Shay Benson adored her younger brother, Caden, and that got her into trouble. When he owed money, Shay realized she would do anything to help him avoid the men who were threatening him, and she crossed lines she never should have crossed. Now, determined to start fresh, she finds herself in search of a place to stay and wanders into a church to escape from the cold.

Pastor Drew Douglas adored his wife. But when he lost her, it was all he could do to focus on his two beautiful kids, and his flock came in a distant third. Now, as he too is thinking about a fresh start, he walks through his sanctuary and finds Shay sitting in a pew.

The pair strike up a friendship—Drew helps Shay get back on her feet, and she reignites his sense of purpose—that, over time, turns into something deeper, something soulful, spiritual, and possibly romantic. Even Drew’s two children are taken with this woman who has brought light back into their lives. Perhaps most important, Shay learns to trust again as she, in turn, proves herself trustworthy to her adopted community.

But Caden’s return to town and a disastrous secret threaten to undo the life Shay has tried so hard to rebuild. It will take the utmost courage and faith if she and Drew hope to find healing and open their hearts to a brighter future.

A moving read about second chances and keeping your faith handy even when times are tough! Great characters, fun connections, lots of lessons learned, and just a general good feeling book!

Shay Benson didn’t have a great life, but she was on solid footing towards bettering herself when she was faced with a personal dilemma. With the path she chose, she broke trust and confidences and lost her way. Now trying to pick up the pieces, she stumbles into a church to get warm for a few minutes and meets the man that will change her life.

Pastor Drew Douglas is trying to feel his way out of the despair his life became after losing his wife. His two children pull him out of his mind and make him function day after day, and he knows he needs to move forward in whatever way he can. He stumbles upon Shay in the church and offers her comfort. His kindness and the program he refers her to helps her greatly. When they touch base again and she meets and connects with his kid, they strike up a friendship and see each other on occasion … eventually turning romantic!

Juliet Parker must save her grandfather's restaurant from ruin. Unfortunately, her main obstacle, wealthy restaurateur Caleb Watford, not only has a competing business, but he also sets her pulse racing! What better way to negotiate than with red-hot seduction?

Soon, Juliet's bedroom truce ends in pregnancy—with twins! The stakes have never been higher, and Caleb is used to winning—in business and in pleasure…

Temptation indeed! The characters are fun … kind, yet sassy. The story line was interesting, but I would have liked the pregnancy to have played an earlier part so that there was more than just the back and forth of the business drama.

Juliet Parker and her sister Melissa have recently come back to Whiskey Bay, Washington to reopen their grandfather’s dream business in his honor. They are hard at work and on a strict budget to get things done when the neighbor comes knocking with complaints of them reopening back up after all these years!

Caleb Watford has his own plans for a business nearby, and the fact that Jules is here is going to throw a major wrench in it! It would be easier to deal with if he wasn’t so attracted and drawn to her. When a one night fling amidst their fighting leads to twins being on the way, they are going to have to think fast and straighten things out!
