I really enjoyed the connection between them and both the characters and the plot were well developed. This entire series has been great!

Former Navy SEAL Marcus Denali isn’t so sure about this whole dating scene idea, but he’s fallen to peer pressure and has agreed to get set up through Military Match dating site. When his perfect match winds up being trouble, what’s a man to do?

Mandy Lawson simply needs Marcus to forget about the fact that she’s younger than him and that she’s Trent’s little sister and she’ll be set! She wants everything he has to offer her … if only she can get him to let his guard down and stop using all of these excuses to push her away!

They each were fun to get to know on their own, and their chemistry together was super fun. This was a quick and easy read, with not a lot of depth into their back stories other than what we needed to know to set the stage, but it was a really fun read none-the-less!

Brent “Mac” MacMillan has big plans as the new owner of The Players Club. He wants to jazz the place up and bring in an even more top notch clientele to his favorite sex club, so he’s planning to bring in the best to do a little remodeling … only problem is, the best is temptation personified!

Stephanie Randall has been a thorn in Mac’s side ever since he met her. She’s got a sassy mouth and flirts like nobody’s business … and he likes it! Only problem is, he only pays with people experienced in the lifestyle he enjoys, and though she seems very curious, she is a novice! As she digs her heals in on the remodel project, she can’t help but tempt Mac on a regular basis, and eventually they agree to have a little fun, but only on a temporary basis. Stephanie strolled toward Mac, a mischievous glimmer suddenly brightening her gorgeous blue eyes, putting him on alert. “I’d like to attend the Masquerade party at The Players Club on Saturday, to get a better feel for the club and what other fantasy elements might work for your members.”

He stiffened at her unexpected request. The temptation of having her in this domain—wanting her but refusing to touch her—wasn’t something he wanted to endure. And watching her possibly hook up with someone else, like Rick? Complete fucking agony.

He shook his head. “I don’t think attending the Masquerade party is necessary. I’m sure you can come up with a few other ideas without being here when everything is in full swing, which is probably going to be more distracting, than helpful.”

“What if I want to be here?” the little vixen proposed, her voice holding a hint of a challenge. “You know, to mix a little business with pleasure?”

His expression remained composed, his resolve, firm. “I’m going to have to say no.”

She tipped her head to the side, studying him much too astutely. “I can always get an invitation from Jillian, you know,” she said as she came closer and closer.

“No, you can’t,” he countered. “I put a freeze on any new invitations until I’m done going through the current membership.”

She laughed softly, huskily, the sound like a stroke along his cock. Much like her hand was suddenly stroking down the length of his tie before giving it a playful tug. “Do I make you nervous, Mac?”

His hands curled into fists in his pockets, because it was taking extreme effort not to grasp her face in his palms and kiss that soft, plush, impudent mouth of hers—hot and hard and deep. “Do I look like a man who’d be intimidated by any woman?” he asked, his voice surprisingly steady.

She thought about that for a brief moment before giving her hair a subtle toss and replying. “Intimidated, no.” Then a sexy, knowing smile curved her lips. “Nervous, definitely, because if you weren’t a little uneasy about whatever this thing is between us, you wouldn’t have an issue with me coming to the Masquerade party and being at the club.”

“The last thing you make me feel is uneasy.” Instead, her presence had lust pumping through him like a heady surge of adrenaline. She was certainly testing his control.

Her free hand came back up and splayed on his chest, the heat of her touch searing him through his dress shirt. “If I don’t make you nervous, then prove it,” she cajoled. “Let me come to the party on Saturday. I promise not to be too shocked by what I see.”

His jaw clenched as she met his gaze and held it, so bold and brazen when she really had no idea what she was messing with, or what he was capable of. This woman was no shrinking violet, and she was the furthest thing from the kind of submissive, obedient female he preferred—and Jesus, Christ, his dick was hard as stone for her. This was a woman who liked having the advantage, who enjoyed a little power play, and fuck if that didn’t make him want to pin her against the wall behind her and make it very clear who really had the upper hand between them.

“So, what will it be, Mr. MacMillan?” she murmured huskily. “Inviting me to the club on Saturday, or are you going to chicken out?”

Margot stood on tiptoe, both hands clutching the front of his t-shirt, and kissed him full on the mouth. Their ragged breaths mingled a moment. He tasted the brown sugar in her lipgloss before she broke free, pressing a quick second kiss to the tip of his nose.

“Go to bed,” she whispered, clearing her throat and stepping back. “And have a great game tomorrow.”

It took every last shred of Patch’s willpower not to close the space again, to consume her. “There’s something else you should know.”

“Shoot.”

“I’m not going to get a lick of sleep if you leave.”

“If I stay, you won’t sleep either,” she shot back, shrugging into her jacket.

“I’ll take those odds.”

She shook her head slowly as if with reluctance. “I’ve got to fold. “Goodnight.”

He took her hand and held it between his own. Her skin was cooler than his. He didn’t like that. He wanted to tuck her against him, warm her up. “Do me a favor and call when you get home. I want to know you got back safe, especially driving on that spare.”

“It’s been a long time since anyone has cared if I got home,” she said with a smile. “Careful, you might be turning into a gentleman.”

“Don’t get carried away. The things that I want to do to you are far from gentlemanly,” he said in a husky tone.

She rocked her head back and unleashed a frustrated moan. “Quit leading me into temptation. I’m trying to respect your virtue here.”

“My virtue can take a long jump off a short fucking bridge.”

“That might be. But . . .if we end up taking that jump. I want it to be special. That’s important. I want you to feel special.”

Blood rushed to his ears. “Funny, I feel the same way about you.”

“Then we’re in agreement and I’m leaving.” A wicked gleam entered her gaze. “But while you wait for my call, slip into something more comfortable.”

“Like?”

“Nothing at all.”

She blew a kiss, pirouetted, and was gone.

Together, they are really special. I really loved their story! The characters are well-developed and extremely powerful, the plot is intriguing and the overall enjoyment of the story is easy. The only thing I would have wanted more of is interaction with the club and clubhouse a little more, but overall a great read!

As the Sergeant-at-Arms of the Raven Riders Motorcycle Club, Caine McKannon works hard to keep the only thing that means a thing to him in this world safe … his brothers. He keeps his distance because he learned long ago that love hurts, but he’d do anything in the world for his club. He has his fun when it’s convenient, but never anything more … with anyone … until she appears in his life.

Kindergarten teacher Emma Kerry is extremely thankful when a mystery stranger comes to her rescue during an attack. He’s a standoffish MC guy with a hard stare, lots of ink and a body hard as steel … but she swears she sees something else when she looks into his eyes. Their journey is touching, as well as exciting. Great read!

Keira O’Malley will do anything to keep her family safe … even make a deal with the devil! She might be the youngest of the O’Malley siblings, but she’s been touched by the crime and trauma of their lifestyle just as much if not more as each of her siblings. She finally checked out of life a couple of years ago when one loss took her breath and her foundation away. Now if she has to marry Mr. Evil himself in the form of Dmitri Romanov, so be it … at least her siblings will have peace!

Russian Dmitri Romanov has been trying to get an “in” with the O’Malley family for years now, but keeps being foiled. When he set his sights on Keira, it became personal because she is unlike any previous conquest. She’s gotten underneath his skin without even trying to. He can see the broken soul that lives beneath the iron will and heated barbs she throws his way on a constant basis. It might still be all about business, but having this firecracker as his wife is going to be a delight if it’s the last thing he does!

An exciting kick-off to Barb Han’s latest series! We’re quickly thrust into the middle of the action as Holden rescues Ella and their stories begin to unfold. The mystery is kept alive throughout the book with us following snippets of clues to try to figure out alongside them who the immediate threat is to her, and to find out once and for all who set him up for a fall two years ago. The characters are easily likable and fairly well developed. The plot keeps us guessing up until the end!

Accidentally witnessing a murder attempt is not a position Holden Crawford wanted to be put in, but once it happens, he can’t refuse helping the victim … even though he recognizes her as being from one of the wealthiest families in Cattle Barge, TX and it could put him in the spotlight. Holden has been on the run for two years now for crimes he was accused of but didn’t commit … he’s living his life under the radar and without contact with anyone, but for this woman, he’s going to have to make an exception!

Ella Butler is woozy and unsure when she wakes up in a cabin with a strange man. He’s not super forthcoming with answers, but he did rescue her when he didn’t have to, so he can’t really be a bad guy … can he? When danger rears it’s ugly head again when she tries to go to the authorities, he finds himself circling back to help her again and taking her on the run with him. As the story of his past comes out, they set out to find answers that will free both of their torments.

Tormented intrigue! A powerful plot takes us on an emotional journey of second chances and overcoming trauma. The characters are really easy to like and grab out attention quickly. The plot is disturbingly unique and has the potential to be great … while it falls a little flat in some parts, it’s still a really interesting read!

Mila Ramirez has worked hard to overcome her past, but she’s afraid it’s suddenly coming back to haunt her! Getting past a childhood raised by twisted serial killer parents was hard enough, but now dead bodies seem to be turning up around her and bringing all of those ugly memories rushing to her mind! Is this somehow about her? And if so, who has set their sights on tormenting her … and why?

It doesn’t take long for police chief Sam Douglas to realize there’s more to Mila than meets the eye. He sort of takes her under his wing to ease her discomfort after the first crime scene surfaces, and winds up really liking her. But there seems to be some connection to her and murders … can he figure out what it is before another body shows up?

Little Angels by Amy Romine

Meredith returned to her apartment for a shower and hopefully a nap. The sun was setting, and the room filled with hues of pink and gold. Meredith closed the door with a sigh and threw her jacket and purse on the couch before moving to the bedroom.

Abruptly, there was a pounding on the door, and Meredith turned with a sigh. She kicked off her shoes and walked to the door. The instant she opened it, it pushed back and Devon burst through, holding a blanket in his arms. It took her a moment to realize what was happening.

“Devon, what are…” she started. He moved to the couch, dropping the blanket upon it. Meredith observed his frantic movements in confusion, and then saw a small hand fall from the folds of the blanket. “Oh my God…”

Devon blocked her movement toward the girl in annoyance, and gripped her arms tightly.

“What are you doing?” she asked him.

“Don’t touch her,” he growled.

“Let me go—what did you do?” she asked him, her heart racing. She stared into his black eyes and a cold dread raced down her back.

“You have to help me, Tal,” he said, the coldness never leaving his eyes.

“Let me go!” she growled back at him, breaking free from his grasp.

She ran to the couch and began unwrapping the small form. Her chest hurt with every revealed layer, and her knees weakened in horror. The blanket slid away, revealing the girl’s small face. Meredith tried to hold back the anger and pain, but couldn’t. She reached out, feeling for the girl’s pulse. She found one, weak, but it was there.

“She’s still alive—Devon,” Meredith turned in hope. He stared back at her blankly. “Did you hear me? She’s still alive, Devon! We can take her to a hospital…”

“Tal,” he said in an icy and controlled tone. She moved to her shoes, pulling them back on.

“My car is just out front, if we take the stairs there’s a less likely—” Meredith grabbed her coat. Turning back to the girl, Meredith stopped. She heard a popping sound, and her knees collapsed beneath her.

No, please, no…

Devon looked back to her, a stark rage consuming his face. He rushed her, pulling her off the ground and slamming her against the wall. “You will not tell anyone what happened.”

“Devon—”

He put his hand around her neck and began to squeeze. “I…”

“Talia, I need you to understand…” he said, continuing to squeeze the air out of her. “Baby, I need you to—”

Meredith weakly nodded her head and reached out to touch his face gently. His grip loosened and released. She fell forward, gasping, landing in his arms. He held her tightly against him.

“Tal…Tal…it was an accident.” He rocked her in his arms. “You have to believe me, baby, you have to understand.”

Meredith couldn’t move. She stared at the body of the dead child bleeding on her couch. Everything he said was a blur, and eventually she felt him move and leave her. He returned with a black garbage bag and began pushing the child’s body into it. She watched the scene unfold, but was powerless to do anything to change it.

The door slammed, and she sat staring at the now blood-soaked cushions.

Time ceased to exist. The scene playing out repeatedly in her mind. There was no movement, no sound, no thought, just the child’s face and the blood.

She was cold.

She was empty.

She was dead.

An emotional journey of loss and how to move forward afterwards. Erin and Burke nabbed my attention quickly. I felt for both of them for how their story of the past played out. She was went one way in her life while he went another and now that they have a possibility of a future in front of them again, it’s hard for her to rectify the choices she made previously into a decision for her current future. She made it a little difficult to like her because she was so rigid, but his devotion to how he felt for all of these years even softened the edges of her prickliness. I really enjoyed their story!

Burke Daniels isn’t sure what he should be feeling right now considering his fiancee just left him standing at the altar, but relief probably isn’t part of it! He left Findlay Roads fifteen years ago with a broken heart, and now here he is living there again and at the point of starting over.

Erin Daniels might have chosen his brother over him all those years ago, but she never said she didn’t have feelings for him. And after losing his brother a couple of years ago, she’s trying to pick up the pieces and carry on for the sake of their son. Having Burke back on the scene is bittersweet. She can still see the man she fell for all those years ago, and she also sees the mature man he’s become who is bringing her son out of his lonely shell more than she’s seen since his father died. They say you can’t go back again … but is it possible to start fresh regardless of the past between them?
