Her forgiveness is the only win that matters

Former defense attorney Cedar Wilson is on a mission for redemption. After losing sight of everything but winning, he betrayed the love of his life, Heather Michaels, to help a guilty man go free—a wrong he finally has a chance to make right when a potential new witness checks into The Lemonade Stand shelter.

Cedar needs Heather’s help as a top polygraphist to uncover the truth. And while he has no right to expect her forgiveness, the passion between them makes Cedar believe they could still have a future together. Maybe solving one case can fix two mistakes…

Redemption after betrayal! It’s sadly the end of an era as Tara Taylor Quinn’s last book in the famed Harlequin Superromance line is upon us. I personally have devoured and adored book after book from her for years on end, and it’s sad to see the line end. Never fear! We do have more books to look forward to soon, just under a different Harlequin line. That said, sadly this book fell a little flat for me. You might think that the person that did the betrayal would be the one making it hard to connect with in this couple, but in reality, I felt more connected to Cedar than I did to the victim, Heather. There were redeeming qualities to the story, and the big unexpected spin towards the end was an “a-ha!” moment indeed. Looking forward to seeing the The Lemonade Stand in the future.

Former defense attorney Cedar Wilson is on a mission to right the wrongs he created in life when he lost sight of why he became an attorney in the first place and started caring only about the win and the prestige. He lost the love of his life when he manipulated a situation in which he had asked for her help on a case … and it opened his eyes to the person he had become.

Polygraphist Heather Michaels walked away from the relationship she thought would last forever when Cedar showed a side to him she wanted no part of. She isn’t sure why he’s reaching out to her now, but she really has no trust left for his word at this point. When she learns of the mission he’s wanting help with, she agrees to go to The Lemonade Stand shelter and talk to the person who may hold the answers they need. She really hopes this doesn’t come back to bite her!
