Conflicted in the depth of her feelings for bad boy Gavin Kingsley, lonely librarian Emma Bell knows he’s all wrong for her—yet the heart wants what it wants.

But if she gives into his dark, erotic desires will she lose herself completely?

Passion, drama and suspense combine in the highly-anticipated conclusion to Emma Bell’s love affair with the alpha and enigmatic Kingsley brothers. Secrets will be exposed, sides will be chosen, and nothing will ever be the same.

This is book two in the series, following Dirty Little Secret.

Angst filled drama with a boat load of steaminess! When we left off from the first book in the Forbidden Desires series, we were left with a shocking cliffhanger. This book picks up shortly after and deals with the aftermath. I wanted a little more from the book personally and felt like it was a bit of a let down after the first. I still enjoy the characters … but the plot could have been spiced up a bit to match the first book. Still an enjoyable group of people though, and I’m looking forwarding to what the future holds! I recommend reading this series in order or you will miss some key points along the way.

Conflicted librarian Emma Bell can’t decide what to do. Does she say the secrets she’s discovered about Gavin Kingsley don’t matter to her, or does she turn her back on his bad boy hotness and say that nice guy Cooper is more her style? Gavin pushes her hot buttons like no other, but will giving in to her carnal desires only lead to heartache in the end?

From partners to parents!

Dr. Gabriel Jackson and paramedic Penny Davenport make a great team—despite driving each other crazy! She's Manhattan Mercy's daredevil helicopter pilot, who thrives on adventure after a childhood spent wrapped in cotton wool, while he's the cautious flight doctor who, after a disastrous marriage, will never take risks again.

But after the elation of surviving a storm explodes into passion, Penny discovers she's pregnant! This could be an unforgettable Christmas—if they listen to their hearts and take the greatest risk of all!

Sexy, sweet and tension filled! If you’ve been reading along with the Christmas in Manhattan series at all, you will recognize the Davenport family. It’s been a great series, and Penny might just turn out to be my favorite one yet! She’s sassy and doesn’t act like she comes from the glamour and prestige that we know she does. She’s definitely one of those characters that is a breath of fresh air where what you see is what you get. I really enjoyed going on this journey with her and her sexy doc!

Paramedic/rescue pilot Penny Davenport leads a daring and fun-filled life, but for her partner in the air Dr. Gabriel Jackson, she’s a whirlwind that is hard to keep grounded! When a risky turn of events lead them stranded for the night, they have a slip up in the resistance they had built around their attraction for each other and spend a passion filled night together. No harm no foul, they decide to forget it ever happened … until she finds out their romp has left them with a baby on the way!

Gabriel guards himself with a wall around his emotions after a disastrous marriage in his past, so he has to work really hard to let himself get closer to Penny … and the fact that she’s a daredevil who doesn’t want to be reigned in doesn’t make for an easy-going transition into parents-to-be. Will they find that the baby isn’t the only thing drawing them towards each other in the end?

The boss’s baby bargain…

Becoming a father was never part of Jager McNeill’s plan, until the heat between him and his luscious assistant turned into searing passion. Now Delia Rickard is carrying his baby. After growing up without a father, Jager’s determined to be there for his child. And marriage would ensure that. But despite their chemistry, Delia’s unwilling to marry for anything less than love.

A trip with Jager to Manhattan could change all that. For in this enchanting city ablaze with Christmas lights, romance begins to blossom. And a kiss under the mistletoe just might turn into lasting love.

With a fun take on an affair with the boss storyline, Joanne Rock brings us the next book in her McNeill Magnates series. When a shocking revelation brought about the news that they had three half-brothers out there, the original McNeill brothers set out to try to touch base with them. This book introduces us to them, and brings us Jager’s story. I really loved the instant chemistry and connection between Jager and Delia and the baby surprise made a riveting read. The only thing I would have liked to have seen more of, would be a stronger connection being made between these three brothers as the start of what almost feels like a 2nd split off of the series. I think we will eventually get to dig deep into their closeness with each other, but this book fell a little weak in that set up. Overall though, a great continuation of the McNeill saga!

With his brother’s life currently in turmoil, Jager McNeil is left to carry the bulk of the load in making sure their business endeavors are taken care of. Thank goodness he has a strong assistant who has literally been running things for him on the Martinique side of things! When he ventures home to take care of some business, a fluke accident brings them in close contact with each other and brings about an attention getting night!

Delia Richards can’t believe how easily she lets her guard down with Jager! Sure, she’s been attracted to him since they met a couple of years ago, but he’s her boss and she really needs this job! Can they find a way to make this connection work? And when Jager needs a push in the right direction when it comes to a family matter, will she be just the inspiration he needs to take the next step … especially when they find out a little one is on the way??

EXCERPT:

“I don’t think any of us exercise our best judgement when our world is flipped upside down.” She’d been a wreck when they’d met. Literally. She’d almost plowed right into him on a Jet Ski she’d taken from the dock near where she’d planned to say her vows.

“Is that what’s happening here?” he asked, shifting on the sofa cushions in a way that squared them up somehow. Put him fractionally closer. “The world is off-kilter today?”

The low rasp of his voice, a subtle intimacy of tone that she hadn’t heard from him before, brought heat raining down over her skin. Her gaze lowered to his mouth before she thought the better of it.

“That’s not what I meant.” She felt breathless. Her words were a light whisper of air, but she couldn’t draw a deep breath without inhaling the scent of him.

Without wanting him.

“It’s true, though.” He skimmed a touch just below her chin, drawing her eyes up to his. “Something happened in the water today. Something changed between us.”

No, she wanted to protest. To call it out for a lie.

Yet he was right and they both knew it.

His touch lingered, the barest brush of his knuckles beneath her jaw. She wanted to dip her cheek toward his hand to increase the pressure, to really feel him.

Madness. Total madness to think it, let alone act on it.

“We can’t let that happen.” She needed to maintain the balance of power. Rebuild some guise of professionalism before it was too late. “This job is too important to me.”

Shakily, she shot to her feet. She stalked to the window on legs that felt like liquid, forcing herself to focus. To get this conversation back on track. Why hadn’t she simply spoken to him about the community garden?

“And your professional skills are valuable to me as well. But we can work around that.” Behind her, his voice was controlled. Far more level than she felt. “Besides, do you really believe ignoring it will make it go away, Delia?”

She felt him approach, his step quiet but certain. He stood beside her at the window, giving her personal space, yet not conceding her point. The soft glow of a nearby sconce cast his face in partial shadow.

“If we both make an effort, yes. Of course.” She nodded, hoping she sounded more sure of herself than she felt. “We’re both adults with professional agendas. We can keep those work goals front and center when we’re together.”

“Like we did today.” His gaze fixed on some point outside the window, but his eyebrows rose in question.

“Today was an aberration.” It had to be. “Emotions ran high. We were both scared for Emily.” She wanted it to be as simple as that. “Just an adrenaline moment.”

Her heart fluttered oddly as he turned toward her again, taking her measure. Seeing right through her.

“So what about this moment, right now?” he asked. “Adrenaline?”

She licked her suddenly dry lips. Willed herself to come up with a logical explanation for the way the air simmered all around them. The way her skin sensed his every movement.

With a magical glimpse into the history and culture of China, the Man On A Mission series is back to lead us heart first into Niall’s story! The characters have not only a steamy sexual chemistry, but also a really fun banter between them that makes you smile as you enjoy it. The plot was fairly well developed, with a little drag here and there, but overall a well told story that left us with that delightful happily ever after that we love so much!

Determined to conquer a lifetime of shyness, Harriet Knight challenges herself to do one thing a day in December that scares her, including celebrating Christmas without her family. But when dog walker Harriet meets her newest client, exuberant spaniel Madi, she adds an extra challenge to her list—dealing with Madi’s temporary dog sitter, gruff doctor Ethan Black, and their very unexpected chemistry.

Ethan thought he was used to chaos, until he met Madi—how can one tiny dog cause such mayhem? To Ethan, the solution is simple—he will pay Harriet to share his New York apartment and provide twenty-four-hour care. But there’s nothing simple about how Harriet makes him feel.

Ethan’s kisses make Harriet shine brighter than the stars over moonlit Manhattan. But when his dog-sitting duties are over and Harriet returns to her own home, will she dare to take the biggest challenge of all—letting Ethan know he has her heart for life, not just for Christmas?

Sweet characters, explosive tension and a sassy dog make for an awesome read! I loved seeing Harriet strive to take control of her life … and find her happily ever after along the way! Watching her overcome her past was a powerful story line that brings mixed emotions to the surface. Pride for her being able to find the strength to try to better herself, yet sadness for the little girl she was. Great story line with lots of laughs along the journey … and a perfect match of characters. Loved it!

Shy introvert Harriet Knight is determined to cut the cord from her twin sister and over-protective brother. She adores them, but she needs to step up and be able to exist on her own. She’s set out to make changes in her life and has challenged herself do one thing per day in the month of December that scares her … including spending Christmas away from her family! She survives a mini-crisis or two along the way, and then meets the challenge that just might do her in … adorable dog Madi and sexy ER doc Ethan Black!

Ethan has an extremely busy and demanding career, but when his sister needs his help during an emergency, he’s there for her … even if it means he has a dog staying at his house. How can one little animal make his world so insane?? There’s only one solution! He has to convince Harriet the dog walker to become the dog nanny with 24/7 care from the guest room of his home! When he finds himself becoming attached, how will they handle the attraction they feel?
