A modern day Cinderella story! With the second book in their New York Vipers hockey series, Bennett and Keenan are matching team owner Julian Langley with his temporary chauffer Harper Hawthorne. The draw was subtle, yet distinct and getting to know each of them better was rewarding. Both characters have a back story that makes their life what it is today, but the fact that he doesn’t open up about his makes for a bit of a disconnect once they reach a certain point. I liked the plot, and the characters both had a lot going for them. I’m looking forward to more to come in the series.
My favorite character by far was Harper. She doesn’t hesitate a bit to give up anything she needs to in order to make sure her little brother has the life he deserves, and that really touched me.
I recommend this book as well as the first in the series which I loved even harder, to anyone who enjoys a hockey romance with a whole lot of heart attached to each and every character.
