Vanished into thin air! Intrigue abounds from the start as we are brought into the fold quickly to realize the heroine is pretending to be something she’s not in order to find info on what happened to her sister. She’s taking daring chances and it comes back to bite her early in the book. If you’ve read any of this series previously, you will recognize the cult they are investigating as well as some of the other task force cops. The story was exciting and the characters easy to connect with. Looking forward to the next book in the series!

When Michelle Munson joins Daniel Metwater’s cult of happy followers, she has a goal in her sights. She plans to find proof that he and/or his brother murdered her sister and somehow made it look like an accident. She knows she’s gotten too close when Daniel catches her doing some sleuthing and shortly after her infant son comes up missing!

Task force member, Ethan Reynolds and his team have had their eyes on Metwater’s goings-ons for awhile and are eager to have an inside source to things that might be going on in that camp. When Michelle comes to him for help after her son is taken, they tentatively agree to help each other. Close quarters lead to strong attraction … but she doesn’t trust cops, so can he actually convince her that he’s an okay guy?

A shocking reunion leads to the fight of their life! A presumed dead resurrection is always a drama-filled subject that we don’t get to read all that often, so the turmoil it brought forth in this latest book in the Business of Weddings series really packed a punch. Mitch was really easy to sympathize with and I found myself pulling for him. Zoe on the other hand was really hard to like. I could sympathize with the picture she portrayed of their marriage prior to his “death”, but she was just too cold for my liking. Sometimes that type of heroine makes you strive for that happily ever after even more though because if he can still want her when she’s so distant, you know their prior love that he’s hoping to get back had to be a beautiful thing. Overall, an emotional read with relatable characters and a strong storyline!

Mayor Zoe Simmons has only recently started to move forward in her life after losing her husband a couple of years ago. They were high school sweethearts who wed young and thought they’d be together forever, but even before he went missing on an assignment and was presumed dead, their marriage was on the verge of being over. She was left with more of him than she would have ever believed possible, and that gave her the will to keep on existing even through her darkest grief.

Photojournalist Mitch Simmons knows his return from the dead is going to be a shock to his wife, so he arranges for his best friend to ease the transition when he faces her for the first time. He still has a lot of recovery to go through and isn’t anywhere near the man she was in the midst of walking away from before his accident happened. He hopes that maybe the thrill of him actually being alive will convince her to give their love another shot … and that’s even before he hears that they have a son he never even knew was on the way!

The characters were both very easy to like, we were drawn into their sexual tension from the start and the surprises we uncovered along the way made for an intriguingly sweet read!

Mechanic Lou Cortez enjoys life. He has a huge close-knit family that he adores, he not only has the job here at the shop with the boys, but he also gets to enjoy putting his creative side to work in his side job. When a beautiful woman walked into the shop a few months ago, he was intrigued … but she wouldn’t even look at him. What’s up with that? Women always love him!

Florist Josephine Reeves obviously noticed Lou, but she has better things to do in life than fall at the feet of a man who goes through women like water. He doesn’t give up though, and when happenstance brings him into the flower shop while she’s working, she finds herself giving in and actually agreeing to coffee. She can’t deny that he’s attractive, and he turns her knees weak with just one steamy look … but she has a lot counting on her with a whole other side of her life that he knows nothing about. Forbidden love has never tasted so sweet! A quick and easy read filled with sexual tension and an air of bittersweet conflict. Will she or won’t she? The characters are fun to read and easy to like … the plot is cliche, but works really well to take us on a fun ride towards their happily ever after!

Zach Austin didn’t expect the mystery woman at a party who turned him on with her kiss and mesmerized him with her beauty to turn up in his office on campus the next day! This could be trouble … but what a way to go!

The backstory is built up nicely for Beck and the characters we meet are fun and sassy. The heat between Beck and AG is sexy with a side of sweet. I really enjoyed the first in the series and look forward to more!

Country music sweetheart Ava Grace Landry is happily basking in her dream come true career when all of a sudden a shake-up at her record label leaves her with an obnoxious jerk of a boss who’s threatening to dump her contract if she doesn’t increase her male audience demographic! She needs help … and fast!

Jonah Beck is only slightly hesitant at the idea of bringing Ava Grace on as the spokesperson for his Trinity bourbon. Her appeal with definitely draw in the male buyer, but the instantaneous attraction he feels to her might be a problem! They know their lifestyles don’t exactly mix, but that doesn’t stop the sparks that fly every time they are in the same proximity. They try to keep their relationship private, but the press are always near … when secrets are exposed and scandal ensues, will what they’re feeling for each other be worth risking everything for?

Fast paced, endearing and spicy! I really enjoyed the next story in the Bodyguard Bad Boys series by Carly Phillips. The characters are super easy to connect with, the plot is intriguing and the chemistry is explosive. There were a few places that could have been built on more, but the characters draw you in to such a degree that you are willing to forgive the quickness of the story. Overall, a great read!

Single dad Austin Rhodes would do anything for his young daughter. Have a live-in nanny, finagle his work schedule around his time with her, be there for all of her important moments, anything to keep her happy. When something threatens that happiness, he won’t hesitate to strike out!

Mia Atwood has been the nanny for a few months now and adores his daughter. The atmosphere of the house is an ideal place to work … well … except for the little niggling thing around the edge of the surface … lust! She can’t stop eyeing up his luscious body every chance she gets behind his back, but they are definitely keeping it strictly professional … well … until the past comes back to haunt them and he needs to step up and protect her … then the close quarters might make that professional thing a little tricky!

“So what’s your end game?”

He knew better, he really did but he was tired of denying himself what he wanted and his body was definitely on board. He waited for a sign she wasn’t right there with him. If she pulled back or jerked away, he’d apologize and they’d move forward from there. Instead she swayed toward him, sealing her fate.

He grasped her waist, anchoring himself by touching her, the soft sweater doing little to hide her slender body or delicate curves. He tipped his head, sliding his tongue across her lips and with a soft moan, she parted her mouth and let him inside. She tasted of vanilla and coffee, a sweet flavor that was all Mia.

Their tongues touched, tangled, and his body came alive with a hunger he hadn’t known before.

She raised her arms, hands coming to his biceps, holding on for a brief second before she gave in and wrapped her arms around him, pulling him close, giving him all the excuse he needed to deepen the kiss. He tilted his head and consumed her, swirling his tongue around the further recesses of her mouth.

He had no wall, no car door to push her against, which was a good thing because he wouldn’t have been able to control himself if he crushed his body against hers.
