This time he’s playing for keeps...

Rugged hockey star Dax O’Day has always had a thing for his best friend and teammate’s twin sister, but that’s a line you don’t cross. Not in hockey, and definitely not in life. He just can’t stop thinking about her, and when she turns to him for help, there isn’t a chance in hell he can refuse her—even if it means getting his hands dirty.

Beautiful and brilliant, Isla Campbell is a physics professor who comes from a titled Scottish family. She’s loved Dax since the first time they met, but he’s never really seen her like that. With her grandfather trying to marry her off, who better to come to her rescue than the most uninterested, eligible bachelor?

Dax is torn between walking away from the only life he’s ever known to answer the call of duty and keeping his distance from the woman he can’t live without. The longer they put off the inevitable, the harder it becomes to choose.

Sexy, sinful and oh so sweet! With a tempting crossover between her Sidewinders hockey series and her Royal Protectors bodyguard series, Kat Mizera brings a delightful read to life. As a fan of both series it was fun to see the characters from each intermix a bit. The characters were well developed and the only twist was a bit of a time shift from where we currently are in the Royal Protectors series if you’re up to date. I enjoyed it and look forward to more from both series!

Dax is dreamy! He’s a successful hockey star who is trying to decide if he wants to move forward into something equally as rewarding. He’s had a thing for his best friend/eammate’s twin sister for a long time now but that’s just not something you do … until it’s something he can’t possibly resist any longer.

Isla made me want to pull my hair out throughout most of the book. She’s nice enough, but she’s stuck in a rut, complains about it but throws her nose up at any chance of changing things up. I’m glad she finally got her head out of the sand, but I can’t really say I was hugely fond of her character.

I recommend this book and both series that it cross into to anyone who enjoys tough, protective alpha men falling for their happily ever after.

About the Author:

USA Today Bestselling and award-winning author Kat Mizera is a South Florida native. Born in Miami Beach with a healthy dose of wanderlust, she’s called Los Angeles, Long Island, upstate New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Atlanta home. She’s never been able to pick which locale is her favorite, but if pressed, she’d probably choose the west coast.

A typical PTA mom with a wonderful and supportive husband (Kevin) and two amazing boys (Nick and Max), Kat can usually be found scrapbooking or indulging in her second love (after writing) – traveling. Greece is one of her favorite places in the world. She loves that Athens is a big city with a small-town feel. The food, beaches and culture keep her going back as often as possible.

Kat’s been a working freelance writer for nearly 30 years. She sold her first article–a review of a rock concert–for $10 in 1985. Since then she’s been an entertainment journalist, waitress, bartender, legal assistant, food critic, magazine editor, substitute teacher, and sports writer. She also spent some time working at A & M Records in Los Angeles.

As you can guess from her Las Vegas Sidewinders series, Kat loves hockey and occasionally writes articles about her favorite team, the Florida Panthers. The rest of the time, she writes novels: sexy, romantic fiction that she hopes makes you as happy as it makes her. There’s something enticing about hockey players and romance…

Going from a professional baseball player to a SWAT officer should’ve been seamless. Should have been.

But it wasn’t.

All it took was one single calendar shoot for word to spread that Nathan Cox was not only no longer playing professional baseball, but he was also the man behind saving the life of Reggie Morton, the City of Kilgore’s princess.
***
Reggie didn’t know that by agreeing to provide the expertise and the know-how for the Police Officer’s Ball that she would be required to actually attend the function.

What she also didn’t expect was needing to be saved—again—by the same man that had saved her life a year ago when she hosted her debut event.

This time in a not-nearly-as-spectacular way. The moment she falls into his arms like a modern-day Cinderella and takes him in in all his three-piece suited glory, she realizes that she’s been fighting the impossible.

Nathan Cox owns her. Body and soul.

Delectably sinful and smokin’ hot! Lani Lynn Vale comes up with some wicked story lines that you would think just wouldn’t be able to work … but she does it beautifully! Her writing is unique and creative and the best thing about all of her books that I’ve read is the absolute heart that you feel in each and every one. With book ten in her KPD SWAT Generation 2.0 series she does not disappoint yet again. OFFICIALLY OVER IT is full of drama, sass and a tight knit group of friends and family. Looking forward to more in the series!

Nathan Cox is a dream. He’s hot, he’s self-confident and he’s a truly nice guy. He has his own reasons for walking away from a pro baseball career to become a SWAT officer and if people don’t like it, too bad. Just when he thinks things are starting to mellow out, his whole world goes topsy turvy, and he’s not hating certain aspects of it!

Reggie Morton is adorable. She’s a NICU nurse and part time event planner and is a spitfire full of sass and gumption. She’s always had Nathan’s back even when they fought like cats and dogs as kids, but she never expected to be tried this hard in supporting him.

I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone who loves a drama filled romance filled with alpha cops, the feisty women who loves them and more heart than you know what to do with.
