Dare Me Tonight is a sexy take on a forbidden love type of story. He’s a successful businessman with a boat load of drama behind him and she’s a breath of fresh air having newly graduated from college and trying to figure out what drives her in life to settle into the right type of career. He just happens to have a billion dollar contract happening with her brother’s company right now, so getting involved is not a good idea.

Ethan Knight is particularly satisfying to read about because we’ve already read about his life being torn apart by secrets and lies in his brother’s books previously, so we already have a great deal of empathy towards this man who deserves to find his happily ever after.

Sienna Dare brings us back into the Dare family who has been beloved for years and we get to see the story from her point of view and watch her thrive in the family that she didn’t think wanted her for so long.

The story was fast paced and satisfying every step of the way. I thoroughly enjoyed every page and wish there had been even more to read about with this couple and these families overall. The Knight Brothers series has been filled with love, angst, family strength and has simply been a joy to read. You can’t go wrong with any book in the series, but this one in particular snagged my heart early!

“Okay, I’m in the bathroom, door closed. What in God’s name is going on?” Thank God Avery did as she was told.

“I found the guy. The one. He’s in the other room now and I’m freaking out!” She didn’t tell Avery who she was with. Her half sister and best friend would pick up on the pertinent details.

“Oh my God. You’re going to lose your virginity!” Avery squealed.

“Shh! Just tell me I can do this. I need to know I’m not crazy.”

Avery’s breathing sounded over the phone, and then, “You waited this long. If you’ve found the guy, you’ve found the guy. Now pull up your big-girl thong and get back in there!”she instructed.

Laughing, which broke the tension and was just what Sienna needed in the face of Ethan’s intensity, she relaxed, comfortable again with her decision. “I’m going. Thank you! Bye!”

She breathed out, brushed her teeth, and went to undo her dress only to find she couldn’t reach the back herself. So that was how it was going to go.

She drew a steadying breath and returned to ask Ethan for help. She stepped back into the room.

He’d removed his jacket and hung it over a chair and rolled up the sleeves of his dress shirt, revealing tanned, muscled forearms.

She swallowed hard and, knowing she was blushing, said, “I need help with my dress.”

His eyes darkened at the request, ice darkening to a darker, sexier shade of blue.

She turned, pulling her long hair to one side.

He placed his empty glass on the nearest table and strode over, all her senses aware of him as he came closer. His seductive scent, the heat of his body, the sharp inhale of his breath as he placed his big hands behind her and slowly, seductively pulled down the zipper, until she felt the rush of cool air on her bare back and the warmth of his breath near her neck.

She was more aware than ever of the tiny scrap of lace she called underwear and the matching bra she’d chosen to wear. Just because she’d liked the set, not because she’d ever thought anyone besides her would see it.

His breath hissed out, and suddenly his calloused finger traced a line down her spine, causing her nipples to peak and tighten with awareness, sharp spikes of desire shooting to her core.

He slid the sides of her dress down and the garment dropped to the floor, leaving her bared to him in more ways than just physical. ABOUT KATHY DOUGLASS

Kathy is a born reader who as a child always had her nose in a book. She went from reading Bobbsey Twins to romance novels. One day she stumbled upon The Shining by Stephen King and was hooked on horror. When she caught herself checking under the bed and looking in the closet for monsters, she knew it was time to put down the horror and return to romance novels.

Her return was short-lived. She started law school and soon her reading was limited to legal opinions. Then she discovered Harlequin romances. They were short enough to read in a week and she wouldn’t have to search her room before she went to sleep.

When her first child was born, she became a stay at home mom. Her second child soon followed, and reading was limited to children’s books.

All too soon her kids were attending pre-school. Kathy spent those hours renewing her relationship with romance novels. Soon she felt the urge to write the stories she wanted to read. Gritty, emotional and raw! My first read by Natasha Madison did NOT disappoint! With a powerful story of recovery and redemption, we go along for the ride for a pro hockey player’s return to the game after crashing and burning in front of millions of people. He’s a good guy but doesn’t think much of himself … she’s sassy and self-assured and can easily see he’s top of the line. They vow to be friends, but the sexy looks and connected feelings continue to get the best of them at every social outing they attend. The characters and supporting cast were all really fun to get to know. They’re a close knit group of friends which brings an emotional depth to the dialogue that really strikes a chord with the reader. Really enjoyed Viktor’s story and look forward to more in the series!

Realtor Zoe Stone had no interest in slowing her rise to the top down to be bothered with mundane things like dating. She’s at the top of her game and nothing is going to get in her way … especially a hockey player!

Viktor Petrov is newly out of rehab and shocked that a team was even willing to pick him up for the season after the spectacle he made of himself at the end of the previous season. He has to buckle down and make sure he’s all in for this second chance … it has to be all about him and his health 24/7. Until he meets her … the sassy go-getter who vows she hates hockey. He’s so tempted by her that he can’t see straight. They agree to friend zone each other … but temptation is strong … oh so strong.

This story line has a powerful edge, yet the camaraderie of this close group of friends brings a light-hearted aspect to the dialogue as well. The back story is fairly well developed and while the hint of intrigue falls a bit flat, the human emotion is spot on and carries the story well. Really enjoying this entire series!

Sienna Knight is attempting to heal her broken heart over the loss of her best friend, but the emotional turmoil of it all has taken it’s toll. Being around Aiden is bittersweet. She needs him close to make herself feel like she’s coming full-circle in her emotional well-being, but she’s torn because he’s supposed to be forbidden.

Aiden Connolly is finally putting in an effort to heal the rift that has been festering in his family for years, and it’s bittersweet. He expected some hesitation from her over the marriage thing. Hell, he’d hesitated himself. It had taken him a full two weeks to process her father’s offer—or rather, ultimatum—and come to grips with the idea of marrying a stranger. Seeing his mentor, Elias, hooked up to half a dozen different machines after having a fall in his home, with tubes coming out of every orifice, had finally pushed him over the edge.

“Stuffing or mounting,” she said. “It includes both.”

Was she for real? Her expression didn’t reveal even a sliver of amusement.

“I see it as a way to prolong an animal’s life,” she explained. “I know it might seem a little strange, but trust me. When I bring my collection over, you’ll see how wonderful it is.”

He gulped. “Your collection?”

A delightful read! Kicking off a new Ice Knights hockey series, Avery Flynn brings her signature spunk to life with a set of unlikely-to-hook up characters who are stuck going on dates through a dating app. The hockey action was a bit light, but the characters were fresh and lots of fun to watch get into one mess after another. Well developed characters, funny dialogue and lots of spice made this a really enjoyable read!

“So why are you on Bramble?”

She took another small bite from her roll before answering. “My best friend is blackmailing me, and my dad wants a SAG card.”

That was definitely not the answer he’d been expecting. “And I thought my reasoning was twisted.”

“I’m sure it all makes sense in Gemma’s head,” Zara said. “She thinks I work too much and need to loosen up. She’ll let me be her plus-one to go meet a collector if I do the Bramble five dates thing. And my dad? Well, let’s just say he’s never met an unlikely plan he didn’t think he could pull off.”

All the possibilities this created sped around inside his head until one broke free like a perfect fast break late in the third period when the game was on the line. All he had to do was put the biscuit in the net.

“So neither of us really wants to be here,” he said. “We’re each other’s solution to getting back to our regular lives as soon as possible.”

It was fucking perfect. Petrov’s job with the team would be safe for another season—well, as safe as he could be, considering he didn’t have a no-trade deal in his contract.

Zara, though, didn’t seem to be seeing the genius of it, going by the suspicious look she gave him as she took another bite of her roll. Instead of giving him a straight-up no, though, she started eating. The words—okay, begging pleas—were bubbling up inside him but for once, he kept it in lockdown. He wasn’t about to rush this play, no matter how it had every nerve in his body jinglejangling.

Finally, she used her napkin to wipe the corners of her mouth, straightened her spine, and looked him dead in the eye. “We’d have to have ground rules.”

“Sure. Whatever you want.” Ice Knights season tickets? He’d make that happen. A photo op with her dad’s favorite player? Done. Whatever it took, he’d do it.

“This isn’t a real or fake relationship, it’s a temporary alliance,” she said without an ounce of humor in her tone. “I’m not pretending to be your girlfriend or the random chick you’re banging this week.”

“Agreed.” All of that sounded like it would cause more problems than it would solve anyway. “I’ve got a condition. Dressing up is not required. I’m not putting on a suit.”

The best thing about the off-season was not having to strangle himself with a tie multiple times a week just for a bus ride to the rink or a plane trip to another city. Coach Peppers was old-fashioned about doing things the original way.

“Fine.” Zara held up three fingers. “The third stipulation is that I’m not putting on a good attitude. If it’s been a crappy day, I don’t have to pretend to be a manic pixie dream girl.”

He snorted. “No one who’s met you would believe that. You’re a little salty.” That was putting it mildly based on her attitude when she showed up for their date.

“I have my reasons.” She added another finger, so she was holding up four. “Oh, and no making love. Sex?” She paused and looked him over quickly. “Maybe. Emotional, heartfelt, staring-each-other-in-the-eyes making love? Not gonna happen. No offense, but you’re not my type.”

What the hell? Not her type? He was a professional athlete making millions. He’d been led to believe he was everyone’s type.

“Not a problem, since I don’t think we could see eye to eye while having sex unless you magically grew a foot,” he said.

“You’re not into being creative?” Zara rolled her eyes. “I guess that’s expected for someone who has probably had women throwing themselves at him for years. You haven’t ever had to work for it.”

Caleb had no idea what to say to that. He’d been punched square in the face by the most feared goons in hockey and it hadn’t knocked him as senseless as this little five-foot-nothing of a snarky woman had done with a few choice words.
