So many surprise twists in this book!  I really enjoyed it!

Caitlyn Hopewell opens the door and is blown away!  Antonio Cavallari, father of her triplets and believed to be dead for the last year, is on her doorstep!

Caitlyn had agreed to be a surrogate for her sister Vanessa and her husband Antonio.  She was 4 months pregnant when they left on a trip to Thailand that they never returned from.  Their plane crashed and all were believed to be dead.  Caitlyn has been raising the babies as her own since their birth.

Antonio has no idea who he is.  He was found in the water in Indonesia by a fisherman and taken to a village to recuperate. A knock in the head has given him back a snippet of memory.  He remembered his house in Malibu, so he struggled to find his way there to see if someone could tell him who he was.

Once Caitlyn is convinced that it’s really Antionio, she starts to try to fill him in as much as she can on his previous life and integrate him back into his busy lifestyle as a billionaire MMA fighter, turned venue owner.

Will Antonio take the kids away from Caitlyn once he’s settled back into his life, or will they decide to raise them together.  And when he realizes that Caitlyn has feelings for him, will he decide to take a chance and act on his attraction?

Great characters!  I really enjoyed meeting Cal & Scout and can’t wait for the future stories about their K-9 teammates!

Calen Palmer is new to the San Diego K-9 Search and Rescue team when the city is surprisingly hit by a strong earthquake.  It’s Cal & his partner K-9 Scout’s job to get out there and search for trapped victims.  They are searching a partially collapsed office building when Scout alerts on a pile of rubble.  After some dangerous maneuvering, they rescue 5 year old Kayla from a hallway, where unfortunately her Mom died instantly.

Jessica Hansen is the trauma surgeon doing triage at the command center set up for the rescues.  She sends Kayla to be admitted for observation, and Cal has a fairly severe leg injury that requires him to be in the hospital for several days as well.  Cal and Jessica bond over his dog Scout because she ends up helping him out with him while he’s being transported in the ambulance, then again later when he can’t handle taking care of him the first couple of weeks out of the hospital.  Even thought they are both a bit gun-shy because of personal things that have happened to them in recent years, they decide to date casually.

Past drama leaves them both leary of this relationship they are stepping into, and they hit several roadblocks along the way.  Will they be able to overcome their issues and find happiness or will they go their separate ways?

Her Accidental Husband

4 STARS!

Payton Vaughn is headed to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for her best friend Kate’s wedding.  Her fiance Brad was supposed to be there with her, but flaked at the last minute for some work problem.  She was pretty rough on him when he cancelled, so decides to FaceTime him before she boards the plane.  She’s shocked to see him in a compromising position with another woman.

Cruz Sorenson is sitting across the airport also waiting to board the plane to Puerto Vallarta.  He’s the Best Man, and it’s his brother marrying Kate.  Upon learning that Payton would be traveling alone, Kate twisted his arm to delay his flight a day so he could be there along with her.

One thing after another happens to throw a wrench in them making it to the wedding on time.  Their plane has problems and they have to end up driving, then they are almost in an accident and the car ends up being damaged and leaving them delayed longer.  Along the way, Payton and Cruz realize the other one isn’t as bad as they originally thought.  She thought he was a workaholic jerk, and he thought she was an entitled trust-fund Princess.

Crosswinds

5 STARS!

Best one yet!  I wanted this one to be longer because it was just getting good!

This episode centered mostly around the younger crowd.  Luis, Mallory, Lacey & Jeffry hanging out at Luis’s house and around town.  Lacey is spiraling out of control because she misses her brother Jacob, and her Mom is too busy fawning over Ginny during the times that she’s not floundering herself, and her Dad is not even around anymore.  She decides she wants Luis, and even though he’s dating her supposed best friend Mallory, she starts flirting hot and heavy and putting the moves on him.

Jeffry is working part time at the newspaper and finds out from Mallory that his Dad supposedly hit on her sister Dakota last year.  He doesn’t believe it, and warns Dakota to stay away from his family.

Ginny is upset after Lacey goes off on her about Jacob and walks to the park to calm down and sees that Logan Murphy is home from Afghanistan a week earlier than his family said he was going to be, and that he’s acting strange.

Can’t wait to find out more!

BOOK REVIEW – His Texas Christmas Bride – Nancy Robards Thompson

His Texas Christmas Bride

5 STARS!

It wasn’t in her lifelong plan to be virtual strangers with the man she just found out she’s pregnant with twins with, but Becca Flannigan can’t make herself regret it either.  Who knew the one and only time in life she had a one night stand with a hot doctor, THIS would happen.

At the hospital with family one night, Becca meets Nick Ciotti, then runs into him again at a restaurant later that night and spends the night with him.  Three months later, she stumbles across him again and he finds out they are pregnant.  They start to spend time together to get to know each other, then sort of start dating.  Becca wants the fairy tale family, but Nick doesn’t think he has it in him to give it to her.  He had tragedy in his life as a kid and his family splintered.  He has no role model of what a father and family is supposed to be.  Can he find the strength to overcome his past and have a future with Becca, or will he set her free because he doesn’t think he’s worthy of her and their babies?

I loved this book!  I started reading and couldn’t put it down.  Both of these characters are scarred from the families they grew up with, but you can’t help but like them.  He’s standoffish when he feels cornered, but so sweet when he lets his guard down.  And she’s sort of meek when she lets her family walk all over her, but you find yourself rooting for her anyway.
