Her secret Christmas wish

Dr. Grace Forbes's dramatic first day in Manhattan Mercy ER is unforgettable—especially when she runs into her old flame, ER chief Charles Davenport, again!

That spark is still there between them but they're different people now—after losing his wife, Charles is a single dad to adorable twin boys, while Grace has survived cancer but lost her dream of having children. Yet, as the weather gets colder, she is drawn into the warmth of his family—could he make her Christmas wish come true?

Alison Roberts tugs on our emotions with the best of them!  A heartwarming story about learning to live again after loss and personal tragedy. The characters are developed throughout the story as we learn bits about each of their pasts and watch them remember the past they shared together with fondness. Neither is looking for the other when they reconnect, but it doesn’t take them long to figure out it was meant to be! Looking forward to more in this series!

Dr. Grace Forbes has been dreading her first day at Manhattan Mercy’s ER because it was going to reconnect her with a flame from her past, Charles Davenport who just happens to be her new boss! Being thrown head first into a drastic first day in the ER manages to make the re-introduction much easier than expected and they find themselves remembering old times fondly before they know it.

Dr. Charles Davenport feels like he has lived an entire life since he last saw Grace. He prospered in his career, wed a wonderful woman and proceeded to lose her and be left to parent their adorable twin sons on his own. He’s not looking to stir up his life, but the attraction between he and Grace doesn’t seem to have dwindled after all of these years! She’s been through hard times herself and is just now coming back out into the world to enjoy it after beating cancer … and as bittersweet as it is to be around his sons knowing she can’t have children of her own, she begins to adore them as soon as she has her first meeting!
