Announcing

IRRESISTIBLE DECEPTIONS

The latest release from award-winning author,

Mackenzie Crowne

He’ll either be her salvation or her ruin…

After five years on the run, Nicky Guimond Everson’s location is exposed, and she’s forced to come out of hiding to keep her son safe. Wary and suspicious, she’ll have to trust a stranger if she is to bring her illegal-arms-dealing ex-husband to justice once and for all. But resisting the arrogant but sexy security specialist isn’t as easy as she first thought.

For Rhy McLean, the mission comes first. The job is his only love, but as he works with Nicky to catch his brother’s killer, her strength and loyalty melt the ice encasing his heart. She’s not at all the woman he expected her to be. But Rhy has a dark secret he’s been keeping from her and everything is at risk if she finds out.

Excerpt:

Digging through his bag, he grunted and straightened. The handcuffs clinked together as he carried them to the door. Nicky glanced over as he attached one end to the iron grating of the old fashioned radiator beside the door. The fit was tight, but he managed to close the other end around the doorknob with a decisive snick. The makeshift lock effectively prevented the door from being opened without first obtaining the key. He slipped the keychain into the front pocket of his jeans.

Irritation simmered in Nicky’s eyes when they lifted from the handcuffs to him. “Isn’t that a fire hazard?”

“I’m a light sleeper.”

“That isn’t necessary, you know.”

Her words were an echo of those she’d thrown at him when he unceremoniously searched her duffel bag earlier while Tim and Alex were still out getting their meals.

Rhy repeated the same response as he had then. “I’m not taking any chances you’ll be gone when I wake up.”

“I thought you were a light sleeper.” A healthy dose of syrupy sweet sarcasm coated the dig.

He crossed his arms and shifted his weight to one hip in a negligent pose. “There’s another alternative.” He shifted his gaze to the bed he’d be sleeping in, alone, before coming back to rest on her with his eyebrows raised.

Nicky gave him a “get real” smirk but didn’t comment.

“I didn’t think so.” He ground his teeth against the sharp stab of disappointment he had no business feeling. He picked up his bag and headed for the bathroom, so pissed he couldn’t think straight. Nonetheless, his justifiable anger was no match for the images flooding his mind at the idea of crawling into that soft bed to curl himself around her even softer body. Then again, the part of his body supplying the impetus for the images wasn’t exactly known for its intelligence.

He closed the bathroom door with a kick of his foot. The cold shower didn’t help.

BLOG TOUR – BOOK REVIEW/EXCERPT/GIVEAWAY – Blindsided – Jami Davenport

Blind Sided

5 STARS!

Loved this book!  I hadn’t read any of the previous ones in the Game On in Seattle series yet, but you don’t need to in order to enjoy this one.  It’s a totally stand alone story.  Really enjoyed getting to know the characters and falling in love with them.  Tanner is one of those guys you love to hate at times, but when you get to the parts where you can see down deep inside him, he becomes attached to your heart!  I will definitely be going back to read those earlier books to see who else I can notch on my bedpost. 🙂

Emma Maxwell is one of four daughters of once big time rock legends.  She’s the good girl of the family who always does the right thing.  Except on Wednesday nights when she’s been sneaking around to have a blast on stage singing Karaoke, regardless of a “never going to sing” pact she has had for years with her sisters.

Tanner Wolfe is the bad boy Quarterback of the Seattle Steelheads.  Emma has been crushing on him for years, but is always too shy to have much to say to him when he’s hanging around with her sister Izzy who he’s good friends with.  When he’s out for a quiet good time, hoping not to catch the attention of his new team owners, he runs into her at the casino where she’s singing.  One thing leads to another and they have a moment.  Then all hell breaks loose and a short time later, they find themselves temporarily married.

They find themselves enjoying each other and married life alot, and as Tanner calms down and concentrates on football, his game starts to improve and his career is looking up.  Will the marriage stay temporary, or will the fact that they are falling in love change the outcome?

Today Bestselling author Jami Davenport introduces the Seattle Steelheads
football team with this sixth book in her Game On in Seattle sports romance
series.
The daughter of one-time rock
legends, Emma Maxwell is the good girl of the family, the dutiful sister, the
doting aunt, and a dedicated employee in the family party-crashing business.
Every Wednesday night at Karaoke, she indulges in her secret fantasy of being a
singer. Yet the thrill of being on stage doesn’t rival the thrill of a
spontaneous liaison with the delectable, yet downtrodden, quarterback of the
Seattle Steelheads, Tanner Wolfe, Emma’s long-time crush.
Tanner didn’t see it coming–not any
of it. He was blindsided–by his dysfunctional family, his plummeting career,
and the one thing he least expected–by love. After photos with Emma go viral,
Tanner is caught in a lie and tells a bigger one to get out of it. Now he’s
shoulder-pads deep in a temporary marriage while struggling to resurrect his
disastrous career and reunite his broken family. As time passes, Tanner begins
to wonder if temporary is good enough, but he’s made a promise to Emma, one
which has nothing to do with marriage vows and everything to do with her
Nashville singing career and the end of their relationship.
Will Tanner and Emma take the ball
and drive for the win, or will they be permanently relegated to the sidelines
as the clock runs out on their temporary marriage?

EXCERPT:

“Whose idiot idea was it for us to come to the casino on karaoke night?” Tanner groused. He’d already lost too much money playing a couple rounds of blackjack so gambling was out but so was calling it a night. Tanner didn’t want to go home either.

“Yours,” Hunter, Cam, and Grady answered at the same time.

“Oh,” Tanner sighed and studied the bar menu, suddenly hungry.

“Hey,” Grady tugged on his sleeve and pointed with his finger, “isn’t that your brother’s fiancée?”

Tanner snapped his head around so fast he almost got whiplash. The lady in question stood on a dark stage under a spotlight, a microphone grasped in her hand. Rubbing the back of his neck, Tanner squinted into the lights of the small stage.

“Holy crap,” he said under his breath. His dick hardened in record time. The woman in question wore a tight pink top showing a liberal amount of tasty cleavage and a swishy, mid-thigh skirt. Her honey blond hair spilled over her shoulders and down her back. A very nice back and even nicer ass, he noted, as she bent down to pick up the mic. She wasn’t tall, but she was just his size with those long, long legs which stretched to heaven and back.

All kinds of wicked scenarios designed to piss off his brother played through his mind. He couldn’t imagine why Avery would be here dressed like that without his overbearing ass of a brother stuck to her side. They must have had a fight. Maybe they broke up, making her ripe for rebound sex. Or maybe—

Tanner frowned. Something wasn’t quite right.

“Shit,” he swore under his breath. Tanner noticed details, a talent which had made him an elite college quarterback able to read defenses with a glance. Sadly, that particular talent hadn’t helped him in the pros—yet.

No, that delectable vixen on stage wasn’t Avery, but Emma, the sweet twin sister. Tanner leaned forward and licked his lips. Emma? Dressed like that?

Damn, she was the hottest woman in here.

He shook his head, pretty sure the world might be coming to an end any minute. Considering Izzy was one of his closest friends, he knew the sisters pretty well and Bella really well; actually maybe too well because his brief involvement with Bella had created tension between Izzy and him. He hated that.

Tanner watched mesmerized as usually quiet, buttoned-up Emma morphed into a hot, sultry siren. She sang and danced on stage like a pro, reminding him she’d been raised with music in her life because of her parents’ status as two-hit wonders. Emma’s party-crashing side job most likely contributed to her stage presence. In their teens, the sisters had literally sung for their supper by crashing parties in order to get their next meal. They were so good at taking a dud party and turning it into a success, they started a party crashing business, which he understood was becoming quite lucrative.

Hell, he’d even paid them to crash one of his parties—yet he’d never noticed Emma in stage mode before, maybe because he’d been too busy screwing Bella in a closet.

He ran his hand through his hair and groaned. He noticed her now, and he was torn between covering her up with his jacket and taking off the clothes she had on.
