasn’t jewelry, despite the locket that dangled from it. It was a collar. It was ownership.

It was also empty, at the moment. The locket. But after the baby came, her locket would be filled with her wedding photo. She was technically married now—and had been since the day they’d arrived in this awful place. Luckily her “husband” didn’t want to “consummate” their union with another man’s bastard in her belly, so she hadn’t been forced into sex. Yet.

He didn’t want their wedding photo sullied with the evidence of her sin. He’d have the photo taken after the “bastard” was born. Which gave her a little more than six weeks.

Hayley’s gut churned at the thought of being the fourth wife Brother Joshua would have—at the same time. Polygamy abounded in Eden, and Hayley wanted no part of it.

She hadn’t wanted any of it. She just wanted to be with her boyfriend and live their lives the way they’d always planned since their first homecoming dance in the ninth grade.

No, this baby wasn’t what she and Cameron had planned, at least not now. They were only seventeen, after all. But Cam’s parents had stepped up and said that they could live with them once the baby came, that they could still go to college.

But her mother hadn’t agreed. The next thing Hayley had known, she and Graham had been forced into the back of some guy’s truck.

And now I’m here.

Here in Eden. Here in the clinic, closed at the moment. If she got caught . . . She shuddered at the very thought. But she had to try. She was more afraid to stay in Eden than she was of any punishment. And Pastor—the creepy leader of this creepy cult in the mountains—he terrified her. The people here obeyed him like robots.

She rubbed her stomach as it lurched again. Come on now. Don’t worry, Jellybean. I’ll get us out of here before you arrive. I promise.

So now she had to. She’d just promised her daughter.

Her daughter. She was going to have a daughter. She and Cameron had seen the baby on the ultrasound back at the ob‑gyn’s office in San Francisco, had heard her heartbeat. Cam had cried, his hand clutching hers as they’d stared at the small screen.

I love you, Cam, she whispered inside her own mind. I love you both. They hadn’t chosen a name yet, so they called her Jellybean for now. Her daughter didn’t even have a name, but Hayley would have given up everything to protect her. Which meant getting them out of this place, with its clinic that would have been considered medieval even in Little House on the Prairie days.

She looked around the dark room, shrouded in shadow. There was no ultrasound here. No oxygen if the baby needed it. No painkillers. At all. Just a bed with stirrups and straps.

Hayley didn’t want to know what the straps were used for.

She did know that women died in childbirth here. She’d heard the whispers.

It would be God’s punishment for her sin, one woman had said.

She’s a whore, another had added.

And then one old crone had whispered words that had chilled her to the bone: Sister Rebecca will take the baby and raise it as her own.

Even if she lives? the first woman had asked.

Even if the whore lives, the crone had confirmed. God wouldn’t want any baby to be raised by that Jezebel.

Hayley cradled her stomach with both arms. No fucking way in hell. Even if Sister Rebecca had been a good person, which she was not. She was Brother Joshua’s “first” wife—the highest‑ranking of all the sister‑wives. Brother Joshua had a total of four wives and Hayley was at the bottom of the list, which meant she had to obey the other wives as well as her “husband.”

Hayley wanted to spit the word out of her mouth. He is not my husband.

He was a horrible person, snide and cruel. Unfortunately, Sister Rebecca was also a horrible person as well as being barren. That was the word the other women had used. Barren.

It was like living in a costume drama from the 1800s.

Sister Rebecca had three children, all taken from other women in the compound. Two of the women had apparently died in childbirth. The third had been birthed by an unwed mother. Like me. No one had mentioned what had happened to the unwed mother and Hayley wondered who she was.

Nobody’s taking my daughter from me. Nobody. They’ll have to kill me first.

Is he her shelter from the storm…

Or her biggest mistake?

Valencia Donovan’s plan to dazzle the wealthy investor she needs for her horse rescue start-up takes an unexpected turn when a tornado strands her with Lorenzo Cortez-Williams. Giving in to attraction in a desperate moment only makes them hungry for more. After they've blown away all boundaries, Valencia’s treacherous feelings for the guarded ranching heir could jeopardize her lifelong dream. But closing the deal—while walking away from their intimate affair—could cost her even more…

Sensually scandalous! With book six in the ongoing Texas Cattleman’s Club: Heir Apparent series Joanne Rock brings us Valencia and Lorenzo’s story. The characters are easy to like and the saga surrounding Soiree on the Bay continues to be interwoven into each story. I connected well with the characters, but the ending was rather abrupt. I enjoyed the story as a whole and look forward to the last couple of books yet to come in the series.

Valencia is kind-hearted and devoted to her horse rescue.

Lorenzo is a tad pretentious but he’s wears it well and won me over regardless.

I want him, and nothing is going to stop me from having him. When I witness a murder, my only choice is to go to the only man i know will protect me, even if that puts him and his club in the firing line.

Powerful and endearing! With book six in her Untamed Sons MC series Jessica Ames is bring us her most tortured hero yet with FURY.  The characters are addictive and while I wanted more development of their relationship to really be able to sink my teeth into them as a couple, I did like them both very much. The tension is high, the emotions are free flowing and the intrigue was explosive. I’m looking forward to more in the series!

Fury has been a key character in this entire series and it’s satisfying to learn his ugly back story that only makes us love him more than ever. He’s loyal and true and his demons are understandable.

Amalia won me over quickly because she just knows Fury is solid and is willing to put forth an effort to believe in him.

I recommend this book and entire series to anyone who enjoys a raw motorcycle club series that has so much heart mixed up in the ugly and good that make them who they are.

Jett Olsson isn’t looking for anything serious and she’s not looking for anything at all, so why does it seem so hard to keep it professional?

I love my life—the thrill of being on the ice as part of the Arizona Vengeance, the rush of winning, the adoration of the fans. And if that adoration means I don’t have to spend the night alone, well even better. I’m content being single and always ready to mingle.

But the day Emory Holland walks into a Vengeance team meeting my attention is caught like never before. I can tell right away she’s full of smarts and sass, and the fact that she’s hot as hell sure doesn’t hurt either. She immediately shuts down my advances, so I opt for the road less traveled—straight to the friend zone.

My approach works like a charm, and when she invites me into her bed for a no-strings, friends-with-benefits arrangement, I vow to give her everything I have. She’s been hurt before, and if I’m able to help her heal while giving her a spectacularly satisfying time *pats self on back*, then I’ll be happy.

Or at least that’s the lie I keep telling myself as the time ticks down on the final buzzer of our “relationship”. Now the real question is, can I score the winning goal in a game neither of us realized we were playing?

Sexy, sweet and oh so satisfying! The Arizona Vengeance is back with a bang with JETT and I loved every minute of him! The characters are endearing, the plot is fresh and fun and the team is a blast as always. The ending was abrupt and I wanted a bit more of Jett’s back story, but overall I adored him and loved his story!

Jett is the sweetest. Yes, he’s a player, but he’s respectful and true about what he is and watching him fall for Emory and the life she has to offer is so sweet.

Emory is a fresh voice in the back office and fun to get to know. Her story is emotional and deep and watching her fall for Jett and let him lighten up her life was really special.

I highly recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who loves a hockey romance with endearing characters and loads of heart.
