Excerpt:
She walked over and tugged on Puzzles and Games, a newer book wedged tightly between the thick,
dusty jackets of
The Secret History of
Yellowstone Country
, and Ranching
Ain’t What It Used To Be.
And the entire book case leaned toward her.
Catching the frame of the shelves with her
hands, she spun around, and used her body weight to shove the burdensome book
beast back into position. But every time she stepped away, the case threatened
to fall. Somehow the bottom had become unbalanced. She glanced at the clerk
behind the counter and opened her mouth to call for help. Then Ryan Tanner
walked toward her and she involuntarily jumped in place.
They’d grown up together, riding the same
school bus and sharing the same classes day after day right up through the
twelfth grade. But after high school she’d relocated to New York to attend
college. Then she put her business degree and love of fashion together to
snatch the assistant managerial position at the Manhattan branch of Silvain’s,
a national fashion retail conglomerate which specialized in hip clothing and
accessories. Over the years she’d run into Ryan only briefly during her
occasional visits home.
And she had no desire to see him now.
Ryan was the kind of guy a girl dreamed
about but could never have. At least not exclusively. He was a charmer who took
the opportunity to flirt with every female he met. And he’d tried to charm her the night of their high school
senior prom, the night her horse died, in an attempt to delay her from getting
home too soon…and saying goodbye.
Of course, they were adults now, both
almost twenty-seven, she with her glowing resume and he with a seven-year-old
son. She thought she’d forgiven him and let bygones be bygones.
     She was wrong.

BOOK REVIEW – Killer Season – Lara Lacombe

Killer Season

Loved these characters!  He’s a nice guy looking to take care of her when she’s scared and upset.  She’s a goodhearted person, alone in the world and comforted by his arms.  Fast paced, full of action and suspense.  A really good read!

Fiona Sanders has been working nights as a convenience store clerk for a few years now.  She likes interacting with people that she can interview for her Sociology project in college.  And the recent added bonus of “Hot Guy” dropping in regularly is definitely a plus!

BOOK REVIEW – A Moment of Weakness – Brooklyn Skye

A Moment of Weakness

4 STARS!

This isn’t a super complex book/plot to read.  It’s straightforward, sexy hot and fun!  Micah is a big tough badass, but I adored him from the start.  There was just something about the tough demeanor one second, then soft as a marshmallow as soon his daughter walked through the door that really stole my heart.

Laurel Harris was an up and coming brand new elementary school teacher, but needed a job over the summer to pay her rent.  She was applying everywhere, but no one was looking for such a short term hire.  Her best friend April piped in saying her older brother Micah needed a nanny for his little girl, Shaelynn.

Micah Crane thinks April is sending a friend to interview for a job at The Alibi, the bar he co-owns with his best friend Ryan. When Laurel shows up saying she’s there for a nanny position, he’s really pissed off.  He doesn’t leave his daughter with strangers and doesn’t need any help raising her!  Once Laurel points out how dangerous it is to have her sitting in the back room of the bar for hours on end while he works, he relents and agrees to give it a try.

Shaelynn is adorable and Laurel loves her on the spot, but Micah is mean and downright rude, but when he lets his guard down and shows his tender heart, Laurel can’t help but fall for him.  He’s hot!  Will they act on the mutual attraction that is swirling around them every time they are in the same room together?  When Laurel finds out that he works part time as a glorified repo-man for a notorious crime boss, will she stick around even though she could be in danger?

BOOK REVIEW – Tempting the New Boss – Angela Claire

Tempting the New Boss

4 STARS!

The time span of this book is small, as most of it revolves around a couple of days time, but it’s exciting!  Lots of steamy sex, and moments to pull at your heartstrings.  Socially awkward as he is, I really enjoyed Mason!

Camilla Anderson has just lost her job when she hears about one opening up to be the in-house lawyer for Talbot Inc. Even though she’s warned off by the previous lawyer that is quitting, she takes the position anyway because the pay will allow her to pay off her student debt quickly.

Mason Talbot is the quirky, reclusive CEO of Talbot Inc.  He’s achieved a lot to be as young as he is, but he doesn’t enjoy interacting with people much.  He has a strong attraction to Camilla when they are traveling to London for meetings, and decides to act on it and put his cards out on the table to her … very awkwardly!  She doesn’t know whether to spend her time yelling at him or kissing him, because she’s attracted to him too, but his lack of a filter in what he says infuriates her.

When their plane runs into the path of a strong storm, they are suddenly in for a rough ride.  Mason is a calm rock of strength and comforts Camilla as things are thrown from one side to the other throughout the cabin.  Will they make it through this storm or will they be crash landing?

Antonio has no idea who he is.  He was found in the water in Indonesia by a fisherman and taken to a village to recuperate. A knock in the head has given him back a snippet of memory.  He remembered his house in Malibu, so he struggled to find his way there to see if someone could tell him who he was.

Once Caitlyn is convinced that it’s really Antionio, she starts to try to fill him in as much as she can on his previous life and integrate him back into his busy lifestyle as a billionaire MMA fighter, turned venue owner.
