|If you’re in the mood to have a few laughs with some fun, quirky characters trying to solve a mystery while finding a little romance, check out this series from Adrienne Giordano! I loved them all! 🙂|
Mafia princess turned canine couturier Lucie Rizzo knows dogs are woman’sbest friend. Thanks to her fashion-forward four-legged clients, Lucie’s dog walking/designer pet accessory business is booming. And for once her love life isn’t far behind.
Lucie devotes her days to building the Coco Barknell brand, but her nights are all about roguishly sexy Tim O’Brien. At least they will be if she and Detective O’Hottie finally take their relationship to the next level. But bring an Irish cop home to her mobster father? Fuggetaboutit.
Lucie’s knack for finding trouble lands her in the doghouse—and on the six o’clock news. Someone’s absconded with a million-dollar piece of cinematic costume history, with Lucie the only witness to the crime. Not to mention the prime suspect. To clear her name, she’ll need an assist from her entire wacky crew: friends, family…and future (hopefully) lover.

Brooke Blogs – Character Description for Chantel from Love by Association
Now a member of the Santa Raquel High Risk Team, she goes undercover to ensure the safety of a boy and his mother, and ends up finding something horrible going on in the wealthy society she infiltrates. I didn’t know, when I started this book, what was going to happen. I didn’t know until the end how it was going to end. I didn’t even know if the bad guy was bad. Chantel took care of it all. She took care of me. And she’ll take care of you, too, if you give her a chance!
Lady Amber’s Reviews – The Where Secrets are Safe Series
The place where secrets are safe – a unique women’s shelter, The Lemonade Stand, in a fictional California coastal town, Santa Raquel. The people come and then they go. This isn’t a place where you stay forever. It’s a place where you bring your secrets, where you are safe, while you work out whatever is troubling you.
If you’ve never read a ttq book before, this might be a good one to start with. It has a little bit of everything – in my humble opinion – that makes my work unique. Love. Laughter. Suspense. And the grit that lines streets in real life.
Cu’s eBook Giveaways – Excerpt from Love by Association
Two nights ago his life had changed. He’d changed.
And it didn’t seem like there was a lot he could do about that.
Except to see where it was all going to lead…
Harlie’s Books – Reviews: Love by Association & Wild Horses
“I love Tara’s Superromances. She never disappoints. And of course she didn’t with Colin and Chantel’s story. There is so much depth to their story that goes beyond the romance and theme of domestic abuse.”
“I found a new author to read/stalk. She writes with emotional depth and creates characters that you fall in love with from the start.”
deal sharing aunt – Excerpt from Love by Association
“How did you do it, Meri? How did you keep up the facade of being one person when your real heart was so ripped up?” Through the years of running from her abusive ex-husband, Meri had taken on a number of different identities, but those had just been name changes. This last time, the time Chantel had been involved, she’d actually pretended to be someone she was not, leaving Max and Caleb and starting a different life in order to protect them from the danger following her.
Wishful Endings – Excerpt from Wild Horses
“I had a lot of time to lie in bed and wish I’d never taken that job. That I’d stayed in the States. With you.”
The words she’d wanted to hear for so long, right there between them on the table. Now that they’d been said, Nora realized that no matter how many times she’d imagined him saying them, she’d never imagined her answer. She stared at Todd, but he was still looking out over the bar, lost in memory. Maybe he didn’t even realize what he’d said.
underneath the covers – What Makes a Great Western Romance?
I love reading western romance. Put a hero in faded jeans a flannel shirt and a cowboy hat on a book cover and I will very likely buy that book! But sometimes I end up feeling like the cowboy on the cover is the only part of the book that is western. And since I write western romance as well, that got me thinking about what makes a story a western.
EskieMama Reads – Old Love Revisited
It’s a trope I’ve always been drawn to. The story where people meet at a high school reunion and confess that they’ve never forgotten each other. The woman who walks into her new job and realizes her co-worker is the man she’s always loved. Until recently, my fondness for this trope was a bit of a guilty pleasure. But now my secret is out. Not only does my new book, Wild Horses, explore this trope, but my July release is also about a couple that had a relationship in the past. I guess I have a lot to say about reuniting couples right now!
Becky on Books – Family Drama — Why I Love it!
It comes down to the whole reason I love reading and writing romance. It’s not just the chemistry between two characters that draws me into a story. It’s the personal and unique transformation that the hero and heroine both go through after they meet each other and fall in love. It’s the way that love forces us to wrestle with that old emotional baggage and grow into someone better. Someone more like the person we were meant to be.
Thoughts of a Blonde – Reviews of Love by Association and Wild Horses
“An intriguing story that keeps you guessing and trying to figure out who is guilty of what throughout. Lots of protective shields are in place that have to be torn down to let life in again.”
“A sweet read about finding your way home again, even if you have to overcome a lot of heartache and stubbornness to be able to do it.”
Love by Association
(Where Secrets are Safe #7)
by Tara Taylor Quinn
Adult Contemporary Romance
Mass Market Paperback & ebook, 384 pages
March 1st 2016 by Harlequin
Love isn’t part of the job…
A tough-as-nails cop, Chantel Harris faces whatever life throws at her, and then some. As part of Santa Raquel’s High Risk team—created by the town’s women’s shelter, The Lemonade Stand—she goes undercover to expose one of the community’s elite as an abuser.
Looking the part is easy, but gaining acceptance into upper society circles is a different matter. That’s where gorgeous and successful lawyer Colin Fairbanks comes in. But Colin is so much more than Chantel could have dreamed. Wanting him is dangerous. Falling for him could ruin everything…
This wild stallion can’t be tamed
Todd Williams is still the naive idealist he was in college. Only now he’s endangering lives—Nora Hoffman’s to be exact. Nora hasn’t seen Todd since he decided that saving the rain forest was more important than their relationship. Until the night she’s nearly crushed by the stampede he causes. Now Todd is determined to make amends, for everything.
She may not agree with his methods, but even Nora can’t deny the importance of his fight to save the wild horses. With the attraction between them still sizzling and the fate of the horses in the balance, Nora must decide just how much she’s willing to risk.
The author of more than 70 original novels, in twenty languages, Tara Taylor Quinn is a USA Today bestseller with over six million copies sold. Book Tour Grand Finale for
A Family Like Hannah’s
By Carol Ross
We hope you enjoyed coming along with us to an Alaskan ski resort and two strong characters who begin at odds, but may just find family and love in each other. If you missed any of the stops, go back and check them out now…
Launch – Intro to the Book
A Family Like Hannah’s is my version of an Alaskan winter – and more specifically – a wintertime in Rankins. On each stop of the tour, I’ve tried to infuse some of this enduring and inspiring winter spirit Alaskans seem to so easily embrace. Hope you enjoy!
Reading Is My SuperPower – Review
“Sweet, clean romance that will still have you reaching for your fan on occasion, A Family Like Hannah’s by Carol Ross takes you through a whole gamut of emotions. From anger and heartbreak to laughter and joy, you will ride the slopes along with a cast of compelling and truly likable characters.”
I Am A Reader – Let’s (Really) Get to Know Hannah & Tate from A Family Like Hannah’s
Hannah James – professional skier, owner and manager of Snowy Sky Ski Resort…
Tate Addison – professional snowboarder, businessman, inventor, ski area consultant…
Rockin’ Book Reviews – Review
“This was such a delightfully touching tale of possible romance and enduring love amongst life’s challenges.”
Getting Your Read On – Review
“This book was easy to read and hard to put down. I was drawn in and invested in this story. So good!”
Katie’s Clean Book Collection – Review
” I love that this isn’t just an easy, fluffy story, but had some real filling to go along with it, while maintaining a lighter feel–it wasn’t heavy. What a perfect recipe for a great story!”
Colorimetry – Hey, Honey, Let’s Load up the RV and Take the Kids Skiing!
Sure, we saw some of those charming resorts and lodges. From the parking lot. Out the window of our old motorhome. I still can’t believe my dad braved winter weather and treacherous mountain roads in that beast. (Visualize one-step up from Cousin Eddie’s “RV” from Christmas Vacation.) It would only putt along at about 15 miles per hour up the hills, so he would frequently have to pull over and let cars pass. Yep, we were those people. As kids, most of these realities and hazards escaped us. We were just thrilled to be there. For me, there was (is) no place I’d rather spend a winter day than skiing up in the mountains.
underneath the covers – Is the Road to Love Paved with Embarrassing Moments?
Alaskans are pretty inventive with their wintertime endeavors. Luckily, the town of Rankins had already laid a solid foundation for some of the best “meets” between Hannah and Tate. Add a little humor, a lot of tension, some creative license, and I’m excited to bring you a few of my favorite moments from A Family Like Hannah’s…
Thoughts of a Blonde – Review
“This story takes you deep into a small town filled with kind people and history. . . . Tate and Hannah’s ideas for the resort don’t line up very well, so there is tension between them, but there’s also attraction … a lot of it!”
Becky on Books – Review
“A Family Like Hannah’s is a sweet, feel-good romance. . . . This was my first book by this author, but it won’t be my last. It worked well as a standalone. . .”
deal sharing aunt – Interview
Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?
My ideas always come from my characters. I start by creating a person in my mind. I give them a personality first, including family situation, a job, hobbies, interests, likes and dislikes, and even little quirks. Then I try to drop them right into some kind of action. I add a line or two of dialogue, and I’m off and running. I do love to research my settings also, and often interesting scene ideas will arise from that.
Heidi Reads… – Review
“The characters in this book are vibrant and easy to visualize. . . . I loved the setting of winter in Alaska, especially at a ski resort since I’ve only been snowboarding twice.”
Zerina Blossom’s Books – Love, Snow, and Hot Cocoa
When I started writing this story, Hannah’s character was already sitting right beside me – telling me what she wanted to do, what she wanted to say – and what she likes. And Hannah likes hot chocolate…
Wishful Endings – Baby, it’s (Really, Really) Cold Outside
Spending the last couple years doing research and just learning fun things in general about this state, I thought it would be fun to show how an Alaskan winter really stacks up.
Starting over is serious business
With her professional skiing career cut short by an accident, Hannah James is putting all her energy into transforming Snowy Sky Resort into something special. There’s only one obstacle. Famous pro-snowboarder-turned-consultant Tate Addison has his own ideas about taking the Rankins, Alaska, lodge to the next level. But Hannah won’t compromise her dreams. She gets that Tate is trying to create a stable home for his orphaned six-year-old nephew—a boy Hannah already adores. And if she isn’t careful, she could also fall for the boy’s too-attractive uncle. Is she risking heartbreak? Or do she and Tate really want the same things out of life?
