Jace Custer followed his former SEAL team to the Caribbean in hopes of answering the question: what’s next? But he doesn’t fit in at Duchess Island like he did in Iraq. While searching for a place to call his own, Jace unexpectedly finds a home tending bar for Stella Chase, but when the chemistry between them heats up, he realizes he wants more from her than just a job. Stella can’t trust her bartender with her heart—he’s too young, too hot and too much of a player. Jace is determined to strip away her preconceptions of him… but she’s just as determined to hold him at arm’s length. Can a recovering player ever really change his stripes? Or is he destined to never fit into his own life?

Persistence pays off in Kat Cantrell’s latest installment in the ASSIGNMENT: Caribbean Nights series! His former SEAL team buddies give Jace Custer a hard time about what a player he is, but little do they know the love’ em and leave ’em king has done an about face over the last few months! He’s seriously infatuated with his boss at the bar, and he’s determined to get her to see him in a different light! This entire series has been great. We see a bit less of the team and extended family this go round, but Jace & Stella were a quick, fun read!

Former Navy SEAL Jace Custer came to the Caribbean to open an adventure excursion business with a bunch of his teammates, but as much as he loves the guys and the business, it’s just not cutting it for him. He feels like he’s found his place working the bar with Stella … but can he convince her that he’s a permanent addition?

Stella Chase opened up the Crow Bar several years ago when she decided she needed to change her life and live for herself again. She can’t deny her hot bartender is a good guy … but he’s so young, and so sexy, and such a player! She’s been resisting his charms for awhile now, but when he really turns up the flirting and makes his desire for her known, will she decide a fling is just what she needs?

This Texas cowboy has come home to Copper Ridge to put down roots…but will he risk his heart again?

Asked where he'd be at this point in life, Cain Donnelly would have said anywhere but Copper Ridge, Oregon, living with his estranged brothers. But since his wife abandoned them, both he and his daughter, Violet, are in need of a fresh start, so he's back to claim his share of the family ranch. Local baker Alison Davis is a delicious temptation, but she's also his daughter's mentor and new boss. That makes her off-limits…until she offers a no-strings deal that no red-blooded cowboy could resist.

Alison has worked tirelessly to rebuild her life, and she won't jeopardize her hard-won independence. Especially if it also complicates Cain's relationship with Violet. But with Cain offering a love she never thought was possible, Alison has to find the courage to let her past go…or watch her future ride away for good.

Maisey Yates has outdone herself with this tale of second chances! We’re familiar with the characters from previous books  in the Copper Ridge series, and watching Cain & Alison overcome their own issues to finally meet in the middle is giving us all the feels!

Single dad Cain Donnelly can’t seem to get through to his snarky teenage daughter Violet. He knows she’s unhappy, but he thought this fresh start in Copper Ridge would be a positive move for them. They both were drowning in memories of the wife/mother that walked out on them in Texas. Here’s hoping a new job will get her centered!

Bakery owner Alison Davis is enjoying the freedom her new life is giving her. She’s worked hard to overcome her past and to become the strong woman she is today. She’s enjoying mentoring and guiding her employees to give them a brighter path for the future, and her latest new hire is coming along well.  Little does she know the sexy cowboy she made eyes at down at the bar the other night is Violet’s father though!

Will setting out on a no-strings fling with his daughter’s boss come back to haunt Cain or will they eventually have to admit they can’t walk away?

Operation Day Care

Highly skilled combat veteran and former rodeo star Rex Trainor likes to be in the thick of the action. When tragedy nearly strikes the kids in Sierra's care, Rex vows to expose the culprit. Rex hasn't failed on a mission yet, and protecting the desirable Miss Daniels is no exception!

Mysteries are unraveled and danger continues to mount as we take another delve into the mysteries surrounding Elle James’s Ballistic Cowboys series. This entire series has been a really attention grabbing plot and I’ve really enjoyed it!

Rex “T-Rex” Trainor has been on loan to Homeland Security for a little while now trying to help the task force that is trying to figure out who is setting their sights on doing devious missions in the hills of Wyoming. He’s just biding his time until he’s sent back to his Marine team for his next mission, but he’s in the right place at the right time to help a beautiful woman in distress!

The Birmingham Rebels play both sides of the field, proving that the hottest action isn’t always in the arena.

Rookie running back Tom Kelly loves the perks of football stardom. Men, women—there’s no shortage of companionship for a pro athlete who’s hot, young, and willing, and Tom is definitely willing. But deep down he wants a committed three-way relationship, especially if the female in the middle is Carmina de la Cruz. The undeniably sexy Army veteran may not say much, but her body speaks loud and clear.

After a traumatic tour in Afghanistan, Carmina is struggling to regain her speech and rebuild her life. More than anything, she wants to feel like a woman again. Tom may be a wholesome All-American, but he knows just how she needs to be touched—and he’s not the only Rebel who arouses her interest. With his scorching intensity, Tom’s best friend leaves her wondering if two players might be better than one.

Danny Smith is no stranger to his team’s kinky reputation. He gave in to temptation once, but he’s not going down that road again. Sure, Carmina’s curves promise pleasure, but her eyes guarantee it comes with baggage—and Danny has enough of his own. Still, giving up control can feel so good. And when it comes to everything Danny craves, Carmina and Tom make the perfect team.

Another sexy menage is breaking out in the Birmingham Rebels NFL crowd! There’s something about the water at this training facility I think … because they all seem to want to double it up! 🙂 It’s another sexy story from Samantha Kane with an underlying past that the characters are having to overcome and move on from in order to find their happily ever after. Must be okay with menage and M/M!

Rookie Tom Kelly got his sexual appetite heated up with a bunch of the Rebels crew a few months back, and now he’s living the life. He’s ready and willing for just about anything, but he’s secretly yearning for a three-way relationship with sexy Carmina de la Cruz … and his best friend Danny Smith!

Carmina is Sam’s best friend who was injured in the Army and moved to be closer to him as she gets her life figured out. She’s been tempted by Tom for awhile now … but can she trust herself and her issues to be able to handle him? And what about the attraction she also has to his friend Danny?

Danny enjoys his close friendship with Tom, but he’s not anything like him in his extracurricular activities. He really is attracted to Carmina though … and as he watches them together and spends time with him, he can’t resist he wants Tom too!

They say life can change in an instant…

After losing her sister in a devastating car accident, chef Quinn Weller is finally getting her life back on track. She appears to have it all: a loving family, a dream job in one of L.A.'s hottest eateries, and a gorgeous boyfriend dying to slip an engagement ring on her finger. So why does she feel so empty, like she's looking for a missing piece she can't find?

The answer comes when a lawyer tracks down Quinn and reveals a bombshell secret and a mysterious inheritance that only she can claim. This shocking revelation washes over Quinn like a tidal wave. Her whole life has been a lie.

On impulse, Quinn gives up her job, home, and boyfriend. She heads up the coast to the small hometown of Wildstone, California, which is just a few hours north, but feels worlds apart from Los Angeles. Though she doesn't quite fit in right away, she can't help but be drawn to the town’s simple pleasures…and the handsome, dark-haired stranger who offers friendship with no questions asked.

As Quinn settles into Wildstone, she discovers there's another surprise in store for her. The inheritance isn't a house or money, but rather something earthshattering, something that will make her question everything she thought she knew about herself, about her family. Now with a world of possibilities opening up to Quinn, she must decide if this new life is the one she was always meant to have—and the one that could finally give her the fulfillment she's searched so long for.

Adorably laugh-out-loud funny, emotionally raw and heartwarmingly REAL! With a roller coaster of life handing out a little more than the average gal can bear, Jill Shalvis takes us on an adventure of seeing the amount of grit it takes to forage through a life you never expected to be a part of to come out stronger on the other side. The characters are down to earth and super easy to love, and the story line is addictive. Really enjoyed going on this journey with Quinn!

Quinn Wellers has just been going through the motions of life for the last two years since losing her sister to a horrible car accident. She’s living the life some people dream of … loving parents, a great job at a popular L.A. hot spot and a handsome boyfriend just waiting in the wings to slip that diamond on her finger … yet all she feels is empty, numb and lost.

Just when she thinks she can’t handle another person’s expectations piled on to those already drowning her, she is contacted by a lawyer from a little town a couple of hours down the coast who claims she has some mysterious inheritance awaiting her that she has to come to Wildstone, CA herself to claim. She’s not sure what this guy’s end game is, but she decides to make the trip to get some answers.

With the rug pulled out from under her, and discovering her whole life has been a lie, Quinn sets out to try to pick up the pieces and figure out how to move forward. She wasn’t expecting this turn in her life, but she can’t deny that she’s feeling more alive than she has in a long time as she makes the journey through yesterdays in search of a tomorrow!

EXCERPT:

“Mick?” she whispered.

“Yeah?”

“Are you feeling something?”

“You could say that,” he murmured. “You?”

She licked her lips and he nearly groaned. “I think so,” she whispered.

“That’s good.”

“Are you going to kiss me?”

He cupped her face, let his thumbs trace her jawbone, his fingers sinking into her silky waves. “No,” he said quietly. “And not because I don’t want to, but because when I do, I want to know you’re ready. That you’ll feel it.”

She sighed. “Guys do whatever they want all the time, no emotions necessary. I want that skill.” Another shaky breath escaped her, and since they were literally an inch apart, they shared air for a single heartbeat during which neither of them moved.

Her gaze dropped to his mouth. “Okay, so I’m definitely feeling things.” She hesitated and then her hands came up to his chest. “Maybe we should test it out to be sure.”

God, she was the sweetest temptation he’d ever met, and he wanted nothing more than to cover her mouth with his. Instead, he brushed his mouth to her cheek.

“Please, Mick,” she whispered, her exhale warming his throat.

He loved the “please,” and he wanted to do just that more than anything. But when she tried to turn her head into his, to line up their mouths, he gently tightened his grip, dragging his mouth along her smooth skin instead, making his way to her ear.

“Not yet,” he whispered, letting his lips brush over her earlobe and the sensitive skin beneath it.

She moaned and clutched him. “Why not?”

It took every ounce of control he had to lift his head and meet her gaze. “Because I want to make sure you’re really with me, that you’re feeling everything I’m feeling. That there’ll be no doubt, no regrets.”

“You sure have a lot of requirements.”

He laughed. And she was right, it was all big talk for a guy who didn’t do relationships anymore. Still, he forced himself to step back and shut the passenger door.

As he rounded the hood to the driver’s side, he tried to remind himself of all the reasons she was a bad idea. He lived two hundred miles away and he was hoping to move his mom up by him and never come back here. Not to mention that Quinn lived an equal two hundred miles in the opposite direction and she was in a deeply vulnerable place. No way would he even think about taking advantage of that.

But when he slid behind the wheel and their eyes locked, he realized that while his mind could stand firm, the rest of his body wasn’t on board with the in-control program.

She's become his whole world…and she's under fire

Ever since forensics analyst Shaye Mallory survived a police-station shootout, Detective Cole Walker has felt personally responsible for her well-being. Then another shooter takes aim at Shaye. Cole decides the only thing he can do is stay right by her side until he finds the man who wants her dead.

Cole knows that he must set aside his attraction to Shaye if he's going to do his job. But as the days—and nights—go on, it becomes harder and harder to resist his feelings. And, as danger moves ever closer to them both, Shaye realizes that her safety might cost her the life of the man she loves.

Danger strikes when she least expects it! Yet again Shaye Mallory finds herself dodging for cover as someone comes out of the woodwork and starts shooting at her … what happened to her quiet life?? With the second in this spin-off series, Elizabeth Heiter brings us Cole Walker’s story. We met him in his brother Andre Diaz’s book last month, and Shaye was instrumental in helping them save Juliette in that story as well. The characters mesh well and are all passionate about their work and protecting those they love. The fact that the brother’s are always ready to jump when the other calls, even if it’s for a stranger they haven’t met means a lot. The background story that they brought up in the first book was mentioned in this one too, but fell to the way side a little too much. I’m looking forward to getting answers to that in the next book.

As the sole survivor of a police station shoot-out last year, forensic analyst Shaye Mallory has had a lot to deal with. She’s just getting back in the swing of things at work when she finds herself the target of a gunman yet again. She gladly accepts help and protection from her friend and co-worker Cole Walker.

Cole has been attracted to Shaye ever since the day he met her two years ago, and the feeling is definitely mutual, but it’s taking her being in danger yet again for them to get close to acting on that attraction! Will they push it away again, or day after day of being in close quarters finally have them relenting and admitting what they feel?
