Firefighter Shae McCullough is all-in, all the time. When her reckless response at a fire earns her a two-week penance filing paperwork for the arson investigation unit, the rules and routines are enough to bore her senseless. But the discovery of a possible arson at a murder scene has her instincts fired up, and when Shae is assigned to assist Remington’s elite intelligence unit with their investigation, she’s all too ready to jump in with both boots first.

To tech and surveillance expert James Capelli, logic isn’t just a job requirement, it’s a way of life. He’s less than thrilled to work with Shae, whose impulsiveness threatens his sanity and whose curves threaten his composure. Despite their differences, they uncover a case bigger than anyone could have expected—along with an attraction that burns deep.

But this killer is no stranger, and Capelli’s got a dark past. Can he and Shae outsmart a ruthless murderer, or will his secrets bury them both?

Explosive! A sexy female firefighter meets her match when she gets paired with the tech guru in Remington PD’s intelligence unit. Sparks fly and opposites attract as they find themselves knee deep in an investigation neither of them expected … and outrunning danger at every turn! Great characters, familiarity from previous books, and an exciting plot. Looking forward to more in the series!

Firefighter Shae McCullough is feisty! She goes all in at every turn and she doesn’t believe in backing down from danger. Her gutsy attitude has gotten her into trouble on more than one occasion, and this time she’s really done it! A two week suspension from the firehouse is going to be torture! Her only saving grace is that they didn’t send her home to twiddle her thumbs … at least she still gets to go work at the boring arson division.

James Capelli works with the Remington Police Department as an IT and surveillance specialist. He’s logical and all about following the rules and being a “by the books” kind of guy. When he gets involved working with Shae on an arson investigation, he can’t deny he’s attracted to her .. but she’s so against the rules! She jumps into something without thinking while he examines every possible outcome before proceeding … she would drive him crazy! But he finds he just can’t resist her. When danger rears it’s ugly head in her direction from someone from his dark past, will he be able to keep her safe?
