You’ve known Harper Allen and Jakob Titov since you met them in Taking Shots. You know their story already, right? Ha! You only think you do. In One-Timer, they’ll tell it for themselves.

Harper has been hurt so many times, and she has no interest in anything more than a one-time thing, but Jakob Titov has other ideas.

He is looking for his forever. He has his sights set on a girl who is so good at blocking his attempts, she could be a star goalie in the NHL. Jakob is persistent, though, and he knows what he wants: Harper—forever. together, he knows they’ll make one hell of a team.

The last twenty years have been even better than they could have dreamed. But when their daughter comes home, informing them she’s giving up everything for a boy, they know it’s past time to tell the truth about the shutout they scored all those years ago to get where they are.

It wasn’t easy. But sometimes, that one-time thing leads to a fairy-tale kind of ending.

A blast from the past! With the seventeenth book in her beloved Nashville Assassins hockey series, Toni Aleo goes back in time to bring us a novella of Harper and Jakob’s story and an update on what they’ve been up to throughout the years. For fans of the series, it’s a great little nod to a couple of previous couples … and for new readers, it’s a way to catch up on some previous characters you might have missed. There’s not a huge amount of hockey in the book, but it’s a sexy and sweet love story rolled into a teaching moment with their adult kid. I enjoyed it!

It's beginning to look a lot like a Christmas in this Sunshine Valley novella from USA Today bestselling author Melinda Curtis.

Everyone in Sunshine Valley, Colorado, is in the Christmas spirit except for Everett Bollinger, the new town manager. With money tighter than ever, Everett has had to make some tough decisions about the local holiday celebration. And taking the blame has put him in a very un-festive mood.

Rosalie Reyes has big plans to open her new pet shop during the Christmas parade. But it seems like Everett is determined to sabotage the parade and her business too. With the help of the local matchmakers and a rambunctious Saint Bernard named Remy, Rosalie is about to unleash the town's holiday cheer and make it a paws-itively amazing Christmas for all. Including a certain town manager who's about to discover the reason for the season...is love.

With the kick-off novella to her brand new Sunshine Valley series, Melinda Curtis delights us all with THE CHRISTMAS WISH. He’s sort of the town’s enemy … and she’s sort of falling for him!

Rosalie is a sweetly fierce character. She is finally taking a chance on herself and has started up that pet store she’s been dreaming of for so long, but she’s not about to stand around and watch this big-wig guy in a suit try to run roughshod on her friends, family and town.

Everett is misunderstood. He’s trying to do his job the best way he knows how in making the town profitable but he’s getting the runaround every way he turns. He knows he came into town with a whole passel of personal baggage on his shoulders, but he has truly grown to like these people and wants what is best for them … why does he always have to be the bad guy?

I recommend this story to anyone wanting a fast paced, enjoyable holiday read. It’s a small town romance with hints of scandal to keep you entertained. I’m looking forward to the first full length novel in the series!

Sexy billionaire Liam Bennett is cocky, dangerously handsome, and more importantly, my new boss. If only my ovaries didn't flutter when he was near—yeah, that'd be super helpful.

When our long hours lead to a dare—and an X-rated encounter—I never expected it to be the hottest night of my life.

It'd also be super helpful if Liam didn't know it and taunt me about it every chance he got. Unable to deny our attraction any longer, our work relationship brings a whole new meaning to the term inbox.

But being with him comes with some baggage—like an ex-wife and three kids kind of baggage. And a lawyer who wants half of his company.

Unsure that I'm cut out for this new level of complicated, my traitorous ovaries beg me to try.

Heaven help us all.

Short, sweet and sexy! With Kendall Ryan’s latest, she brings us a short office romance that is smokin’! Weeks and months were skipped over in order to bring us a fulfilling ending, so it wasn’t a fully developed plot or characterization, but what there was of the couple was really fun and steamy. I would have adored if it had been made into a full-length novel and given us all of the moments in between because Liam and Noelle were super fun to get to know! I recommend this story to someone wanting a steamy romance to read in a short amount of available time.

New York Times bestselling author Karen Rose returns with a new thriller in her chilling Cincinnati series.

Michael Rowland is not your typical teenager. Deaf from birth, he’s always looked out for his five-year-old brother, Joshua. When his stepfather comes after Joshua, Michael takes the child and runs. He’s determined to protect his brother at all costs, even if that means making himself vulnerable to a danger he can’t hear coming. And the danger intensifies when Michael witnesses a stranger kill his stepfather.

Desperate and afraid, the boys have nowhere else to go but to Joshua’s soccer coach, journalist and ex-Army ranger Diesel Kennedy. When Diesel sees that Michael is injured, he takes them to see Dr. Dani Novak—not only because she’s fluent in American Sign Language, but because he’s drawn to her and everything she stands for. She never refuses Diesel’s requests—because she, too, feels their connection—but she resists him for reasons she doesn’t want to confess.

When Dani and Diesel learn that Michael saw the face of his stepfather’s killer, they fear for his safety. But they quickly discover that it’s even worse than they feared: They may have a serial killer on their hands—and all signs point to Michael as the next target.

Complex, endearing and oh so satisfying! With the fifth book in The Cincinnati Series, Karen Rose brings us Dani and Diesel’s story. If you’re not familiar with this series already, you might be a little overwhelmed with the number of people this cast consists of, but you’ll quickly become accustomed to the group of extended family and friends that help bring this case through ups and downs of evil.

Teenager Michael grabs a readers attention immediately as he tears through danger without thought to try to rescue his little brother from the monster he knows oh too well. As the story unfolds, he becomes a favorite character as he works hard to overcome the trauma he’s been through and learn to trust in this family that helps him take care of his little brother.

Dani won’t let her guard down around Diesel … not because she doesn’t want him but because she thinks he deserves better than she can offer him. He’s an awesome guy, so watching him start to slowly build a connection with her that he’s been dreaming of is super sweet amid a lot of ugly deeds they are uncovering.

I highly recommend this story to anyone wanting a very suspenseful thriller that has an underlying warmth of a close knit group of family and friends.

It’s a race against time

To uncover the truth.

Former soldier Logan Lynch has no memory of the past nine years of his life. Now working as a sleepy town’s constable, his life turns upside down when a man is found dead. Before long, microbiologist Dr. Paige Morris gets involved, claiming her boss’s death isn’t what it seems. But as Paige herself becomes the victim of sabotage, she needs Logan’s help…before it’s too late.

Secrets are unraveled as danger closes in! Jenna Kernan saved the best for last in her fourth and final book of her Protectors at Heart series, DANGEROUS CONDITIONS. I’ve enjoyed the entire series, but this one grabbed my heart quickly. Really enjoyed Logan!

Logan is a powerful character because he shows how much you can accomplish even when life has gone wrong and things are working against you. He may not remember a good chunk of his life because of the traumatic brain injury he sustained while in the military, but he is doing better than ever and would be starting to thrive in his job as constable if only people would let him forget that he isn’t perfect.

Paige finds herself in the midst of something bigger than she ever expected and when it looks like things are starting to turn on her, she knows the one person she can always count on is Logan. She also comes to realize that he’s gotten stronger when she wasn’t paying attention and maybe it’s time to try to put their life back together again.

I recommend this book to anyone looking for an action packed story filled with turmoil, love and happily ever afters.
