A megacorporation starts killing patients…

And two exes must reunite to save lives!

When he discovers his patients’ lives are threatened, Dr. Paul Reilly can turn to only one person: Simone Black. She will have his back, even if they don’t agree on much else. But as the former lovers work together to track down the evildoers who are tampering with medications, they rediscover unexpected feelings for one another…even as an enemy wants to silence them permanently.

Exhilarating read! REUNITED BY THE BADGE is book three in Deborah Fletcher Mello’s To Serve and Seduce series and the return trip into the Black family’s world did not disappoint! The intrigue rose quickly and carried throughout the book, and even once the main protagonist was dealt with, we got a tidbit of a new mystery that’s going to carry forward into the series going forward that sounds really exciting. Can’t wait for a return trip!

Simone is a character that does not disappoint. Throughout the series she’s been strong-willed and steadfast in her devotion to her family and her ability to live life the way she wants to.

Paul is a character that grabs our attention quickly as the mystery he’s trying to solve heats up and more lives are in danger than ever. He brings a certain softness out in Simone that she doesn’t show for anyone else.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to read a fast paced story filled with non-stop action, close-knit family connections and a reuniting of former lovers. You can’t go wrong with any book in the series!

Their daughter’s marriage is a milestone they are determined to celebrate wholeheartedly, but they are hiding a huge secret about their own: they are on the brink of divorce. After living apart for the last six months, the last thing they need is to be trapped together in an irresistibly romantic winter wonderland.

Rosie’s older sister, Katie, is also dreading the wedding. Worried that impulsive, sweet-hearted Rosie is making a mistake, Katie is determined to save her sister from herself! If only the irritatingly good-looking best man, Jordan, would stop interfering with her plans…

Bride-to-be Rosie loves her fiancé but is having serious second thoughts. Except everyone has arrived—how can she tell them she’s not sure? As the big day gets closer, and emotions run even higher, this is one White family Christmas none of them will ever forget!

Sarah Morgan’s voice is always magical as she weaves tales of love, family and ever afters … but give her a wedding and a winter wonderland to work with and she’s pure delight! Her latest brings to life a family filled with uncertainty, change and the unknown as a couple on the verge of divorce comes together for their youngest daughter’s wedding amid family revelations, rediscovery and unknowns.

The characters are mesmerizing from the start. Maggie and Nick have been married for decades but secretly living apart from each other for half a year without informing their daughters. Now their youngest has sprung a sudden wedding on them and they decide they have to get through the festivities before they can break their daughter’s hearts with their news. Oldest daughter Katie is a self-confident doctor who has everyone believing she’s in charge of her life when she’s secretly falling apart and doubting every aspect she thought she knew in life after an encounter no one knows anything about. Youngest daughter Rosie is madly in love and has stars in her eyes to marry the man of her dreams, but she’s always been non-committal and impetuous … is this relationship truly developed enough to last or is she still just flitting wholeheartedly into her present joy until the next big thing comes along? Her sister’s doubts have her starting to doubt herself!

I highly recommend this book to anyone enjoying a beautifully written rendition of the ups and downs of family, love and life. The characters are a joy to read, the scene is painted beautifully as they roam the gorgeous snow covered hills just during the Christmas season and the emotional pull of each story touches a readers heart.

A sexy, small town, opposites attract rom com!

He wears suits and ties. He'll one day inherit a fortune. He has a law degree. He shines his shoes, for God's sake. What is she doing attracted to a guy like him? But she is. She so is.

She drives air boats on the bayou, drinks and cusses, and gives city boys in suits a hard time just for fun. Why can't he get her out of his mind? But he can't. He definitely can't.

A weekend trip to Savannah for a fancy-schmancy party with his highfalutin family is the surefire way to prove that they have nothing in common but intense chemistry. And to maybe scratch this I've-never-wanted-anyone-like-I-want-you itch once or twice. Or five times.

But it takes only about twenty-four hours for the bayou girl and the city boy to figure out that they don't really know much at all--about each other, or about themselves. And figuring all of this out is going to be downright crazy.

CRAZY RICH CAJUNS is the much-anticipated fourth book in the Boys of the Bayou series by Erin Nicholas and it is delightfully laugh out loud funny and chock full of smart-mouthed, dirty-talking goodness! Bayou Princess Kennedy has met her match in nerdy Bennett and the chemistry is explosive. I loved everything there is to love about this book!

Kennedy has been a hoot throughout this entire series and even more so in her own story. She gives as good as she gets and she never strays from speaking her mind. Watching her go head to head with her match is pure rom-com gold.

Bennett has been intriguing since he swooped in and invested in the business, and the fact that he’s taken with Kennedy even though she’s a pain to him in every way is so delicious. When he swoops in to whisk her away for a weekend at his ritzy family’s house in Savannah, we know things are about to get down and dirty.

I highly recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who loves hilarious moments intermixed with smoking hot connections between alpha males and their equally qualified women. You can’t go wrong with any book you pick up in the series, they are all great!

Excerpt

“Good morning, Miss Landry.”

“I’ve been on hold for fifteen freaking minutes, Mr. Baxter.”

Bennett grinned. She’d been on hold for four minutes. He knew because he’d been watching the time on his phone. He always kept her on hold for at least a couple. But he’d known to expect her to be dramatic about it no matter how long it was. Kennedy Landry wasn’t really the patiently-wait-on-hold type of woman. Kennedy Landry was, however, the type of woman that made a man want to take what tiny semblance of control he could find and grab onto it like it was a lifeboat in the midst of a hurricane.

Kennedy Landry was absolutely like a hurricane, and she’d already pulled him under and drowned him in lust and amusement and fascination and…

Shit, he was half in love with her, and if the only way he had to remind her that she didn’t always have the upper hand in every single one of their interactions was to make her wait on hold on the phone for a few minutes then yeah, he’d do it.

“Well, I’ve been waiting for the reports from last week since Monday,” he told her. “Seems waiting is something we should both get used to.” It was Thursday. She always made him wait until Friday for the reports she was supposed to send on Tuesday.

In part because that meant he’d call her about those reports on Wednesday and they’d fight-flirt for a few minutes. Something they both enjoyed far more than really made sense.

In part because her sending him the reports was ridiculous. He didn’t really need them—he was just curious—and she knew it.

She hated sending the reports, but only because it meant that she was answering to him on some level. She didn’t like that because she didn’t have him wrapped around her little finger like she did every other man she dealt with on a regular basis.

As far as she knew.

Bennett had been very careful not to let on just how tightly wrapped he already was.

“This call could be about an emergency,” she said in a bored voice that indicated: one, it was not an emergency, and two, she was trying really hard to sound bored and not like she was gritting her teeth.

Bennett loved that he rubbed her the wrong way. It only took about ten minutes around Kennedy to figure out that she ran the show with the men in her life. The only daughter and granddaughter in a family of outdoorsy, hardworking, loud-cussing, Louisiana born-and-bred men, Kennedy not only kept up with them on the hardworking and cussing thing, but she got away with murder. Her oldest brother, Sawyer, tried to make her toe the line, but even he was a sap for his baby sister, and it was rare that Kennedy didn’t get her way.

She knew how to handle blue-collar Cajun men, that was for sure.

Bennett wasn’t a blue-collar Cajun man.

Well, he was Cajun, on his mother’s side. But she’d married into money—a lot of money—very much on purpose and had long ago given up things like crawfish sucking and cursing in French. She had married into a white-collar, British-descended family in Savannah, neck-deep in politics and law and class and wealth and snobbery, while Kennedy had been neck-deep in, well, the Louisiana bayou. And everything that went along with that.

Bennett loved the bayou. And everything that went along with that.

Especially the sassy, goth-dressing, impossible-to-impress Cajun girl who thought that the fact he couldn’t fix a transmission, butcher an alligator, or bait a hook was downright embarrassing.

“If it was an emergency, you would have hung up and called back. Over and over again. Leaving progressively more and more threatening messages about what you were going to do to me when you did finally get a hold of me,” he told her, signing off on the bottom of the letter he’d just finished and moving it to the side.

“I would never do that,” she said.

“No?” When she did finally send him reports, it was always in folders that were named things like I’m Not Your Fucking Secretary and If You Ask Me to Get You Coffee It Will Definitely Have Turtle Shit in It.

“If I really needed your attention, I’d start texting. Photos. Naked photos.”

His entire body reacted to that. He cleared his throat. “I would definitely—”

“Of my grandfather.”

Bennett paused. Then groaned. He knew her grandfather. Leo Landry was a great guy. Funny, down-to-earth, honest, loyal. And someone that Bennett absolutely did not ever want to see naked. Ever.

“You’re an evil woman.”

“Remember that.”

To date, she’s written over thirty sexy, contemporary novels that have been described as “toe-curling,” “enchanting,” “steamy,” and “fun.” She adores reluctant heroes, imperfect heroines, and happily ever afters.

Under the mistletoe, all bets are off…

Christmas with his real family…
And his fake fiancé!

Developer Tate Duncan has everything under control--until he discovers his family isn't his own. Now, only the sympathy and sexiness of yoga instructor Hayden Green offers escape. He needs her. So he entices her to spend Christmas with him as he meets his birth parents…posing as his fiancée! But when they give in to dangerously real attraction, their ruse—and the secrets they’ve been keeping—could implode!

CHRISTMAS SEDUCTION is book four in Jessica Lemmon’s The Bachelor Pact series and brings us the story of a real estate developer and a yoga instructor in what just might be my favorite of the series! Emotions are high, tension is pounding and a happily-ever-after occurs just when they least expect it.

Tate obviously caught our attention in the previous book when we learned of his existence and were thrown for a loop with his back story. This book really gets to the heart and soul of how he’s feeling now that his world has been turned upside down. He’s a really great character and I enjoyed him very much.

Hayden is a bit complex. She’s very zen and seems in control of her universe in so many ways, but the backlash of family expectations and drama are a drain to her emotions. Meeting Tate and starting a bit of a fling just when they are both feeling a bit raw seems innocent enough … until emotions start to connect and they’re in for more than they ever bargained for.

I highly recommend this story, and to get a full connection to all of the players, I recommend you play catch up and read all of the series in order. They are all fast paced and delightful with a strong backdrop of friendship, family and sexy romance. It’s been a great series!

He shouldn’t have said yes…

After their one night together,
there are explosive consequences.

When he disappeared after their last sizzling encounter, artist Fiona James vowed to forget rebellious billionaire Hartley Tarleton. Now Hartley has returned to Charleston to deal with the skeletons in his family’s closet—and maybe turn his searing chemistry with Fiona into more than a one-night thing. But now she's pregnant with the heir Hartley swore he'd never have!

BOMBSHELL FOR THE BLACK SHEEP is book three in Janice Maynard’s Southern Secrets series and brings the family full circle when the elusive brother returns with a family secret that will rock their foundation!

Hartley was mentioned in the previous two books in this series and we knew that he unexpectedly left town and there’s question about what he might have been doing in the company beforehand. This story brings him home with a secret that he’s not sure he wants to share with his siblings. He sets out to mend fences with the woman that rocked his world and stole a piece of his heart just prior to him leaving town because he needs a big favor.

Fiona let Hartey into her life not once, but twice only to have him tuck and run without saying goodbye and with no explanation, so to let him get away with it again, she’d be a fool … only he’s hard to resist, especially when she gets the whole story out of him. Problem is, she realizes she’s pregnant just as he’s decided he will never bring a child into this world.

I highly recommend this book and the entire series. Each sibling’s love story was commanding and heartfelt, and the series as a whole gave a really fulfilling story. I really enjoyed it and wish there were a few more siblings to hear about!

Now armed with the knowledge that her mother’s a spy, Kendra must go undercover as her sister to protect her family. But can she and FBI analyst Joe Rose expose a government mole…before they all end up dead?

COVERT CHRISTMAS TWIN is the second book in Heather Woodhaven’s Twins Separated at Birth duet and revolves around a FBI Special Agent and FBI analyst in a rush against time to find out who’s corrupt.

Kendra is a hard-nosed federal agent who shows her softer side in this book. She stops at nothing to find out who their biological mother is, but meeting her and finding out she’s a spy leaves her racing to get her sister out of danger by trading places with her again.

Joe is in the right place at the right time to be drawn into her mother’s plot to keep the girls safe and try to take down the organization trying to steal top secret data.

I recommend this story to anyone who read the first book and is looking for answers about their parents and how they came to be separated at birth.

TANGLED WITH A TEXAN by Yvonne Lindsay is the eighth book in the Texas Cattleman’s Club: Houston series and is sure to enthrall reader’s of the series. We are quick to be drawn into the story line of new players on the scene when a detective from Houston tangles with a local rancher in this explosive read.

Zoe bursts on the scene as a detective from Houston who is heading to Royal, TX to find out who had motive to murder the guy on the land of the Texas Cattleman’s Club.

Cord is willing to play hard ball and distract the headstrong cop because he is protective of his friend and neighbor Jesse when she starts pushing her weight around in order to question him right at the time that there’s a bit of a family emergency.

The chemistry between Zoe and Cord was attention grabbing, and I recommend this book to anyone enjoying a lot of sass and controversy in their romance. The characters were a fun addition to the ones we already know in the series, and the story added a nice bit of drama. Looking forward to more to come in the series as we head towards finding out who is behind the trouble.

An opposites attract story line between high class Sophie Monroe and hardworking cowboy Zeke Roosevelt is quick to heat up and take us for a ride towards happily ever after.

A mysterious visitor at the door…

Can danger be far behind?

Quarter Horse breeder Fox Colton is a loner by nature. So when an anonymous infant appears on his doorstep, he reluctantly takes in the baby—and new assistant Kelsey Lauder. As he grows to cherish his unexpected family, Fox works to track down Baby John Doe’s real parents. But when secrets from Fox’s own past are unearthed, he could find himself alone again, just as he’s come to love the new people in his life.

As the tenth book in The Colton’s of Roaring Springs series, Regan Black’s COLTON FAMILY SHOWDOWN is quick to delight with a mystery arriving on the scene almost instantly.

Fox is a bit of a loner, feeling on the outside of his family but loyal to a fault to the Crooked C Ranch. When an infant is left on his doorstep, he sets out to find out who the baby belongs to, bringing his new assist and temporary nanny along for the ride.

Kelsey is secretive, and we’re a little unsure of whether she’s trustworthy or not at first, but once her story comes out, we understand her dilemma.

I recommend this story to anyone enjoying a good mystery involving a baby. The character’s attachment to the little guy was heartwarming, and the mystery was powerful enough to hold our attention. There wasn’t a lot of movement towards solving the series wide Avalanche Killer mystery, but this individual one was satisfying enough to carry the story.

With a dash of Christmas magic...
Two people who have spent most of their lives being rivals...
Learn a little something about following their hearts...

Carter Montgomery broke the family mold when he went to culinary school. Now a successful restauranteur, he's at a crossroads: should he continue on his successful path or look for a new challenge? What he needs is time alone to think things through. But his matchmaking family has other ideas...

Emery Monaghan's no-good fiancé has embroiled her in scandal and she needs a way out. When mentor Eliza Montgomery offers her a refuge, she's relieved—until she realizes that the deal means rubbing elbows with Eliza's son Carter—Emery's childhood nemesis.

A DASH OF CHRISTMAS is the next book in Samantha Chase’s beloved Montgomery Brothers series and brings us the story of restaurateur Carter and childhood nemesis Emery in a really adorable take on an enemies to lovers story.

Carter comes across as a bit cold and moody in the beginning, but it doesn’t take him long to warm a reader’s heart to his plight. He went against the family grain to become a chef and successful restaurant owner, so he is struggling with the right move when he wants to expand into something different.

Emery feels a bit beaten down when she comes into the first scene, but a few days in Carter’s company has the sassy spitfire he used to deal with coming back to life and challenging him tooth and nail. His mom might think she’s being smooth trying to fix them up together, but there’s no way they can stop hating each other long enough to consider the dating potential … right?

I recommend this book to anyone loving a good enemies to lovers story with a strong, sassy dialogue between the characters. This entire series has been delightful, so you can’t go wrong picking up any book featuring a Montgomery.
