A former marine must help a Russian spy…

But can he trust her?

Force Recon marine Mack Balkman would do anything for Declan’s Defenders and the boss who gave him a second chance. But aiding a rogue Russian spy pushes his loyalty to the limits. Beautiful, cunning Riley Lansing loves her adopted country—and her baby brother, who is being held for ransom. Can they work together to find the young boy before Riley’s handler learns that she has gone rogue?

Action packed adventure! With the second book in the Declan’s Defenders series, we get Mack’s story. He’s tasked with helping someone he’s not totally sure is on the up and up, but it doesn’t stop him from falling for her quickly. The action starts very quickly and held my attention throughout. Really enjoying this series!

Former Marine Mack Balkman is grateful to have another job with his former teammates now that they are all out of the military. He never expects a night of protecting their benefactor Charlie will lead to him meeting a Russian spy that catches his eye.

Aerospace engineer Riley Lansing just got through with the turmoil of helping the FBI with an investigation of corruption at her workplace and now her little brother has been kidnapped and she’s been ordered to do things she has no interest in doing to get him back. Mack isn’t sure he can trust her, but the temptation is too great not to take the risk.

From shy Cinderella…

To convenient princess!

For sensible Dr. Laurel Martin, heading up a new lab for royal doc Sheikh Tariq Al Marktum is the chance to conduct the study of a lifetime. But to protect Laurel from the scandal her presence in his palace will cause, Tariq has his own condition—a paper marriage! Swept into his desert kingdom, passion overtakes the convenient couple, but can Laurel find her place in Tariq’s world—and his heart?

Attention grabbing from start to finish! Susan Carlisle’s latest is sure to delight a medical romance fan. The characters are intriguing, the setting is authentically cultural and the sexual tension is thick enough to cut with a knife. The ending was a bit abrupt, but overall I really enjoyed their story!

Doctor Laurel Martin has dedicated her medical career to studying a disease that harms many, so when her funding is lost just when she’s on the verge of a break through, she is devastated. She just might have to reconsider the offer she recently turned down to head up a medical lab studying the disease for the Prince of Zentar!

Sheikh Tariq Al Marktum needs his country to have a breakthrough from the disease that many are floundering with, so he’s willing to do just about anything to get the best in the field to come and start up his research lab. When Laurel finally agrees, he announces the one final hitch … in order to uphold her reputation in his home country, she has to agree to a marriage of convenience with him during the duration of her studies.
