DUTY, DESIRE AND WHERE TO DRAW THE LINE

As a Texas Ranger, it was Jesse Ryder’s duty to protect her. As a man, it was all he could do to avoid the temptation of Avery Travis. The Snake Eyes Killer was on Avery’s trail, but the independent deputy didn’t want Jesse’s help. And he couldn’t blame her; he had walked away from her the night she’d offered him everything.

Avery knew Jesse would always think of her as his best friend’s little sister. However, she was fully capable of taking care of herself…and knowing what and who she wanted. Their lives might be in jeopardy, but the true tragedy would be to never have one more chance with the sexy Ranger.

4 1/2 STARS!
Book 2 in Angi Morgan’s Texas Rangers: Elite Troop series picks up with Garrison Travis’s (from Book 1) twin sister being targeted by The Snake Eyes Killer.  I enjoyed this book even more than the first, and fell in love with Avery and Jesse as a battling friends to lovers duo!  Can’t wait to see what else the gang gets up to in the continuation of the series!

Texas Ranger Jesse Ryder hears that Avery Travis is in trouble, and is on her door step immediately.  They grew up together and he was her brother’s best friend, but they also had a little history of their own a few months ago that ended when Jesse walked out on her.  She’s not happy to see him, and doesn’t much want his help!

They find themselves being stalked by this serial killer, and have to dodge his set ups to try to figure out who he is before he gets to them first!  Will they survive this mad man’s clutches?

Introduced to Harlequin romances by her grandmother, she went through Junior High waiting for the next visit to “Mommie’s” house. There, she’d search through the inside cover corners for checkmarks, aunt’s initials, and her favorite phrase: Okay for Angi. That’s right, her aunts and grandmother censored which stories she could borrow. Reading gave her a love for the Harlequin name and story. She still has a lot of her grandmother’s books. Angi keeps reading and thinking romance, falling in love with the “Happily Ever After” for each hero and heroine.

An 11th generation Texan, Angi utilizes her strong heritage to create passionate characters willing to risk everything. She writes Intrigues where honor and danger collide with love. When the house is quiet, she plots ways to engage her readers with complex story lines, throwing her hero and heroine into situations they’ll never overcome…until they find the one person they can love.

Angi had several jobs before taking the opportunity to stay home with her children and develop the writing she always wanted. Volunteer work led to a houseful of visiting kids and a joyful but on-the-go lifestyle. With their three children out of the house, Angi concentrated on her work, finding her dream agent and editor. She and her husband live in North Texas with only the four-legged ‘kids’ to interrupt her writing. Tex, Roxie & Little Dude keep Angi and her characters company, reminding her to occasionally take time off to play.

Does following her passion mean losing her way?

Marine Ben Corallis is an expert at facing death, but nothing comes close to the terror that grounds him when his wife is killed in a car accident the day he returns from duty. He’s left to raise an infant, a toddler and a ten-year-old girl who hasn’t uttered a word since her mother’s death.

It’s hard not to care for the widowed marine with three young children. Yet he’s still grieving, too burdened with guilt to fall in love again. And Hope Alwanga’s future as a doctor awaits her on the other side of the world, in Nairobi. If two such opposites can’t agree on a common country, how can they ever create a safe place to call home?

After a childhood enriched with exotic travels and adventures (both in books and real life), USA Today and Amazon Bestselling author Rula Sinara is now settled in rural Virginia with her husband, three boys and crazy but endearing pets. When she’s not writing, she’s busy attracting wildlife to her yard, watching romantic movies or researching trees on her garden wish list.

In addition to being a coffee addict, she’s also a 2015 HOLT Medallion Award of Merit winner, a 2014 National Reader’s Choice Award winner and double finalist, a 2015 Golden Quill Award Runner Up and a 2015 Book Buyers Best third place recipient.
