He saw her from across a crowded ballpark and knew she was about to change his life.

Yes, he realizes just how cliché that really is, but the moment his eyes locked on her, he knew that she was the one.

At least, the one that royally screwed him over. The one responsible for his demotion and the subsequent disciplinary action taken against him before he’d even gotten out of the probationary period with Kilgore Police Department.

It all started with a kiss.

Saylor Rae Spada tried to mind her business. She also tried to not get involved in petty disputes.

However, from the moment she saw him sitting next to her at a professional baseball game, a game she didn’t even want to be at but was dragged to by her blind date, she couldn’t look away.

Then the kiss cam came on, featuring none other than her and the handsome stranger.

Without missing a beat, he kissed her.

Then her blind date decided to pull a knife and try to stab him.

From that point forward, she’s done nothing but cause him trouble.

Trouble that he’s starting to find increasingly adorable.

SINNERS ARE WINNERS is book five in Lani Lynn Vale’s KPD Motorcycle Patrols series and brings us Lock and Saylor’s story. The characters are fun loving, adorably sweet and the sex appeal is off the charts. There are a few spots that could have been developed more but overall a very satisfying story!

Saylor is an adorable character. She loves her Daddy more than anything, but she needs to prove to herself that she can live her own life and not have to have him picking up the pieces for her. She’s determined to make this life she has built for herself work out.

Lock is loyal to the core, and when he makes a connection with this woman who ends up turning his world upside down, he’s not going to let the possibility of what life with her can be like disappear without a fight.

I highly recommend this series as a whole to anyone enjoying a passionate story with intense characters. They are a group of close friends working towards finding their forever when they each least expect it.

The lessons our children teach us are the hardest ones. What do we do when our children don’t pursue our hopes for them? In this riveting new novel, Danielle Steel explores how families can evolve and grow in unexpected ways.

A senior partner at a prestigious New York law firm, Kate Morgan couldn’t be prouder of her three grown children. Tamara, Anthony, and Claire all went to great schools, chose wonderful career paths, and would have made their father proud. A single mother for years after the death of her husband, Kate keeps a tight rein on her family, her career, and even her own emotions, never once asking herself if she truly knows her children . . . or if her hopes for them are the right ones, and what they want. She is about to find out.

During one hectic summer in Manhattan, Kate’s world turns upside down. One child has been keeping an astonishing secret while another confesses to an equally shocking truth. A wonderful match and picture-book wedding are traded for a relationship that shakes Kate to her core. A totally inappropriate love affair and an out-of-wedlock baby complete the chaos. Challenged as a mother and as a successful independent woman herself, Kate struggles to keep up with a dizzying and escalating chain of events, and begins to realize that she has a part to play in the chaos. Because Kate too has kept secrets from her children.

Sometimes the surprising choices our children make are the right ones . . . better than what we wanted for them. More often than not, parenting is about letting go of our dreams and embracing theirs.

Danielle Steel’s latest release CHILD’S PLAY brings us the story of an accomplished woman who portrays the perfect life and how it all plays out when the perfect things in her life turn out to have crumbling foundations. It shows the emotion a person goes through as things in life don’t go exactly as planned, but also has a very strong foundation of loving no matter what. I really enjoyed it and found it to be pretty fast paced.

Kate Morgan was an easily redeemable character. She kept parts of her life secret from her kids until a time when it seemed it might be a stepping stone to show them she understood how life can sometimes get away from you no matter how much you try to stay on course. She showed great restraint when faced with adversity and showed a beautiful side of a parent’s love supporting their child no matter the decisions and mistakes they made.

Eldest child Tamara came across as a bit distracted and cold to a bystander, but she was supportive of her mother and siblings and once we got to enter the true sanctuary of her world, her true side emerged with a softness that made her shine.

Middle child Anthony seemed like the one with the biggest heart and put in the most effort with the mom he adored. His fall from grace was a bit spectacular and redeeming him took a bit of work.

The spoiled baby of the family Claire quickly turned into a nightmare of an attitude. She was never totally redeemed but she was relaxed a tad towards the end.

Overall, I highly recommend this story to anyone looking for a close-knit single parent story that showcases her devotion to her kids and her support as they live their way into their happily ever afters before she relaxes into her own.

Will Gold Valley’s most reclusive cowboy finally find a reason to heal?

As a former EMT and a wildland firefighter, there’s no one Jacob Dalton can’t rescue—except himself. Since his best friend’s tragic death, Jacob has isolated himself…until Vanessa Logan returns to Gold Valley. He saved her life during a medical call years ago, and he’s never forgotten her. The instant jolt of heat between them takes him by surprise, but he knows that giving in to it would only end in disaster…

For Vanessa, returning home was about healing, not about exploring her attraction with Jacob. He is the guardian angel from her past—with strong, capable hands and an irresistible mouth. A temptation she knows she can’t afford. Until the chemistry between them explodes, and unites them in a way they could never have imagined…

With the seventh book in her Gold Valley series, Maisey Yates takes us on an emotional journey of healing in LONE WOLF COWBOY. We’ve heard a lot about the past of Jacob Dalton and Vanessa Logan as we read their sibling’s stories, but now we get to the heart of what each of them have been going through over the years.

Logan can’t find his way through the guilt and pain of feeling responsible for a friend’s death. He’s just going through the motions of life and wishing he was anywhere else other than surrounded by family, friends and memories.

Vanessa finally feels strong enough to return home to Gold Valley to try to heal the rift in her family and prove to herself she can cope with anything.

I highly recommend this story to anyone who enjoys seeing a character work their way through their emotions and pain and come out better on the other side. This series is very interwoven, so even though it can be read as a stand alone, you will get way more out of it if you read the series in order and know the back story of each character well before diving into their own book. I always close the current book anxious for the next in the series to come along!

A megacorporation starts killing patients…

And two exes must reunite to save lives!

When he discovers his patients’ lives are threatened, Dr. Paul Reilly can turn to only one person: Simone Black. She will have his back, even if they don’t agree on much else. But as the former lovers work together to track down the evildoers who are tampering with medications, they rediscover unexpected feelings for one another…even as an enemy wants to silence them permanently.

Exhilarating read! REUNITED BY THE BADGE is book three in Deborah Fletcher Mello’s To Serve and Seduce series and the return trip into the Black family’s world did not disappoint! The intrigue rose quickly and carried throughout the book, and even once the main protagonist was dealt with, we got a tidbit of a new mystery that’s going to carry forward into the series going forward that sounds really exciting. Can’t wait for a return trip!

Simone is a character that does not disappoint. Throughout the series she’s been strong-willed and steadfast in her devotion to her family and her ability to live life the way she wants to.

Paul is a character that grabs our attention quickly as the mystery he’s trying to solve heats up and more lives are in danger than ever. He brings a certain softness out in Simone that she doesn’t show for anyone else.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to read a fast paced story filled with non-stop action, close-knit family connections and a reuniting of former lovers. You can’t go wrong with any book in the series!
