Filled with intrigue and romance.  Keeps you guessing until the last few pages about who’s been behind all the happenings and trouble over the years.

Mackenzie Boudin and Josh Slater were a couple 10 years ago, until the day he just up and walked out on her with no explanation just after she had lost her parents in a plane crash.  For 10 years she’s pined for him wondering what she had done to send him away.  For 10 years he’s been secretly an operative for OPAQUE trying to find out who had ordered the hit on Mackie’s parents, and who had paid his Dad to tamper with the plane.

He left her because he didn’t want to hurt her and have her hate him when she found out her parents plane crash wasn’t an accident, and that he was the son of the man who made it happen.  He’s kept tabs on her through the years through his boss, her Uncle Drake, also the head of OPAQUE.

Loved this book!  I hadn’t read any of the previous ones in the Game On in Seattle series yet, but you don’t need to in order to enjoy this one.  It’s a totally stand alone story.  Really enjoyed getting to know the characters and falling in love with them.  Tanner is one of those guys you love to hate at times, but when you get to the parts where you can see down deep inside him, he becomes attached to your heart!  I will definitely be going back to read those earlier books to see who else I can notch on my bedpost. 🙂

Emma Maxwell is one of four daughters of once big time rock legends.  She’s the good girl of the family who always does the right thing.  Except on Wednesday nights when she’s been sneaking around to have a blast on stage singing Karaoke, regardless of a “never going to sing” pact she has had for years with her sisters.

Tanner Wolfe is the bad boy Quarterback of the Seattle Steelheads.  Emma has been crushing on him for years, but is always too shy to have much to say to him when he’s hanging around with her sister Izzy who he’s good friends with.  When he’s out for a quiet good time, hoping not to catch the attention of his new team owners, he runs into her at the casino where she’s singing.  One thing leads to another and they have a moment.  Then all hell breaks loose and a short time later, they find themselves temporarily married.

“Whose idiot idea was it for us to come to the casino on karaoke night?” Tanner groused. He’d already lost too much money playing a couple rounds of blackjack so gambling was out but so was calling it a night. Tanner didn’t want to go home either.

“Yours,” Hunter, Cam, and Grady answered at the same time.

“Oh,” Tanner sighed and studied the bar menu, suddenly hungry.

“Hey,” Grady tugged on his sleeve and pointed with his finger, “isn’t that your brother’s fiancée?”

Tanner snapped his head around so fast he almost got whiplash. The lady in question stood on a dark stage under a spotlight, a microphone grasped in her hand. Rubbing the back of his neck, Tanner squinted into the lights of the small stage.

“Holy crap,” he said under his breath. His dick hardened in record time. The woman in question wore a tight pink top showing a liberal amount of tasty cleavage and a swishy, mid-thigh skirt. Her honey blond hair spilled over her shoulders and down her back. A very nice back and even nicer ass, he noted, as she bent down to pick up the mic. She wasn’t tall, but she was just his size with those long, long legs which stretched to heaven and back.

All kinds of wicked scenarios designed to piss off his brother played through his mind. He couldn’t imagine why Avery would be here dressed like that without his overbearing ass of a brother stuck to her side. They must have had a fight. Maybe they broke up, making her ripe for rebound sex. Or maybe—

Tanner frowned. Something wasn’t quite right.

“Shit,” he swore under his breath. Tanner noticed details, a talent which had made him an elite college quarterback able to read defenses with a glance. Sadly, that particular talent hadn’t helped him in the pros—yet.

No, that delectable vixen on stage wasn’t Avery, but Emma, the sweet twin sister. Tanner leaned forward and licked his lips. Emma? Dressed like that?

He shook his head, pretty sure the world might be coming to an end any minute. Considering Izzy was one of his closest friends, he knew the sisters pretty well and Bella really well; actually maybe too well because his brief involvement with Bella had created tension between Izzy and him. He hated that.

Tanner watched mesmerized as usually quiet, buttoned-up Emma morphed into a hot, sultry siren. She sang and danced on stage like a pro, reminding him she’d been raised with music in her life because of her parents’ status as two-hit wonders. Emma’s party-crashing side job most likely contributed to her stage presence. In their teens, the sisters had literally sung for their supper by crashing parties in order to get their next meal. They were so good at taking a dud party and turning it into a success, they started a party crashing business, which he understood was becoming quite lucrative.

Hell, he’d even paid them to crash one of his parties—yet he’d never noticed Emma in stage mode before, maybe because he’d been too busy screwing Bella in a closet.

BOOK REVIEW – Hidden Impact – Piper J. Drake

Really enjoyed this book!  It’s action packed from the start and only gets more exciting as time goes on.  An easy to follow read with lots of drama, and lots of romance.  I was expecting more badass, tough guy behavior, but I found it impossible not to like them. 🙂

Gabriel Diaz and his team are handling private party security as something to keep them busy and less bored in their down-time while recovering from their latest mission with Centurion Corporation when he’s approached by Maylin Cheng.  He blows her off until later that night when the team witnesses a car attempt to run her over.

Maylin is trying to find someone to help her find her missing sister.  Gabe and his team take her back to their compound with them to try to get some answers.  Military-Veterans-turned-mercenaries, they have a lot of resources at their fingertips with which to help search for details.  They decide to look into her missing sister to see if they can figure out what happened to her, and what the connection is to who just tried to hurt Maylin.

Will they be able to help?  And when Maylin and Gabe start to have feelings for each other, will they be able to figure out a way to have any type of future together?

If you read the Seaside Summers series by Melissa Foster, you will recognize Lizzie Barber and Blue Ryder.  I didn’t read the previous series, but didn’t have any trouble at all following this book and falling in love with these characters.  It’s well written and draws you in very easily, so you’re turning page after page waiting to see what’s going to happen.  You might even find yourself cursing at Blue a bit like I did, but I soon loved him again, so no worries. 🙂

Lizzie Barber owns her own flower shop, P-town Petals, in Provincetown, Massachusetts.  What no one knows about her, is she secretly does a hot web series on the side to earn money to pay for her little sister’s education.

Blue Ryder has been trying to get Lizzie to go on a date with him ever since he met her a year ago.  She likes him and finds him hard to resist, but doesn’t think it’s fair to start a relationship with him when she has this secret life.  She finally gives in and goes on a couple of dates with him, but when they start to get serious about each other, she feels the need to come clean with him.

BOOK REVIEW – Weather the Storm – Lisa Mondello – Rising Storm, Episode 7

This episode was really well written.  It mostly centered around Pastor Bryce Douglas trying to come to terms with his son Danny’s Autism diagnosis and accepting the different things that have to go into their plan of helping Danny cope with starting school.  He and Tara make a good start in getting their marriage back on track as well.

There is also further drama with Senator Sebastian Rush and his mistress Dakota Alvarez.  Lots of explosive secrets are starting to be figured out.  Can’t wait to see what happens next week in the final Episode of this season.

I’m hooked!  This is Book 1 in the Prophecy of Love series, and I already can’t wait to read more.  Great job of weaving a small town chemistry that makes us fall in love with the thought of what has been, and what’s yet to come.  I laughed, I cried, and I wished for the fairy tale kind of love that burns even through years of separation.  Great read!

Cal Maddox walks into his dad’s boot shop and sees the one woman he has never forgotten.  Delaney Shields is only stopping through Prophecy, TX for a quick check on Whit Maddox and never expected to see Cal.  Last she heard, he was traveling the world in the military.  He had no clue his dad had kept in such close contact with Delaney all these years.

Whit is determined to get Delaney to stay in town and take over his boot shop for him.  He told her years ago that she was the next Prophecy bootmaker, and if she won’t stay, the magic ends and the town falls apart.  Delaney doesn’t want to admit that she can see the boots in her mind.  If she does, then she’s locked into settling down, and as she proved when she walked out on Cal all those years ago, she’s not the staying kind.

Will she and Cal admit they still love each other or will she ride off into the sunset again?  Can she ever believe that she’s worth being loved after the past she’s had and let herself actually be happy?

Full of intrigue!  Definitely keeps you on your toes waiting to see what’s going to happen!  Really enjoyed it!

David Martin, part of a team of elite Specialists, is sent undercover to a Charleston, SC hospital.  Intel shows that a biotech weapon is in danger, that he must protect at all cost.

Terri Barnhart is a nurse at the hospital.  When David meets her, her brother Trey has been missing for 3 months.  He just up and disappeared from college one day.  Terri hasn’t heard a word from him, but David’s team thinks he has been training with a cult of radicals who plan to steal the invention from the hospital and put it in the hands of terrorists.

Will David be able to keep that from happening?  And when he and Terri develop feelings for each other, will that risk the undercover op?  Will there be able to be a future for them?
