Stranded in the snow—together!

Heiress Serena Winston has gone off the grid for the holidays! She’s staying in a remote cabin in the Alps, looking to get away from it all…

Since losing his wife, Christmas isn’t the same for TV presenter Jackson Bennett. He goes where the work takes him, this time to Austria. But when an American beauty runs him off the road in a blizzard and a storm leaves them stranded, it seems like a disaster. Until their time alone turns into an unexpected Christmas to remember!

EXCERPT:

The kiss meant nothing.

Nothing at all.

That was what Serena had been telling herself ever since last night when she’d fallen into Jackson’s more-than-capable arms. What had she been thinking to kiss the enemy?

Who was she kidding? Jackson wasn’t the enemy, even if he was part of the news media. Maybe at first she hadn’t trusted him—with her background, who could blame her? But during the time they’d spent together, she’d learned that there was so much more to him than his dashing looks and his day job.

He was a man who’d loved and lost. He was kind and generous. He went out of his way for others, even when he’d rather be doing anything else. And he had a sense of humor. The memory of his deep laugh still sent goose bumps down her arms. That was a sound she could listen to for the rest of her life—

Whoa! Slow down.

She knew that this moment of playing house would end soon—just as soon as the avalanche was cleared and they were able to plow the roads. Then they would return to reality, but for now, they lived within their own little world with their own rules and she intended to enjoy it as long as it lasted.

And if that should include some more kisses?

Well, she wouldn’t complain. An impish smile pulled at her lips.

She’d been kissed by a lot of leading men, but none of them could come close to Jackson. That man was made for kissing. Just the memory of his lips pressed to hers had her sighing. It hadn’t lasted long enough, not even close.

Keep a song in your heart this holiday season…

Music teacher Ella Baker’s plate is already full. But when single dad Beckett McKinley’s wild twin boys need help preparing a Christmas song for their father, Ella agrees on one condition: they teach her to ride a horse. She’s hoping that’ll help mend her strained relationship with her rancher father; it certainly has nothing to do with the crush that’s lingered since her one and only date with Beck.

It isn’t disinterest spurring Beck to keep his distance—if anything, the spark is too strong, with Ella reminding him of his ex-wife. Soon what started as an innocent arrangement is beginning to feel a lot like family. But with the holidays approaching, Beck and Ella will have to overcome past hurts if they want to keep each other warm this Christmas…

With that special voice that we adore, RaeAnne Thayne never fails to wrap a cowboy around our heart and reel us in! She writes endearing characters who have overcome loss and tragedy to go on to thrive and find love. This story brings us a single dad with a set of rowdy twin sons that could try the patience of a saint … but their teacher happens to adore them … and their daddy!

Ella Baker has been back in Pine Gulch for over a year now, and is still trying her best to mend her strained relationship with her ailing father. She wishes he could see her as more than just the city upbringing she had with her mother. She’s enjoying her job teaching music to the kids of the town, but she wants so much more.

Neighboring rancher Beckett McKinley can’t deny he likes seeing Ella around town and working with his son’s for the upcoming Christmas pageant, but she reminds him a little too much of his former wife who hated ranch living and wanted the excitement from the city life she was used to. When his boys agree to teach her to ride a horse in exchange for her helping them prepare a song surprise for him for Christmas, he finds himself enjoying her company around his ranch more than he should!

WHEN YOU PLAY FOR LOVE, YOU PLAY FOR KEEPS

Stella Davenport wasn't made for small-town life. Sure, teaching ballet in Blanco Valley, Colorado, is great, but she longs for the chance to perform in a big city. Stella swore she'd never let anything get in the way of her dream-until sexy, broad-shouldered Brandon West walks back into her life. Stella is determined to resist him, even if arguing with Brandon is sexier than any foreplay.

For Brandon, it's always been just him and his son, Matt. Knowing that love only leads to heartbreak, he isn't looking to expand his family any time soon. Stella, with her long, gorgeous legs and infectious laugh, is a breath of fresh air he didn't even know he'd been missing. But when she's offered her dream job in Chicago, will he be willing to put his heart on the line?

Chemistry abounds between two unlikely people! A sassy connection between a single dad and the local ballet teacher makes for a really fun read! They bounce witty comebacks off each other every chance they get, and when they finally decide to give in to the attraction they feel, sparks ignite! The characters are easy to like, and although the romance is slow to happen, it’s a nice build up throughout. I enjoyed their story!

Stella Davenport never expected to find herself teaching ballet in a small town in Colorado at this point in her life. She craves the big city dancing lifestyle she used to have in Chicago and hopes her dream of being invited back to choreograph will one day come true. Living here with her Mom crowding her space is slowly driving her insane!

Brandon West feels like he’s spent his entire life looking out for his son, and he’s not about to start now just because he’s soon heading off to college. His one chance on love came back to bite him good, so he isn’t too up on trying that game again … but he can’t deny he’s drawn to Stella in a way he hasn’t felt in a long time … maybe ever! Can two wounded hearts find a way to overcome their obstacles to be together?

To choose between justice and love

There's a burglar on the loose in the beach town of Wallis Point, and undercover detective Lyndsay Fairfax is pursuing every lead. Even the one that takes her straight to the brother of handsome marine veteran John Reilly. John, whose lively restaurant is the heart of the town, is the first person Lyndsay has connected with since her husband's death. But she can't tell him who she really is, and she can't let his brother slide if he's the culprit. Lyndsay has to figure out how to do the right thing without also losing the man who is so right for her…

Love when she least expects it! She’s not looking to have chemistry with a man who may have family involved in the crime she’s investigating, but that’s exactly what she gets! The plot is intriguing and keeps us guessing from the start trying to figure out who and what is really going on around there. The characters are well developed and though the romance is a tad light, the story flows well and leads to a great conclusion!

Police officer Lyndsay Fairfax certainly isn’t looking to make a romantic connection while she’s on her first undercover assignment in Wallis Point, but she finds it none-the-less! In pursuing leads on a burglary ring, she poses as a tradesmen to get in with the contractors around the area who know the ins and outs of the area houses. That takes her to the local hangout a lot … and face to face with a sexy brooding stranger!

Former marine John Reilly never envisioned himself helping run the family restaurant and bar, yet circumstances and tragedy led to this very place. When a lead puts his little brother on Lyn’s radar with the break-ins, John doesn’t have a clue and continues to believe they are starting a possible relationship. When she is left with no alternative than to turn over the info she knows, will they be able to salvage any part of their friendship … and more … once all is said and done?

Secrets at Seaside
(Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers #5)
by Addison Cole
Sweet Contemporary Romance
Paperback & ebook, 288 pages
October 25th 2017

Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers features a group of fun, flirty, and emotional friends who gather each summer at their Cape Cod cottages. They’re sassy, flawed, and so easy to relate to, you’ll be begging to enter their circle of friends!

Secrets at Seaside by Addison Cole is the sweet edition of New York Times bestselling author Melissa Foster’s steamy romance novel Seaside SecretsThe stories and characters remain the same and convey all of the passion you expect between two people in love, without any explicit scenes or harsh language.

In SECRETS at SEASIDE…

Tony Black is the hottest surfer on the planet. He travels the world throughout the year and spends his summers on Cape Cod with his friends, at the Seaside cottages in Wellfleet, Massachusetts. He’s got his choice of women, but Amy Maples is the one he wants. Fourteen years ago she was his for an entire summer, until a devastating accident changed everything, and what they had seemed like it had never existed—at least for her.

Amy Maples is as consistent as the day is long. She’s spent summers on Cape Cod forever, she always does the right thing, and she’s spent years trying to reclaim the heart of Tony Black, the only man she’s ever loved. She’s back for a summer of fun with her friends at Seaside, only this year she’s been offered the opportunity of a lifetime thousands of miles away, and she’s decided to try one last time to reconnect with Tony. But having a relationship with Tony means dealing with her past—and dealing with her past may knock her to her knees.

EXCERPT:

Amy wanted to believe them and to see what they apparently saw when he looked at her, but she never had. It was the secret memories of being in Tony’s strong arms that long-ago summer, feeling his heart beat against hers, feeling safe and loved, that made her hopeful there would come a day when they’d find themselves there again. But then her mind would travel to the end of those recent nights when she’d had too much to drink and he’d carried her home. When he’d tucked her into bed and gone along his merry way back to his own cottage across the road, quickly dousing her hope for more with cold reality. Whatever they’d had that summer, she’d ruined.

“Exactly, Leanna. That’s why she’s not making a decision about Australia until after this weekend,” Jenna said. “Right, Ames?”

“Yes. That’s my plan. I’m going to talk to Tony, and if he looks me in the eye and says he has no interest in anything more than friendship, then I’m going to take the job. It’s pretty stupid, really, because how many times has he had the opportunity to…you know?” She dropped her eyes to her glass and ran her finger along the rim. Amy was as sweet as Bella was brash, and even thinking about trying to seduce Tony and finding out where his heart really stood had her stomach tied in knots. When her friends had come up with the idea of seducing Tony, she’d fought it, but they’d insisted that once he kissed her, he’d never look back, and she’d grabbed that shred of hope as if it were a brass ring. Now her fingers were slipping a little.

“Talk? That’s not the plan,” Jenna said.

Jessica shook her head. “So, seduction? You’re going to try?”

“If I can muster the courage.” Amy drew in a deep breath, hoping she wouldn’t back out. As much as she wanted closure, the idea of actually hearing Tony tell her that he didn’t see her as anything other than a friend made her almost chicken out. But she didn’t want to chicken out. She had a great job opportunity, and at thirty-two, she was ready to settle down and maybe even start a family. But that thought was even more painful than Tony turning her away.

Tony set a disconcerting stare on Amy as he moved confidently across the floor with the other guys, heading for their table. Her pulse ratcheted up a notch as his eyes went dark and narrow. She broke the connection, grazing over his low-slung jeans and short-sleeve button-down shirt, afraid to try to decipher if it was an angry or an interested look in his eyes. She’d probably see only what she really wanted to see anyway.

Big mistake. Now she was even more nervous.

Several women in the bar turned and watched the four gorgeous men crossing the floor, but Amy knew they had to be looking at Tony. She was held prisoner by his sun-drenched skin, sandy hair that brushed his devilishly long lashes, and squared-off features that amped up his ruggedness and made her pulse go a little crazy. She reached for a glass of liquid courage, having no idea whose it was, and drained it as Tony slid in beside her. His thigh met hers, and his irresistible scent made her hot all over again. She grabbed another glass and drained it, and another, until the glasses were all empty and the nervous stirrings in her stomach stilled.

“Since when did you become Beyoncé?” Tony grumbled.

Beyoncé? Was that good or bad? Amy couldn’t form an answer. All she could think about was that no matter what the outcome, after tonight her life would never be the same

He needs to stop running from his mistakes.

Cowboy or doctor? Sawyer McCord has been wrestling with that question since he came home to the Circle H after fleeing his remote clinic in the Himalayas. A tragedy there has him doubting his medical skills, but his reception on the ranch has been chilly at best. Sawyer can't blame his family—or Olivia Wilson, his brother's ex—for their anger. So why does Olivia's opinion of him suddenly matter so much? Sawyer has unfinished business here and at his clinic. If he's ever going to redeem himself, he needs to start by making amends to the one woman who might never forgive him.

Can you ever come home again? With the third book in her Kansas Cowboys series Leigh Riker brings us Sawyer’s story. He’s suddenly back at the Circle H after years away and struggling to see if he fits in there anymore. The overall tone of the story is forgiveness … it’s hard to do, and easy to refuse but powerful motivators can guide even the most hard-headed person into giving it a try. Olivia is the perfect example … she wasn’t easy to like. She came off as being a fairly cold and rigid person when she thought someone had done her wrong, but love and experience shows her the path to easing her heart. A sweet story!

Sawyer McCord rode off into the sunset of his family ranch in Kansas many years ago and appeared to hardly ever look back. He distanced himself from friends and family alike to take medical care into destitute parts of the Himalayas. Now fleeing from the heartache of tragedy that struck his home away from home, he’s back on the Circle H trying to see if he still fits in. Is he still that doctor that he wanted so much to be, or should he just settle in and enjoy being a cowboy again?

Olivia Wilson is far from happy to see Sawyer arrive back at the ranch. She’s still holding a grudge for his part in a tragedy that occurred there all those years ago. As she spends time around him and sees the pain in his eyes, she reaches out to find out what happened that has him so tortured. Will she be able to help him find peace with the past and look forward to a future?

Is there a special memory that you have about when you decided you wanted to become an author?

Completing my first short story and realising (based on reader feedback) that it was actually pretty good.

Is there a particular author that you remember being the first that drew you into being a fan of the Romance genre?

Jane Austen. I love her heroines because they’re feisty and they follow their own paths, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t fall in love.

If you could visit one place in the world that you have never been, where would it be?

India – I love the vibrant culture

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not writing?

Sewing and pattern making (both doing and teaching) and getting out into nature with my camera and taking photos.

Is there a topic you’ve always wanted to write about that you haven’t had a chance to yet?

The suffrage movement. I’m inspired by the amazing women who risked everything to fight for their (and our) right to vote. I’ll be delving into this subject in my next novel, A pivotal Right.

Any future books or projects that you want to share with us to look forward to?

As I mentioned, the second book in the Shaking the Tree series, A Pivotal Right is my current WIP. I’m looking forward to continuing Jack and Florence’s story against the backdrop of social change in the late nineteenth century.

About the Author

An overwhelming urge to create led Kathy to pursue qualifications in both fashion design and applied design to fabric which were followed by a twenty year career in the fashion and applied arts industries and a crafting habit Martha Stewart would be proud of.

Kathy then discovered a love of teaching and began passing on the skills she’d accumulated over the years—design, pattern-making, sewing, Art Clay Silver, screen-printing and machine embroidery to name a few.

Creative writing started as a self-dare to see if she had the chops to write a manuscript. Kathy’s first novel, Peak Hill, which was developed from that manuscript, was a finalist in the Romance Writers of New Zealand Pacific Hearts Full Manuscript contest in 2016.

Her second novel, Throwing Light was published in February 2017 and her third novel, The Moral Compass is due out in late 2017.

Kathy now squeezes full time study for an advanced diploma in creative writing around writing the sequel to The Moral Compass, teaching sewing and being a wife and mother.
