Sometimes the worst wounds can't be seen.

Lucas Everett knows that firsthand. It's why he and his former Navy SEAL brothers created the Resting Warrior Ranch.

They aren't doctors, but they can offer the healing freedom of their Montana range. And they specialize in training service and emotional support animals to help soothe even the worst emotional scars.

Usually, soldiers show up at their door. But this time it's Evelyn Taylor—a soldier in a very different kind of war.

She's as skittish as one of the horses Lucas gentles. But he's learned how to be patient with animals, and he's more than happy to be patient with this quiet beauty too.

When Evelyn's past nightmares show up in Montana, she thinks she has to run again, but Lucas isn't going to let that happen. He's protected his country against the worst types of threats, and he'll protect her too.

She's met the rancher, but now she's about to meet the SEAL.

A powerfully written, emotional journey of healing! With the first book in their Resting Warrior Ranch series Josie Jade and Janie Crouch join forces to bring us an intriguing story in MONTANA SANCTUARY and I enjoyed it fully. The direness of Evelyn’s situation quickly had my attention from the very start of the book and I was quickly hooked by her plight. One Lucas came on the scene and showed her such a gentle kindness, I was deeply entrenched in seeing their happily ever after unfold. I can’t wait for more in the series!

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a romantic suspense story with powerful backstories taking center stage. This refuge is staffed by a close knit group of guys who are there to help others like themselves be able to cope with life again after tragedy.

Antique-store owner Cricket Crosby’s life is turned upside down when she discovers that the rumors of her husband’s affair aren’t just leisurely southern gossip. Her plan: hire an investigator; find an attorney; enlist the help of her new assistant, Ruby; and make her husband pay.

Ruby knows how quickly everything changes. After a dicey past, she’s determined to forge a new future by working for Cricket and reinventing herself as a designer, deconstructing vintage haute couture. If anybody can help mend a few tears in Cricket’s life, she can.

But turns out Cricket’s life isn’t just a little torn. It’s wrinkled, stained, and falling apart at the seams. With Ruby and her ragtag relatives—a soused PI and a hunky tow truck driver—Cricket is sleuthing her way to the truth, no matter how dangerous it gets.

Sure, Cricket’s life isn’t what she imagined. But she’s embracing change and figuring out what she really wants. And that’s kind of fabulous.

Well-written, engaging and attention grabbing from start to finish! I would describe Liz Talley’s latest release as women’s fiction with a cozy mystery twist and I loved every minute of DECONSTRUCTED. The main character is successful and accomplished and watching her step up and dig up the dirt on her cheating spouse was inspiring. Her partner in crime assistant almost stole the show with her quirky style and her following of humorous relatives. I really enjoyed their friendship and seeing her succeed in bettering herself was a joy to read.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a bit of mystery mixed with drama, humor and family dynamics.

The course of true love was never supposed to start on a stair climber…

Preslee Owens has never worked out in a gym before. Like truly never. Until today. As she struggles to stay upright on the stair climber, she accidentally broadcasts a vlog that lets complete strangers—and even worse, people in her own small town--witness the hilarious start to her fitness journey. To her surprise and mortification, viewers love it.

The positive reaction leaves Preslee with no choice but to return—and the discovery that her unrequited crush, Josh, works out in the same gym is a big bonus. It also helps that her new personal trainer is making sure she doesn’t kill herself in the process. In fact, Adam has even offered to pretend to be her boyfriend to help make Josh a little jealous.

Having Adam cheering her on brings out a strength and confidence Preslee barely recognizes in herself. And soon she’s enjoying being his fake girlfriend waaay too much. But will her newfound courage allow her to face her biggest fear yet and seize the life she truly wants?

Fun, quirky and down right addictive! With the fourth book in her always humorous A Perfect Fit series Alison Bliss returns with a solid addition to the series with OUT OF THE BLUE. I was quickly hooked by Preslee’s sincere personality, laugh out loud embarrassing moments and the sweet connection she and Adam have right from the start. I loved seeing a few of the guys from the series pop up in here, but I would have loved to have seen even more. Book 1 and 2 will still always be my favs, but Preslee and Adam did a pretty good job of hooking my heart.

I recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who loves a plus size heroine full of love, laughter and snark. Bliss is the queen of adding some sass to her stories!

Here’s a taste of what’s in this collection:

Promise Me Provence by Elizabeth Thompson

Rita Brooks has a talent for making life beautiful for her clients in Savannah, Georgia. Never mind that her personal world is in disarray. She’s so busy she barely has time to notice…especially now that she’s landed a dream project transforming an eighteenth-century rectory in Avignon, France into an artists’ retreat. The farther away from her heartache this young widow can get, the better. The only problem is the silent partner in the venture is world-famous furniture artisan Philippe Beaulieu—young, eccentric, irritatingly… French. Their sensibilities clash from the first bonjour, but, as the saying goes, vive la différence!

Working closely in the magical Provençal countryside, Rita discovers they have a lot more in common than she first thought. As she faces her fears, she begins to believe a second chance at love might be in the picture. But can she find the courage to design a perfect life for herself?

One and Only You by Cindy Kirk

Rachel Grabinski is no stranger to setbacks, but she never stays down for long.  When she catches her boyfriend in bed with another woman, her sunny and optimistic nature is sorely tried.  Jumping into another relationship is the last thing on her mind.

On the surface, successful, smooth-talking Dixon Carlyle is every woman’s dream man. But Dixon’s past holds secrets, ones that could derail the life he’s been building in Hazel Green.  For years he’s kept his heart safe…but that was before Rachel’s sweet nature crept under his defenses.

It’s not the right time for love for two people with wounded hearts.  And trust doesn’t come easy when you’ve been burned before. The safest thing for Rachel and Dixon would be to walk away now…

But their time together has awakened all kinds of new dreams in Dixon and Rachel–dreams they’ll fight for, no matter what the cost!

Wishing Beach by Heather Burch

After a painful divorce from a narcissist, Angela Reed-Baker has taken up residence on the famous Wishing Beach Island, a destination known for granted wishes beneath the mysterious Banyan tree near her beachfront estate.

Just as Angela begins to settle in, her life takes an unlikely turn when she discovers a tattered photograph of a young woman among her groundskeeper’s belongings.

Intrigued, she asks him about the picture. With time weathered fingers and an underlying sadness in his eyes, he slips the photo from Angela and admits the girl was, “The One.”

When he refuses to reveal more, Angela digs into his past. What happened to the young woman he loved? And why does there seem to be a judicial cover-up shrouding the story of the two star-crossed lovers, a cover-up that may reach all the way to the Florida Senate.

But Angela’s journey is also one of self-reinvention as she navigates life free from the bonds of her controlling ex-husband.
With her handsome neighbor and new friend, mystery novelist Ryan North by her side, Angela embarks on a voyage of discovery but the trail quickly runs cold until she’s whisked away to the romantic streets of Paris, France. She realizes the bonds of love shared by her groundskeeper and the young woman run as deep as the brooding Atlantic Ocean.

Along with that love are dark secrets, long hidden, but with the power to threaten life as she knows it.

The unsolved murder of a young activist leads to the discovery of much darker crimes in New York Times bestselling author Allison Brennan’s latest compelling thriller to feature the young, edgy detective Kara Quinn and the loner FBI agent Matt Costa. This time they work to uncover possible ties to a high-stakes cartel in the Southwest desert.

Something mysterious is killing the wildlife in the mountains just south of Tucson. When a college intern turned activist sets out to collect her own evidence, she, too, ends up dead. Local law enforcement is slow to get involved. That’s when the mobile FBI unit goes undercover to infiltrate the town and its copper refinery in search of possible leads.

Quinn and Costa find themselves scouring the desolate landscape, which keeps revealing clues to something much darker—greed, child trafficking and more death. As the body count adds up, it’s clear they have stumbled onto much more than they bargained for. Now they must figure out who is at the heart of this mayhem and stop them before more innocent lives are lost.

Multiple crimes colliding make for an addictive story when Quinn and Costa once again join forces to take down the bad guys in TELL NO LIES by Allison Brennan! I was quickly intrigued by the concept of the story of this second book in the series and numerous undercover missions held my attention throughout. I’m looking forward to more from this dynamic duo!

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a mystery chock full of danger and surprises around every corner.

Falling for your best friend is one thing, accidentally getting knocked up by him is another…

Hockey hottie Garrett Dubiak has been my best friend since college and the one constant in my life the past seven years. Through distance, career changes, and other relationships, we’ve always found our way back to each other.

Including one wild weekend this winter, when he finally told me he wanted more… wanted everything from me.

Too afraid to admit I felt the same, I told him I needed time.

Twelve weeks later, here I am, pregnant with his baby, alone, and terrified.

He’s my best friend. He deserves to know the truth.

So I swallow my fear, my pride, and I shoot my shot. I just hope he’s still willing to have me—and our baby.

Such an adorable couple! I was quickly hooked after starting this first book in Stacey Lynn’s latest hockey series and I’m anxiously awaiting more! GAME CHANGER is a sassy friends to lovers romance with a huge twist and kicks off the Las Vegas Vipers hockey series nicely. I wanted a bit more development of what their past was all about ultimately, but overall I really connected with them and was entrenched in their story from start to finish.

I recommend this book to anyone who loves a dramatic hockey romance with strong characters and heartwarming yet sexy connections.

GREEK HEIR TO CLAIM HER HEART is the first book in the Greek Paradise Escape series featuring the manager of a luxury resort meeting her match when the new owner of said resort arrives planning to sweep the rug out from under her. The characters were intriguing from the start and their gentle love story held my interest throughout.

In Sin City, the stakes are high. Bet big and you may win it all—but you could also lose far more than you bargained for.

Indie Garrison is in over her head. Ditched by her husband in the dead of the night, she’s suddenly a broke single mom living with her sister. Sure, she and pro hockey player Pike Morgan got off on the wrong foot in a big way, and admittedly, it was entirely her fault. But Indie’s been fooled by a man for the last time, and no matter how hard Pike tries to break down her walls, she’s not falling for him. At least, that’s what she keeps telling herself.

Pike Morgan is at the top of his game. Being drafted by the new Las Vegas expansion team was ideal for the bearded, blue-eyed NHL goalie who’s only serious about two things: hockey and partying. When he accepts a bet from a teammate, he finds himself wooing a spirited woman who wants nothing to do with him. Once he gets to know her and her young son, though, he regrets his wager. If Indie finds out the truth, she’s going to hate the player and the game.

Highly addictive and downright sweet! Brenda Rothert’s second venture into her new Sin City Saints series is a slow burning delight as PIKE meets his match when he least expects it. The characters are endearing and the story is filled with life’s ups and downs in various aspects as love wins out in this opposites attract story.

I highly recommend this book as well as the prior book in the series to anyone who enjoys a hockey player being swept off his feet when love knocks him for a loop and turns him into a new man. Sexy, sweet and delightful.

EXCERPT

“What do you think of the new blocker?” Katz asks me.
We’ve just finished up practice but we’re still on the ice. I smile as I watch Rudy getting hit with rapid-fire pucks. He’s a good guy who dreamed of playing pro hockey but didn’t make it, so he became a trainer instead. His name’s actually John, but we call him Rudy because of his enthusiasm for being the best practice goalie ever.
“It’s okay,” I say, taking off the blocker I’m wearing. It’s a new model Katz asked me to try out in practice.
“You’re not ready to wear it in games yet,” Katz says.
“No way. Me and my blocker are like Smeagol and his ring.”
Katz grins. “I never would have pegged you as a Lord of the Rings fan.”
“Are you kidding? I love that shit. The movies, I mean. It would take me years to get through the books, and I’m not much of a reader.”
“Morgan!” Our head coach, Phil Bear, calls out to me while pointing at someone standing next to him. “This intern needs to see you. Get your ass over there!”
Coach never bothers to learn the names of any of the front office interns. I look over, squinting to make out the face Coach is talking about. I think his name is Shawn, but I’m not confident enough to call him that out loud. I nod in response to him and set my blocker, catcher, and mask on the bench before skating over to the intern at the end of the rink.
I think I talked to Shawn once, and he seemed like a good guy. He’s a college student from what I remember. My gaze immediately shifts to the woman next to him, who is smoking hot. She’s petite, with glossy black hair that falls just to her shoulders in a straight line, beautiful light brown skin, and warm brown eyes. Unfortunately, though, she’s glaring at me.
“What can I do for you?” I ask.
“Sorry to interrupt practice,” Shawn says. “This woman says—”
The exotic hottie cuts him off. “You’re Pike Morgan?”
I grin. “The one and only.”
“You bought a baseball from Vegas Sports Collectors.”
“Yeah?”
“The Roger Maris one?”
“Right.”
What’s this about? I furrow my brow, wondering what this woman has to do with the baseball I just added to my collection.
“I’m the seller,” she says. “They brokered it for a commission. And when my sister gave it to the guy from Vegas Sports Collectors, she didn’t realize I had put my grandmother’s ring inside the case. Can I please have the ring back?”
“There was no ring inside that case.”
Her nostrils flare slightly. I’d find it cute if she wasn’t so pissed off at me for no reason.
“I distinctly remember putting it in the Roger Maris baseball case a few weeks ago. It’s not valuable. I mean, it’s not monetarily valuable, but it holds a lot of sentimental value for me. It was my grandma’s, and it’s all I have left of her.” Tears shine in her eyes. “Can I please have it back?”
“I’d give it to you if I had it, but I don’t.”
“I know it was in there.”
I shake my head. “I already took the ball out of the case it was in and put it in a new one. There was nothing but the ball in that case.”
“That’s impossible! The case has a latch, so there’s no way it opened and fell out on accident.”
I shrug.
“Look, you must make good money, so what’s a little sapphire ring to you?”
“Listen—what’s your name?”
“Indie Garrison.”
“Listen, Indie Garrison—I don’t have it, okay?”
She buries her face in her hands, and the picture tugs on my heartstrings because it looks like she’s crying, but it only lasts a nanosecond. Because when she lifts her face to look at me, the only expression I see if complete and utter fury.
“I’m willing to buy it,” she says in a level tone.
This chick is about half crazy. She’s right—why would I give a shit about someone’s sapphire ring? I wouldn’t care if it was a giant diamond ring. If it wasn’t mine, I’d return it.
If I had it.
“I can’t sell you something I don’t have.”
“So what, it just disappeared into thin air?”
“I have no idea. I paid for the ball and picked it up yesterday, then took it out of the case and put it in my display case. You’re welcome to have the original case back, but it’s empty.”
“Okay…” Shawn tactfully clears his throat and gives me an apologetic look. “You asked me to see Mr. Morgan and you’ve done that, so…”
Indie gives him a withering glare. She may be small, but damn, this woman has some fire.

Trapped, all my choices are taken away apart from one.

Sariah has secrets. I can see it in her eyes. There's a sadness that swirls within them, a fear of what we're doing. I want to know who put that look on her face and protect her from it. I will burn the world to ashes to keep her safe.
But when the truth is revealed, and I learn she is being forced to wed a man who has a reputation darker than my own, I realise how much danger Sariah is in. I'm not sure the might of the Fraser crime family will be enough to save her life.

Or mine.

*Warning : Contains adult content, reading age 18 +. Graphic violence and dark emotional scenes that may trigger some readers.

Gritty, raw and explosive! With the first book in her Fraser Crime Syndicate series Jessica Ames is turning Lucas Fraser loose on the world and showing us a side to him we never expected in FRACTURED VOWS. Their lifestyle is dangerous and ugly, but the love this group of siblings feels for one another as life threatens to beat them down on a daily basis is addictive. I loved Sariah and Luke together and their love story was beautiful, but I really wanted more for the ending. It ended abruptly and I wanted at a minimum to hear how his family faired in the fallout of her association. I enjoyed seeing familiar faces from the Untamed Sons MC series!

I thoroughly enjoyed this first book in the series and would recommend it to anyone who likes a mafia style romance that has strict rules for the family and ugly fallout when tested. I’m looking forward to more to come in the series.
