Eric was quick to command attention from the very beginning when he listens to his gut instinct and pulls over a suspicious truck. He’s a well developed character with a past that haunts him and that has led him to this place looking for revenge and justice.

Tess is a strong, independent woman who will do anything to get her little brother out of trouble. She failed him in the past, and she won’t be able to live with herself if she does it again. Secrets just might be her downfall with Eric … but will it be worth it if she saves her brother?

I highly recommend this story to anyone loving an action packed mystery filled with intrigue, romance and camaraderie. The entire series has been attention grabbing, but this one stole my heart as my fav so far!

TAMING MY WHISKEY, the much anticipated sixth book in Melissa Foster’s The Whiskeys series is here and man was it worth the wait! She’s the tough girl only daughter in a family of big, boisterous biker guys … he’s the self-made bike designer who’s been at the edge of her world since she was a teenager. Their super sexy friends to lovers story is just what Whiskey fans have been anticipating … steamy, goodhearted and filled with that family we love so much.

Dixie has been one of my favs in the family since the first introduction of her so many books ago. She loves her family hard, is devoted to all things Whiskey and has the attitude to pull off being around the strong, dominating figures in her life.

She walked over to a table where three guys had just finished their beers and grabbed their empty bottles. “Refills?”

“Yeah, thanks,” one of the guys said.

She walked away with the human inferno that was Jace Stone on her heels.

“Dixie, how can you be upset with me? I gave you a twenty-thousand-dollar donation for the auction.”

She set the bottles on the bar and said, “Which I truly appreciate, but giving of yourself and giving money are two different things. One is easy and mindless. The other tells me who you are. It was a real eye-opener.” She crossed her arms and said, “What did you need help with anyway?”

Diesel grabbed the empty bottles, and Dixie said, “Another round, please.”

“I’m rolling out the Legacy line in the fall.”

“So I’ve heard. Bear’s pretty excited.” In addition to working at Whiskey Automotive, Bear worked part-time designing and building custom motorcycles for Jace’s company. He hadn’t worked on the Legacy line, but he raved about it.

“We all are. This line is my baby. I’ve put blood, sweat, and tears into it. It’s the first motorcycle line that will have bikes designed specifically for women. Nobody’s doing that, Dix. This is a huge deal.”

Bear had told her all about Jace’s innovative, sleek designs for women. It was a genius idea, and it didn’t surprise her that Jace had come up with it. But she couldn’t help thinking about Jace researching the contours of women’s bodies…

Diesel put three bottles on the bar, eyes locked on Jace. “Stone,” he said evenly.

“Diesel.” Jace lifted his chin in the manly greeting Dixie was accustomed to.

“Thanks, Diesel,” Dixie said, and as she headed to the table with Jace beside her, she said, “Congratulations on the line, but what does it have to do with needing me?” She set the bottles down, flashed a smile at the customers, and said, “Can I get you boys anything else?”

One of them looked her up and down lasciviously. Jace stepped closer, and the guy shifted his eyes away and said, “No. We’re good.”

Dixie spun on her heels, grabbed Jace’s arm, and dragged him to the side of the room. She felt Diesel’s antennae springing and glanced at the bar, mouthing, I’m fine! Turning her attention to Jace, she spoke in a harsh whisper. “You just fucked up my tip, and I don’t appreciate it. So whatever you have to say, say it and be gone, okay? I’ve got work to do.”

“That guy was looking at you like you were a piece of meat.”

“No shit. They all do.” Except now that she was thinking about it, Jace never had. Not once. In fact, in all the years she’d known him, this was the longest he’d ever looked at her. He didn’t live in Peaceful Harbor, but he traveled there often to see his brother Jared, who had signed up for the auction. Jared owned a restaurant in Pleasant Hill and lived there for several months out of the year. “I have a lot to do, Jace, so if you have more to say, please get on with it.”

“I’m launching a women’s clothing line called Leather and Lace when we launch the Legacy line. We’re making a calendar to promote the clothing and the new bikes. The photo shoot is next week, and the woman I hired to model got hurt and can’t make it. I want you to replace her.”

She blinked several times, unable to believe what she was hearing. An incredulous laugh tumbled out. “Do you even fucking know me, Stone? I am not a pinup girl!” She took a step away and he grabbed her arm, tugging her back to him and keeping her so close, she could see flecks of gold in his sexy hazel eyes.

“This is important to me, Dixie. I don’t want someone who fakes being a biker. I want an authentic woman. I want you.”

“Do I need to point out that I was your second choice, or maybe your tenth. I don’t know or care, because any way you cut it, the answer is no. I told you, I’m not a pinup girl.” She held his steady gaze with an ice-cold one of her own and said, “For the record, Whiskeys don’t play second fiddle to anyone. Sorry, Stone, but you’re out of luck.”

“Come on, Dixie,” he pleaded gruffly. “I’ll let you auction me off.”

“Too little, too late. The ballot is full.” The lie felt victorious. She yanked her arm free and said, “I have customers to help. Good luck with the line. I’m sure, like everything you touch, it will turn to gold.”

“With you on board, it’ll be legendary.”

“No.”

He leaned closer and lowered his voice to say, “This isn’t over, kitten.”

“What the hell did you just say?” Anger simmered inside her. She poked him in his rock-hard chest and said, “I’m nobody’s kitten, and you’re this close to earning a knee to your groin.”

“You definitely know how to use those claws, and you’re so sweet I bet you purr,” he said arrogantly. “You know you want to do it, Dix.”

His eyes drilled into her, causing heat to sear through her veins and her traitorous nipples to pebble into aching peaks. Damn, he played dirty.

“Careful, Stone. This kitten bites.”

It’s too short to have a whole lot of angst to let me sink my teeth into, but there’s a bit from the past that former sweethearts Jennie and Lucas have to get through before deciding to give their love another shot.

The background of the town is laid out somewhat in this story and we meet Lucas’s best friend Gray who is going to be the hero in the first full-length book in the series, out in March 2020. I enjoyed the characters and look forward to delving deeper into the town and it’s occupants!

She quickly sets forth a plan to fight for the life of her unborn child harder than she’s ever fought before, showcasing the strong character she’s been throughout the series.

Amarok is desperate to figure out who has taken Evelyn and where they are holding her. He goes up against all obstacles to try to get even a hint of a lead to go on in his search. He remains the amazingly supportive man we’ve seen by her side, and shows an additional softer side of him as his worry turns into desperation.

I highly recommend this book, and this series as a whole. To fully appreciate the plight in each book, I recommend you read in order from prequel through each full-length novel there after (Hanover House, Her Darkest Nightmare, Hello Again, Face Off and ending with Blind Spot). The only thing that would have made it complete for me as a die-hard fan of the series was more time with Evelyn and Amarok together and especially seeing how their future played out. Loved the series!

The story line was fresh, emotional and oh so satisfying!

If you’ve been following along with the series, Levi was already very familiar with you from Jules, Darby and DJ’s stories so he’s a draw immediately as you start to read. Learning about his past and watching him try not to open his heart to his ex again is quite entertaining.

Tanna is quick to snag the attention of the reader as well. She broke Levi’s heart, but it’s easy to spot the guilt that still eats her alive over her accident long ago. Seeing her finally allow herself to start to forgive is absolute gold.

I highly recommend this series as a whole, and this book was particularly sweet. If you enjoy a close knit family who doesn’t hesitate to step in to protect those they love, this family is for you. I’m looking forward to meeting more of Tanna’s family in future books!

Lia has never been one to settle down in life. She enjoys moving from town to town when the mood strikes her and picking up new adventures along the way. When approached to visit a sick family member of a friend, she is happy to do it … but Paul makes it clear she’s not all that welcome.

I recommend this book to anyone enjoying a very family centric plot that pops up a few secrets that have to be dealt with along the way towards that happily ever after.

WICKED SINNER is book two in Stacey Kennedy’s Dangerous Love series and brings together a police detective and his former high school girlfriend in a delectable reunion story. The story line is easy to become enthralled with and the characters are fun to get to know.

Remy almost immediately snagged this reader’s heart when upon hearing Asher object at her wedding, she thought her one true love had finally returned to claim her. He left her heartbroken years ago, so what’s a girl to think when she hears THAT voice just as she’s about to speak her vows to another man??

Asher was a complex character. On one hand I felt a grudge against him for how he had done Remy, but on the other hand, I admired his loyalty and devotion to protecting her from a conman.

I recommend this story to anyone enjoying some intrigue with their romance. It’s quirky and fun with just enough mystery to keep you hooked throughout.

Jason is an appealing character. There’s no question that he’s an extremely nice guy and reaches out to help Faith instantly, so it’s a treat to watch him learn to feel again as their relationship progresses.

Faith caught the reader’s eye quickly. She obviously had secrets right from the start, and someone was beginning to play games with her. Jason steps in to protect her and she quickly shares her past with him so he knows what they are dealing with.

Overall, it was a really sexy, fun read and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a fast paced drama with lots of sexy romance taking center stage. There was a touch of intrigue, lots of steamy goodness and just a bunch of good-hearted people in the mix. I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next in the series!

Jason had settled into a chair in the center of the shop, surveying the work going on around him. He’d already left once, returning with sandwiches and sodas for everyone. As the hours passed and he vacillated between returning messages on his phone and talking to the workmen he obviously knew, she grew more confused.

“Don’t you have somewhere else to be?” she asked him.

He raised an eyebrow as if to say, Really? “Nowhere more important. I want to make sure the work here is done correctly and this place looks exactly the way you want it.”

She appreciated his thoughtfulness, but he had to have better things to do than worry about her. “Okay, but I can handle that. I don’t want to take up more of your day than I already have. I can stick around until the guys are finished, lock up, and head home.”

He folded his strong arms over his chest, his olive-green Henley pulling tight over his muscles. “And do you think I’m going to leave you here alone after what you told me about your brother?”

She’d been pushing thoughts of Colton aside all day. “I have pepper spray on my keychain.” The words sounded ridiculous, even to her.

She was no match for her brother, and if he was strung out? He’d have a wiry strength she couldn’t handle. She knew that firsthand, memories of her hands trying to pull his wrists off her neck very clear in her mind.

“Okay, fine. I appreciate you making sure I get home safely.” She’d be a fool to fight Jason’s protective nature.

“You still don’t get it. But you will.” He shook his head, amusement warring with a more serious expression. “You’re coming home with me, sweetness. I’m not leaving you here or in that shitty walk-up with a crappy lock your brother could break with one good kick.”

“Hey! That’s my apartment you’re insulting!” And all she could afford.

“It’s only an insult if I’m wrong.” He studied her, as if daring her to argue.

“I can’t just move in with you!”

He sighed. “Fine. You need someone to vouch for me? We can call my partners. Or my sister. Or… Hey, Sam! Am I trustworthy?” Jason yelled out to the man who was just climbing down a ladder, her clean window staring back at her.

Sam strode up to them and looked from Jason to Faith and back again. “Best man I know. Take a look at this.” Reaching into his pocket, Sam pulled out his phone, then began scrolling through his pictures.

“This is my girl.” He turned the phone so Faith could see a picture of a grinning little pixie with a bright smile and a pom-pom hat on her bald head, no hair hanging down beneath the folded brim.

“She’s beautiful,” Faith said, sliding her finger over her face.

“And if it wasn’t for this guy introducing us to his sister, I don’t think my wife and I would have made it through the roughest parts of her illness.” He shoved his phone back into his pocket.

Looking up at Jason from beneath her lashes, she caught a flush on his cheeks.

“It just so happens I could help you, man. But I’m glad Sienna could do her part. She loves fundraising and doing anything she can for kids who’ve been through what she has.”

Faith would like to help her one day, when there was no danger following her around, she thought sadly. For now, though, she had to fight through her own problems and not bring them into other people’s lives.

“Thanks, Sam.” Jason all but dismissed his friend, who waved and walked back to the other guy helping him.

“So? Still think I’m a serial killer?” Jason asked her.

Filled with steamy laugh out loud moments! AWK-WEIRD is book two in Avery Flynn’s Ice Knights series and it’s utterly delightful! Think a sexy pro hockey player and a nerdy florist who can’t stop touting off trivia at the most awkward moments and add in an adorable kitten and you’ll know why you have to grab this book.

Tess is such an adorable character. She has that spouting trivia thing going for her, but overall she’s extremely smart and has a style all her own. She’s easy to like, she’s well developed and she’s just really fun to get to know.

Cole is a fun character. He brings a smile to a reader’s face easily, but he also had to be redeemed in our eyes because he kept one eye on the past he thought he was going to relive for a little too long for my liking.

Overall, it was lighthearted, funny and super sweet. I recommend it to anyone wanting a fast read filled with laughs and lots of heart. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series already!

ROOM TO BREATHE by Liz Talley is light, refreshing and filled with southern charm! Though some serious matters are tackled between a mother and her grown daughter, the dialogue is kept upbeat throughout with moments that have you laughing, while others pull at your heartstrings. I found the characters believable and their stories quite interesting.

Daphne is a complex character. As a reader, I found myself cheering for her and her side of things more often than not because though she’s a strong, independent lady, she hasn’t been treated fairly much in her life. She’s easy to connect with, easy to forgive her faults, and an inspiration to us all on how to enjoy the life that comes along when we least expect it.

Ellery is a character that it’s hard not to try to reach into the book and shake some sense into on occasion because she’s the very definition of a spoiled brat. The hard knocks of life come visiting her door though and she’s going to have to learn how to pull herself together and achieve greatness on her own.

I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting a story that draws you in and holds your attention through. I didn’t want to put it down because I just had to keep knowing what was going to happen next. The characters draw your attention in immediately and don’t let up on their drama filled lives. I really enjoyed Daphne and Ellery’s stories!
