If there’s a way to her heart…

…he’ll jump at the chance!

CEO Shane Monroe sticks out like a sore thumb in Second Chance, Idaho, where he’s investigating his grandfather’s connection to the town’s folklore of stolen treasure. Feisty local Franny Clark ridicules his city-slicker ways but allows Shane to hunt for gold on her land…if he can help save her rodeo ranch. Shane is captivated by Franny’s go-getting attitude, but what will it take for him to win her over?

The matching of the Monroes continues in the fourth book of The Mountain Monroes series by Melinda Curtis. In LASSOED BY THE WOULD-BE RANCHER we get to know Shane Monroe better and watch him meet his match in Franny Clark. This series has many characters to keep track of with a large family and a town surrounding them, but each story brings us a new happy ending for one of the grandchildren sent to Second Chance, Idaho to discover what it meant to their grandfather.

Shane has been outspoken and intrusive in the previous books of the series, so I didn’t go into this book liking him all that much. Luckily things change … and he showed a whole other side of himself when he interacted with Franny and her family.

Franny is a force to be reckoned with and you can’t help but love her spunk. She has heartache and pain in her recent past, but she doesn’t let it mire her down. She’s determined to make the best of what she’s got … and if Shane wants to be a part of that, she’s game!

I recommend this book and the entire series to anyone enjoying a family centered series that has various members of the family finding their happily ever after along the way as they strive towards figuring out a mystery. I loved seeing a couple more family members come into the story line heavier in this book and can’t wait to get to know them more.
