Take the shot…or take a chance?

FBI sniper Andre Diaz saved Juliette Lawson from a deadly hostage situation. But only hours later, he receives the surprise of his life when she takes him hostage in order to escape Quantico. Now the federal agent knows just how desperate Juliette is to stay hidden from her dangerous cop ex-husband.

Putting her trust in another law enforcement officer is difficult. Yet Juliette senses Andre is definitely one of the good guys. Perhaps he truly can protect her from the secrets she's been running from—unless her deadly past catches up with them both first.

Just when she thought she could stop running, danger strikes when she least expects it! Elizabeth Heiter is back with the first of three books in a spinoff to her popular “The Lawmen” series, “Bullets and Brawn”.  She brings us in hot in the middle of a hostage situation, and keeps the action and intrigue popping throughout. A well-developed cast of lawmen, friends and family work diligently to get to the bottom of the case and keep Juliette safe. I would have liked to see a tad more of their romance play out in the plot, but overall a great book! Looking forward to the next in the series!

FBI sniper Andre Diaz expects just another day on the job when he’s called out to a hostage situation, but as things turn rocky, he steps in to rescue Juliette Lawson. She knows who is behind this setup, but she can’t admit to it.  When she tried to get help in the past, no one would believe that her cop of an ex-husband did what she said he did. She’s desperate to get away from the questioning, but Andre never thought she’d urge him at gunpoint to get her away from Quantico!

Even though she’s threatening him, Andre can tell she’s not the bad guy here. She needs someone on her side for once, and based on the instant draw he feels towards her, he’s going to be it! Can he and his connections keep her safe while they try to track down her ex?

Read, Write, Love at Seaside by Addison Cole is the sweet edition of New York Times bestselling author Melissa Foster's steamy romance novel Read, Write, Love. The stories and characters remain the same, and convey all of the passion you expect between two people in love, without any explicit scenes or harsh language.

In READ, WRITE, LOVE at SEASIDE...
Bestselling author Kurt Remington lives to write. He spends twelve hours a day in front of his computer, rarely leaving the seclusion of his beach-front property, where he's come to finish his latest thriller -- that is, until free-spirited Leanna Bray nearly drowns in the ocean trying to save her dog. Kurt's best-laid plans are shot to hell when he comes to their rescue. Kurt's as irritated as he is intrigued by the sexy, hot mess of a woman who lives life on a whim, forgets everything, and doesn't even know the definition of the word organized.

Leanna's come to the Cape hoping to find a fulfilling career in the jam-making business, and until she figures out her own life, a man is not on the menu. But Leanna can't get the six-two, deliciously muscled and tragically neat Kurt out of her mind. She tells herself she's just stopping by to say thank you, but the heart-warming afternoon sparks an emotional and unexpectedly sweet ride as Kurt and Leanna test the powers of Chemistry 101: Opposites Attract.

Bestselling Author Melissa Foster has tweaked some of her steamy books into a milder, sweet edition under her new alter ego Addison Cole. This one is the milder version of Melissa’s original READ, WRITE, LOVE novel.  It’s a sexy, sweet connection and brings an exciting summer fling to life! Great characters & a really fun story!

Bestselling author Kurt Remington lives a strict and regimented life. His writing is what he lives and breathes for, and he doesn’t let anything get in it’s way. He’s spending the summer at his cottage in Wellfleet, Massachusetts finishing up his current novel when he’s introduced to the whirlwind that is Leanna Bray in a wild and unpredictable way!

Leanna Bray kind of lives life by the seat of her pants! She flits from one place and one job to another trying to find what fulfills her in life and her current foray is a jam and jellies business! She stumbles upon Kurt and her wild and free attitude intrigues him. He shouldn’t want this type of disruption … but want her he does! Will a summer fling be just what they both need or will she be too much a distraction to him? And when they consider the future, what does it look like for her?

Bella Abbascia has returned to Seaside Cottages in Wellfleet, Massachusetts, as she does every summer. Only this year, Bella has more on her mind than sunbathing and skinny-dipping with her girlfriends. She’s quit her job, put her house on the market, and sworn off relationships while she builds a new life in her favorite place on earth. That is, until good-time Bella’s prank takes a bad turn and a handsome police officer appears on the scene.

Single father and police officer Caden Grant left Boston with his fourteen-year-old son, Evan, after his partner was killed in the line of duty. He hopes to find a safer life in the small resort town of Wellfleet, and when he meets Bella during a night patrol shift, he realizes he’s found the one thing he’d never allowed himself to hope for—or even realized he was missing.

After fourteen years of focusing solely on his son, Caden cannot resist the intense attraction he feels toward beautiful Bella, and Bella’s powerless to fight the heat of their budding romance. But starting over proves more difficult than either of them imagined, and when Evan gets mixed up with the wrong kids, Caden’s loyalty is put to the test. Will he give up everything to protect his son—even Bella?

EXCERPT:

LEANNA BRAY WAS wet, cold, and floundering. Literally. She’d been floundering for twenty-eight years, so this was nothing new, but being pummeled by rain, wind, and waves, chasing a dog that never listened? That was new.

“Pepp—” A wave knocked her off her feet and she went under the water, taking a mouthful of saltwater along with her. She tumbled head down beneath the surface.

Now Pepper and I will both drown. Freaking perfect.

Something grabbed her arm, and she reflexively fought against it, sucking in another mouthful of salty water as she broke through the surface, arms flailing, choking, and pushing against the powerful hand that yanked her to her feet.

“You okay?” A deep, annoyed voice carried over the din of the crashing waves.

Cough. Cough. “Yeah. I—” Cough. Cough. “My dog.” She blinked and blinked, trying to clear the saltwater and rain from her eyes. The man’s mop of wet, dark hair came into focus. He held tightly to her arm while scanning the water in the direction of where she’d last seen Pepper. His clothes stuck to his body like a second skin, riding the ripples of his impressive chest and arms as he held her above the surface with one arm around her ribs.

“Come on.” She coughed as he plowed through the pounding surf with her clutched against his side. She slid down his body, and he lifted her easily into his arms, carrying her like he might carry a child, pressing her to his chest as he fought against the waves.

She pushed against his chest, feeling ridiculous and helpless…and maybe a little thankful, but she was ignoring that emotion in order to save Pepper.

“My dog! I need to get my dog!” she hollered.

Mr. Big, Tall, and Stoic didn’t say a word. He set her on the wet sand and tossed her a rain-soaked towel. “It was dry.” He pointed behind her to a wooden staircase. “Go up to the deck.”

She dropped the towel and plowed past him toward the water. “I gotta get my dog.”

He snagged her by the arm and glared at her with the brightest blue eyes she’d ever seen—and a stare so dark she swallowed her voice.

“Go.” He pointed to the stairs again. “I’ll get your dog.” He took a step toward the water, and she pushed past him again.

“You don’t have t—”

He scooped her into his arms again and carried her to the stairs.

Justine's dilemma is only complicated by Nate Rhodes, her first love and now Orange Blossom's mayor, who stakes his own claim to the land she has inherited. He'll do whatever it takes to stop her, even if it means losing the woman he loves...one more time.

A wonderful kick-off to a new women’s fiction series by Leigh Duncan! Setting Off Sparks

A Jupiter Point Novel
by Jennifer Bernard
Publication Date: June 13, 2017
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Purchase: Amazon | Barnes & Noble | Kobo | iBooks |Print

USA Today bestselling author Jennifer Bernard returns to the town readers are falling in love with…

In one fiery moment, Finn Abrams went from cocksure firefighter to scarred survivor. Now all he wants is to put his life together again, get back on a hotshot crew, and figure out exactly what happened to him during the Big Canyon burnover. He never expected to be knocked off his feet by a gorgeous, no-nonsense stranger to Jupiter Point—the one woman who seems completely immune to his famous charm.

Coolly practical, Lisa Peretti knows she won’t be in Jupiter Point for long. As an ER nurse in Houston, she helped a friend escape a dangerous situation. Now she’s hiding out in the little town, determined to keep a low profile. The last thing she needs is attention, especially in the form of the tabloid-starring, actress-dating, too-sexy-for-his-own-good Finn Abrams.

Still, Lisa can’t resist someone who needs her help. As long as she can keep her distance, working with the local hero as he recovers from his burns should be no problem, right?

Wrong. When danger follows Lisa to Jupiter Point, she’s startled to find Finn ready, willing, and more than able to come to her rescue. Add to that a meddling movie crew, some kindhearted locals, and her own unruly heart, and Lisa quickly loses any shot at keeping her feelings under cover.

Fire season in Jupiter Point is always smokin’ hot…but this time it’s going to be Setting Off Sparks.

EXCERPT:

“Finn? Are you all right?”

His eyes snapped open. Lisa Peretti stood before him, barefoot, her sandals held in one hand. Wary sympathy shone from her dark eyes.

Great. How much had she overheard? “Fine. How are you?”

Smooth. Very smooth.

“Not bad. For what it’s worth, ‘deformed’ is a little over the top. As a medical professional, I wouldn’t use that phrase.”

“So you heard all that.”

She nodded. Her glance flickered down his body, and it seemed she wanted to say something else. But she didn’t. She probably wasn’t one for empty expressions of sympathy.

“Fan-tastic. I’m trying to figure why I keep embarrassing myself in front of you and I’m coming up blank.” He grabbed the champagne bottle and took another swallow. “Drink?”

“I’m good. I don’t drink when I’m working.”

“So I’m drinking alone, then. One more embarrassing moment, in case you’re counting.” He toasted her with the bottle then set it aside. Any more and he might throw up. That would definitely put him in the Humiliation Hall of Fame for good.

She came toward the bench and sat next to him. Not right next to him, but close enough so he could inhale her scent, something light and spicy. “So, uh…I have a question for you,” she said.

“The answer is yes.”

She laughed. “Do you ever stop flirting?”

“This? This isn’t flirting. Believe me, you’ll know when I get back into flirting.” Suddenly he felt a hell of a lot better than he had a few minutes ago. In a flash, this wedding had gone from endless tedium to something more like exhilaration.

“Will there be more cheesy pick-up lines?” She clasped her hands at her throat and fluttered her eyelashes at him. “A girl can dream.”

“Speaking of dreams… Do your legs hurt from running through my dreams all night?”

She groaned. “Worst ever. You keep topping yourself. It’s a gift.”

“Yeah, kind of like that gift from your great-aunt Gertrude that you can’t return because she’d be insulted.”

“Oh, I doubt it. I’m sure that kind of thing works on most people.”

“That kind of thing?”

She smoothed out a wrinkle on her dress. The night breeze lifted the long strands of hair that had come loose. “You know, the charming thing.”

“I’ve had nearly an entire bottle of champagne, but I’m pretty sure you just called me charming.”

And I said it doesn’t work on me.”

He squinted up at the night sky. The lanterns overheard swayed, sending shadows chasing across the lawn. “No, you didn’t. You said it worked on most people.”

“But I’m not most people.”

“Now that,” he looked back at her, “is for sure. One hundred percent.”

It was a little hard to tell in the light of the lanterns, but it looked like she was blushing under his gaze. “I’m never going to go out with you, Finn.”

She sounded so serious that it took him aback. Never? “Why not?”

“I’m not interested in dating anyone. I won’t be in Jupiter Point for long. Even if I were…” She bit her lip, glancing away from him.

With all that champagne in his system, he went for the joke. “Let me guess. I’m too charming, funny, handsome and irresistible.”

“Exactly.”

The daughter they never knew

When Miles Jenkins sees the graceful young figure skater on TV, he can't believe how much she resembles Lark McGee, the girl he dated briefly in college. Could this aspiring star be the child Lark gave up for adoption eighteen years ago? He has to find out.

Locating Lark ignites conflicting emotions in Miles—including regrets for what might have been and romantic feelings that take the two single parents by surprise. As they prepare to meet their daughter, this deeper connection between the two just might be the chance at love they never got.

The meaning of a second chance is personified in Virginia McCullough’s debut Harlequin Heartwarming novel! A yearning … pushed to the wayside. A connection … born, yet not developed. Regret … a daily reminder. Could she truly have a second chance with the daughter she gave away? Is it possible for him to even realize the amount of hope he’s handed her? In this story, we meet a couple who made the young sacrifice to give their child up for adoption, then went their separate ways and developed their own lives after college. We hear the ups and downs of their lives, feel the weight of past decisions and watch them reach their grown up potential before our very eyes. The characters are well developed, their story is well thought out and leads us into the turmoil they are feeling from the first chapter. Ideally I would have wanted the ending to happen earlier in the book so we could have seen a little more of what happened after such a build-up, but overall, a great read and a satisfying resolution!

Happenstance brings a young skater to Miles Jenkins attention. She’s beautiful with coloring similar to his, yet with a grace and familiar attributes that remind him of a girl long ago. Tidbits of her life being talked about by the commentators make him wonder … that face makes him unable to not act … the heaviness in his heart has him reaching out to the one person who will understand.

Lark McGee can’t believe she’s getting a call from Miles after all this time. Is he remembering what day it is too? Hearing his voice and the story he has to tell her is life changing! Meeting up with him again … sharing memories … discussing where life took them … sharing a yearning of what might be. Can life be rewritten when you meet the person at the wrong time once, but the right time later? Can this connection they are feeling be real?

Advanced Praise

Mesmerized by the real world of characters–brought to life beautifully, I found myself entranced by this thoughtful, delightful, sad, and joyous, novel about second chances and all forms of love. The situation, characters, and consequences left me shedding happy tears at the ending. — Casey Clifford, award-winning author

A compelling love story crafted with characters you’ll fall in love with. Miles and Lark’s journey to be reunited with their child captured my heart, as did their blossoming romance. The best book I have read this year! —Lily Silver, author of Dark Hero

McCullough is always adept at creating suspense on multiple levels. In Girl in the Spotlight, the intrigue builds from page one and doesn’t let up until the end. But she understands that readers need relief from tension, and through her masterful storytelling and perfect pacing, McCullough delivers satisfying outcomes along that way. The relationships she’s developed are complex and realistic, and their evolution is deeply satisfying. — Lynda McDaniel, author of A Life for a Life

Girl in the Spotlight swept me away to Wisconsin’s Lake Michigan shore and reminded me of loves left behind. McCullough invokes deep emotions through her writing, which will pull at your heart. More than a romantic love story, it is a love story of parents for their children. A must read.”  — Anne Parent, author/reviewer

Read The Trouble With Mistletoe today!

If she has her way . . .

Willa Davis is wrangling puppies when Keane Winters stalks into her pet shop with frustration in his chocolate-brown eyes and a pink bedazzled cat carrier in his hand. He needs a kitty sitter, stat. But the last thing Willa needs is to rescue a guy who doesn’t even remember her . . .

He’ll get nothing but coal in his stocking.

Saddled with his great-aunt’s Feline from Hell, Keane is desperate to leave her in someone else’s capable hands. But in spite of the fact that he’s sure he’s never seen the drop-dead-gorgeous pet shop owner before, she seems to be mad at him . . .

Unless he tempers “naughty” with a special kind of nice . . .

Willa can’t deny that Keane’s changed since high school: he’s less arrogant, for one thing—but can she trust him not to break her heart again? It’s time to throw a coin in the fountain, make a Christmas wish—and let the mistletoe do its work . . .
