Tawny just never disappoints … Sizzling HOT like always!

I really enjoyed meeting Lark and Shane. She’s a kind-hearted person who has given up her big city California dreams to step in to run her Mom’s dream coffee shop in small town Idaho. And he’s just a quiet, shy, all around nice guy who lives to be a Navy SEAL.

They are introduced via a plot by his sister, and sparks explode the second they set eyes on each other. They’re both convinced they are having a hot fling just while he’s in town, but will they be able to walk away? Read the book to find out the ups and downs of devotion to family, the heartache and guilt over loss, and the utter joy that the simple things can bring.

I couldn’t put it down!

REVIEW: A Rancher of Her Own

A lovely, family-oriented read!

Jane Garland returns home to her Grandfather’s ranch for a family wedding. While there, her Grandpa schemes to matchmake another wedding in the family by pushing her, and ranch Manager, Pete Brannigan together. Sparks definitely fly, but Pete is reluctant to have much to do with her because he believes she is as career obsessed as his ex-wife was. Over the weeks, he finds it hard to resist falling for her, right along with his kids, Rachel and Eric.

Read this heartwarming book about an extended family to find out what happens along the way, and if Pete and Jane can manage to overcome their differences to start a life together.

Quiet day

I believe it is going to shape up to be a fairly quiet day on the Homefront today. Dave is in an all day seminar, Lucy is outside on the deck basking in the heat that she loves, and Missy is here hanging out with me as I type:

She’s a cutie huh? She likes to be with one of her humans as much as she can, often following from room to room.

It’s quite hot here in Maryland these days. Mostly the humidity is what is making it uncomfortable. Right now it’s 81 at 11AM, but the humidity makes it feel 97 according to Accuweather. Yikes!

I just received Tawny Weber’s newest book last night to review, so I’m running off to bury myself in reading for awhile. Hope you have a great day!

REVIEW: Under Fire

Exciting read!

The book grabs your attention from the very first page and doesn’t let go until the end. It starts out with a shoot out in Ava’s lab where she is the only employee left standing, then the gunman turns the gun on her. At the last minute she’s rescued by Max, who vows to keep her safe.

The book follows them on the run as they race to find a cure for Max’s brainwashing while at the same time, running for their lives from a covert ops agency who is trying to re-control Max.

Read to find out if they make it through, and to see where their desire for one another leads. Highly recommended read!

REVIEW: Country

Loved this book! It shows you can find love again after death, and even after being unhappy for years as well. I always love Danielle’s books, but this is one of my favs!

Stephanie hasn’t been happy with her husband for a few years. She was unable to forgive his betrayal when she learned he was having an affair. But having him die during a ski trip away with friends throws her for a loop. She hadn’t been in love with him anymore, but she had been once … And habit is hard to break.

Then she meets Chase. Just a stranger she strikes up a conversation with on a hiking trail when she’s basking in her grief, but soon a true friend who she can talk to so easily. Soon, sparks fly and she’s off on a romance with this country music superstar. Can she get over her grief and find happiness again so quickly? Will her kids ever be okay with her moving on from their father, who they all of a sudden remember as a saint when he was anything but? REVIEW: Last of the Red Hot Riders

My first trip to Hell, TX …

And I really liked it! 🙂

I hadn’t read the previous book, so I wasn’t familiar with the characters at all. At first getting them all down pat was slow, and I found myself going back and starting the book all over once I hit Chapter 3, because it still felt cloudy to me. Once I re-read through Chapters 1 & 2 and got a good handle on who was who, I really enjoyed the book. Cameron & Saint were great characters and I was right there rooting for them the whole time. Look forward to visiting Hell, TX again! 😉

REVIEW: Wild Heat

Caitlin (Kitty) Grant flees California to move back home to small town Alaska life. She’s a broken bird, escaping an abusive ex-husband, and just trying to find herself again. Her long lost best friend Tack picks up the pieces and shows her how to live again as their friendship redevelops and blossoms into more. The cultural and town history was a little heavy for me in the first part of the book, but once Kitty and Tack are settling in as friends again, their story comes to the forefront and has you lost in following their every move to see what will happen. A nice read!

REVIEW: The Princess and the Player

The continuation of the Montoro’s Dynasty did NOT disappoint!

In preparation of her brother Gabriel taking the throne as King of Alma, Bella Montoro leaves her party girl lifestyle in Miami behind to show family support in Alma. To her dismay, her father has an arranged marriage in mind for her with Will Rowling. She grudgingly agrees to meet him, but first runs smack into his twin brother James. The sexy soccer/football player flirts shamelessly and intrigues Bella.

Does Bella stay true to the family and marry boring Will to further the royal business relationships, or will she throw responsibility to the wind and choose the brother that sets her on fire with just a look? Watch as Bella learns to grow up and fall in love and make her way through the twists and turns that life decides to throw at her.

Very enjoyable read. I read it from cover to cover without putting it down!
