Retired hockey star Remington Knight is back on top... and he intends to stay that way.

After having everything, losing it all and then getting it back, his only focus is preparing for the inaugural season of his new professional hockey team. Taking a detour to the quaint little town of Garland Grove, British Columbia where Remy just inherited an ice arena he didn’t even know his father owned, is a distraction he can’t afford right now. The plan is simple... get in, hire a realtor, and get the hell out before Christmas.

Bad luck follows Noelle Burrier around like a lost puppy. She’s barely getting by, living in her car and working a dead-end job at the concession stand of the local hockey rink. When the arena’s hotshot new owner comes in ready to sell, she finds herself on thin ice, desperate to make him see more than dollar signs.

The more time they spend together, the harder it is to keep their distance and deny the fire building between them. With Remy just passing through, and Noelle stuck where she is, will they find the magic of Christmas together or will her knight in shining armor skate off into the sunset, leaving her alone in the cold?

Kat Mizera knocked it out of the park with this one! I couldn’t have loved Remy and Noelle more and cannot wait to see more of them in the new Lauderdale Knights series! In KNIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS, Mizera brings us book four in the sweet and sassy Romancing the Rink series revolving around good times at an ice rink in Garland Grove that seems to make magical connections no one was expecting.

Remington is a sweetheart and I enjoyed getting to know him and his plans outside of the career he lost in pro hockey. Only one little detail is derailing him from settling into his upcoming life in Ft. Lauderdale … a quaint ice rink he’s now inherited that no one even knew his father owned.

Noelle is the easiest character in the world to love. She’s temporarily homeless, but her heart still finds every single thing she can do to make someone else’s life more fulfilled and does it instead of worrying about herself.

I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone who enjoys a small town romance full of heart, humor and happily ever afters.

The darkness closed around her. She tried to clear her vision, but there was no light, no noise, nothing. Only the emptiness, the echoing sound of being alone. Fear pulsed through her. The man had come out of nowhere. Who was he? Blinking away tears of frustration, in the pitch black she felt the floor and walls surrounding her. Cold. Steel. Bars.

Detective Ellie Reeves is hiking in the Appalachian Mountains when she discovers a body. As dusk falls, a gust of wind blows some petals on to Ellie’s path. Following the trail, she finds a golden-haired young woman dead on a bed of daffodils, with a note: Monday’s child is fair of face.

Thanks to her own past, the childhood she tries her hardest to forget, Ellie knows that the wilderness––and its shadows––is the perfect hunting ground for a criminal. She’s certain that the sinister nursery rhyme, written with an old-fashioned typewriter, means something.

It soon becomes clear when another body is found. Under the light of the moon, Ellie spots wildflower petals floating in a river. On the bank lies Tuesday’s child, another young woman who lost her life, far too soon, at the hands of a monster.

Ellie is up against a serial killer who will claim a victim for every day of the week. In the next twenty-four hours there will be another death, and when her own house is broken into, daffodil petals strewn across the floor, it’s clear the ruthless murderer has Ellie in his sights. Can she save more innocent women from his clutches? Or will he get to her first?

A heart pounding race against time! WILDFLOWER GRAVES is the second book in Rita Herron’s Detective Ellie Reeves series and we quickly reconnect with Ellie shortly after the end of the first book while she’s trying to make sense of the secrets that were uncovered and the blows that the town suffered. I was quickly hooked into this new serial killer mystery as Ellie stumbles across a body placed on wildflowers and the hunt for evil begins all over again. The characters are intriguing, the mystery is intense and the emotional connection between characters is powerful. I enjoyed it from start to finish and look forward to more from Ellie!

I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone who enjoys an addictive serial killer mystery with a strong female heroine who keeps finding herself in the middle of the drama.

The secrets haunting Beau Rochester come alive.

Jane Mendoza is determined to protect the people she loves from every threat--the mysterious arsonist, the corrupt police force. The darkest danger comes from a place she never expects.

She risks more than her newfound family. She risks her life.

Angsty goodness! With the gripping conclusion to her Rochester Trilogy Skye Warren brings us shocking revelations, sweet reconnections and a tantalizing love story all rolled into one gripping conclusion. It’s short and fast paced and honestly I wanted more, but I enjoyed the way things all worked out in the end with a couple of exceptions of wanting more development here and there.

I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes an alpha male, a much younger woman and down and dirty sex while so many sweet moments happen along the way as well. Danger and suspense are a big part of this trilogy.
