Best friends to lovers is a risky game...

Pro hockey player Aaron Ferrar has shit luck with women. With one divorce, one psycho, and far too many one-night stands under his belt, he can’t seem to break his bad dating habits. He knows he’s not good enough for his sweet, sexy best friend, so he would never go there, but it’s getting harder and harder to resist her.

Veterinary assistant Sara Chandler has floundered since graduating from college. She left both academia and hockey behind, and now she’s a nanny for her best friend while working part-time at a local veterinary clinic until she gets into veterinarian school. She’s always been hot for her hockey-playing best friend, but she’s not in his league and she’s leaving Anchorage soon anyway.

When disaster strikes, Aaron doesn’t hesitate to jump in, but nothing is ever going to be the same for them. He doesn’t know how to help her and neither of them ever do things the easy way.

The forbidden is often the most attractive! With the fifth book in her Alaska Blizzard series, Kat Mizera delights us with Aaron and Sara’s story in SAVING SARA. A friends to lovers romance with plenty of drama, hockey action and steamy hookups is sure to please.

Aaron is jaded on himself and romantic entanglements these days, so it makes him all the more attractive to a reader. If he doesn’t think he can be the man that Sara needs, then we’ll just have to silently cheer him on from the sidelines … right?

Sara is all mixed up. She wants Aaron, but she’s not sure what else she wants out of life yet and her conflicting decisions are making a mess of what could be the most promising attention she’s ever gotten out of him.

I recommend this book to anyone loving a romance with a hockey background and a close knit group of friends who consider themselves family. The series has been a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to more happily ever afters to come.

About the Author:

USA Today Bestselling and award-winning author Kat Mizera is a South Florida native. Born in Miami Beach with a healthy dose of wanderlust, she’s called Los Angeles, Long Island, upstate New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Atlanta home. She’s never been able to pick which locale is her favorite, but if pressed, she’d probably choose the west coast.

A typical PTA mom with a wonderful and supportive husband (Kevin) and two amazing boys (Nick and Max), Kat can usually be found scrapbooking or indulging in her second love (after writing) – traveling. Greece is one of her favorite places in the world. She loves that Athens is a big city with a small-town feel. The food, beaches and culture keep her going back as often as possible.

Kat’s been a working freelance writer for nearly 30 years. She sold her first article–a review of a rock concert–for $10 in 1985. Since then she’s been an entertainment journalist, waitress, bartender, legal assistant, food critic, magazine editor, substitute teacher, and sports writer. She also spent some time working at A & M Records in Los Angeles.

As you can guess from her Las Vegas Sidewinders series, Kat loves hockey and occasionally writes articles about her favorite team, the Florida Panthers. The rest of the time, she writes novels: sexy, romantic fiction that she hopes makes you as happy as it makes her. There’s something enticing about hockey players and romance…
