Kaye certainly knows how to meld an ordinary man into a scorchingly sexy hero! If you’ve been following along with this series, you will recognize Jonathan & Cruz from small appearances in previous books. They are sexy hot dominates who are 2 of the 12 Masters that opened up Baltimore’s hottest BDSM club Blasphemy. They are best friends and like to share their women. This is the first book in the series to kind of let us get to know the characters outside of the club predominantly, and it was fun! We got a delicious feel for them as the people they are outside of the dominate world before we saw the gently controlling side of them. The plot brought a couple of family issues to light that definitely could have been developed more to make it a more rounded story, and these two guys are not nearly as demanding as some of the other Doms we’ve encountered in the series, but they were fun and sweet and tender … and you have to love them! Overall a great read!

Hartley Farren is in a panic when her catamaran is damaged due to a storm. That boat is her livelihood, and if she’s going to make the commitments she has promised, she needs to get it fixed ASAP! When luck puts her in the tracks of Jonathan Allen, she finds out he’s a boat restorer with his partner Cruz Ramos and sweet talks him into taking a look at the work she needs done.

Jonathan is an easy going fun loving type of guy who enjoys bantering with a pretty lady, so he can’t resist giving Hartley a hand when he can see how worried she is about her boat. He convinces Cruz that they should help her .. and doesn’t deny that he’s majorly attracted to her!

Cruz is the more serious of the two and worries about their own deadlines when Jay brings Hartley and her boat problems to his attention, but he can tell how much Jonathan wants to help her, and he finds it hard to resist him anything … so here they are … working all hours of the day and night on her boat with her by their side helping as much as possible. When she finds out they are dominates and like to share their women, she’s highly curious … and just might talk herself into going for what she wants … both of them!

Mathias walked barefoot across his patio. It was still early and a light mist clung to the ground—no doubt the result of early morning watering, but he preferred a more romantic explanation. It was the artist in him.

He took his favorite chair, set his coffee and sketch pad on the table beside him, then prepared to wait.

He wasn’t sure how long ago the ritual had started. Shortly after Millie had arrived, maybe. He didn’t know why she got to him more than the others. She was just a giraffe. Shouldn’t he find beauty in the swift-footed gazelles or majesty in the water buffalo?

While he’d been aware of the animals when he’d purchased the house, he hadn’t really noticed them for the first few months. He supposed they’d crept into his consciousness after he’d met Carol.

Most towns hid their dumps behind gates or far away from any suburban sprawl. Happily Inc had planned differently, putting it just southwest of the population center, carefully downwind.

In addition to running a recycling and reclamation program that was one of the best in the nation, the two men who owned and ran the dump had also purchased hundreds of acres around the landfill. Grasses and trees had been brought in. Once they’d taken root, the animals had appeared. The gazelles had been first, then the zebras. There were a few wading birds, the water buffalo and lastly, Millie.

Mathias knew the basics—the two men who had created a unique African savanna on the edge of the California desert were Carol’s father and uncle. When she’d completed her degree, she’d come to work at the preserve. A year ago, the old man in charge of the animals had retired, leaving Carol to take over. A few months after that, Millie had arrived.

Mathias didn’t know why the giraffe and the woman were so closely linked in his mind, but they were. Now, as he watched the morning fog slowly dissipate, he saw Millie stroll into view.

She was a reticulated or Somali giraffe, nearly fifteen feet tall, with traditional markings. Her face was almost heart shaped, with widely spaced eyes and an inquisitive gaze.

Mathias sipped his coffee before reaching for his sketch pad. He already had hundreds of drawings of Millie and Carol, but he hadn’t yet found the one. He would know it when he saw it, so every morning he waited.

Carol appeared when they cleared the trees. She barely came to partway up Millie’s shoulder. In the morning light, her short red hair seemed almost blond. She was strong and wholly herself—a contrast to his usual type of woman, so he shouldn’t have found her appealing…only he did. There was something about her lack of artifice, something about the way she was so comfortable in her own skin that made him pay attention.

This series is always a great read … I liked them as a cute couple, but I didn’t connect with them quite as much as previous books because they sort of kept themselves closed off even from each other in what they were thinking and feeling. Hoping there are more books coming in this series!

Asher Westmore lives and breathes hockey. He’s on the verge of hitting a major career milestone with his New Jersey Devils team, and he’s not going to let the aching knee that he’s been ignoring for a year now get in his way. When his big brother and opponent brings a hard hit during the next to last game prior, it takes him out of the game and to the hospital … with months of recovery on the table.

His best friend (with benefits!) Emma Callaway just so happens to live in his hometown and be a physical therapist, so he’s looking forward to having her get him back on his skates quicker than the doctors are advising. I adored Ryder from the start. He’s a fun-loving guy, but has such a kind heart. Juliet on the other-hand, I would have liked to have smacked a few times. 🙂 I enjoyed them together, but I wanted her to appreciate what was in front of her eyes more. Loved the book!!

Under-ground bounty hunter Alyssa Jimenez was lucky to escape as unruffled as she did from her family of criminals. She’s none too pleased to have even the thought of the cartel stirred up again when Bennet comes calling, but once she realizes he can help her get justice for her mother’s murder, she decides it might be worth her while to attempt to work with him. When danger comes knocking and her only safe haven is smack dab in the middle of Bennet’s elitist family, she’s not so sure how she’s going to handle this!

He was a sweetheart … and he really hung in there trying to secretly love her through getting over her hang-ups in life. Really enjoyed their story and will look forward to more in the series!

A classic who-done-it! With multiple people acting suspiciously, we’re on the hunt for the true culprit from beginning to end. There’s not a huge amount of romance to the story, but the characters are really easy to connect with, and I enjoyed them both from the start. With a lot of subterfuge, it’s a fun read as we go back and forth trying to figure out who is looking more guilty than the next!

Security expert Jack King left his hometown of Pine Lake, Texas behind 15 years ago, but the trauma and loss he experienced before he left continues to haunt him to this day. His high school girlfriend was murdered … a beautiful, fun-loving spirit who deserved a warm and fulfilling life … and the whole town thought he did it!

Recent events have brought Jack back to town to figure out what’s really going on in Pine Lake. He’s received calls from his so-called former best friends, both shining light on the other’s actions and possible deception. Just after arriving, he runs across Olive Belmont in a very dangerous situation. He puts himself out there to help her, and as new things come to light it appears her sleepwalking habit might have had her subconsciously witnessing two murders!
