“Why aren’t you pushing me away?”

“Because you kiss like a dream.”

Ever since the accident that took his leg, oil tycoon Clint Rockwell doesn’t do relationships—he likes being alone. And he doesn’t need anyone’s pity. Then fast-talking reality star Fee Martinez sweeps into Royal, Texas, on to his ranch…and into his bed. It’s only for a night, and then two. Wanting more is impossible, but this goodbye might be the hardest thing he’s ever done…

A delightful unexpected romance! Joss Wood brings us the delectable second book in the new Texas Cattleman’s Club: Inheritance series and continues unraveling secrets surrounding Blackwood Hollow Ranch. I absolutely loved this book, but it did feel like the choice of these two characters as the second book instead of one of the Blackwood siblings pushed the mystery to the back burner somewhat. I’m looking forward to continuing the series soon!

Rancher Clint Rockwell is a really solid guy and was a joy to get to know. He lost his leg in the Army and while he has prospered greatly in his physical healing, circumstances after he returned home led him to close off emotionally. Meeting Fee seems to be just the healing balm he has been needing.

Seraphina Martinez is tired of the reality show glitz that she’s been surrounding herself with and feels really alive for the first time in a long time when she meets and trades wit with Clint.

I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting a bit of scandal, a bit of glitz and a whole lot of heart in their romance.

Recovering from a pulled groin muscle isn’t exactly how I planned to spend my much-needed summer vacation. But being nursed back to health by my gorgeous friend Bailey, who’s just graduated from medical school, doesn’t exactly sound like a hardship.

We spend a week together at my family’s beach house, a week of swimming and barbecues, a week of entertaining my little cousins and sleeping right across the hall from each other. A week of watching Bailey grow closer with my mom and sisters, and my wacky but lovable grandma. A week of enjoying Bailey tending to me—which is saying something, because it involves a lot of shoving ice packs into my underwear and taping up sore muscles.

She’s funny and kind, and after just being myself for the first time in a long time, I find my walls come tumbling down. But when Bailey says she’s not looking for a relationship, I’m bound and determined to be more than just the fun hookup who sprained his groin a second time—this time with her.

Fast paced, steamy and simply adorable! With book four in her Hot Jocks series, Kendall Ryan delights her readers with yet another of her sexy jocks in CROSSING THE LINE.

Asher is a fun-loving joy of a character to read. He’s sweet with just the right amount of cockiness to keep a grin on your face at his antics.

Bailey is a little harder to read. She likes him even before she agrees to be his medical presence on his trip home, but she also knows she needs to buckle down as she becomes a doctor. Good times help make her decision!

I missed the heavier hockey spin since he was out injured in this book, but it was still a fun read and I enjoyed it a lot. Looking forward to more to come in the series!

They both have something to hide,

but their chemistry can’t be contained…

Media mogul Devon Salazar wants Regina Flores, but his desire is tempered by suspicion. With sibling rivalry and his father’s secrets threatening the family empire, Devon can’t afford to trust Mesa Falls Ranch’s nosy new hire. This won’t stop him from seducing her. He looks forward to seeing Miss Flores exposed… Until the tables turn and Regina reveals their surprising connection…

Fast paced, attention grabbing and embroiled in scandal! With the second book in her Dynasties: Mesa Falls series, Joanne Rock continues to expose secrets as we get the second Salazar son’s story in THE RIVAL.

Devon came across as easier to like than I was maybe expecting after reading about him from Marcus’s point of view in book one of the series. He was authentic and took it well when faced with the fact that Regina was wrapped up in lies.

Regina was a bit of an enigma. You can understand once you hear her story why she’s intrigued with finding answers, but she never really tells us what type of revenge she was planning, so that plot of hers was left a bit up in arms.

I really enjoyed Devon’s story and getting to touch base with Marcus and Lily from the first book. I recommend this book and this series in general to anyone who likes a power-driven story of lies and intrigue that revolve somewhat around a scandal in Hollywood. Looking forward to more to come!

From profiling criminals

to being hunted by a killer.

Asking FBI agent Lucy Sanderson to profile the Back Roads Killer is the only way Bryce Tippett can prove his brother is innocent—unless Lucy becomes the next victim. When someone begins stalking her just as she arrives in town, it falls to the single dad to protect her. But as clues lead in unexpected directions, can they uncover the truth…and survive to expose it?

Powerful intrigue from start to finish! With the fourth book in her Covert Operatives series, Virginia Vaughan continues to delight with KILLER INSIGHT.

Lucy Sanderson has our allegiance from the first page when by simply arriving in town she suddenly becomes the next victim of the guy she’s there to profile! She is a FBI profiler on leave and doing a favor for a friend of her late fiancee when she walks smack dab in the middle of the case.

Bryce Tippitt is an easy character to like. He’s an attentive and caring single father intent on helping clear his brother’s name in the serial killer case he’s being accused in.

I highly recommend this story to anyone enjoying an inspirational romance filled with nail biting intrigue and lots of heart. The characters were well developed, the plot was thick and the story flowed easily. Really enjoying this entire series!
