She needed a miracle.

She got a Texas Ranger.

Vivian Watts's mission to prove her brother's innocence has left her destitute and desperate. So when Texas Ranger Slate Thompson arrives with his knock-me-out blue eyes and belief in her case, she dares to hope again...until her apartment is burned to the ground. Slate offers refuge at his ranch, but when evidence suggests Vivian is being hunted...can he face down the real killer to protect her?

A possible case explodes into more than this Texas Ranger ever expected right before his eyes! With the 2nd book in the Texas Brothers of Company B series, we interact with a few familiar characters from the first book and jaunt off onto another case that leaves us chasing clues and trying to put all of the pieces together. This book is slightly unorthodox in that we know fairly early on who the bad guy is, but the danger and tricks that play out still keep us playing a guessing game on what’s going to happen. Really enjoyed overall, but felt the ending was a little rushed. I would have liked to have seen that play out slightly differently to have a satisfying resolution. Looking forward to more in the series!

Vivian Watts has given up everything and is so broke she’s on the verge of living on the streets in an effort clear her brother of the charge of murder that she just knows he didn’t commit. His trial is fast approaching and she’s just about given up hope that she will find any evidence quickly enough to stop his conviction, but one surprise visit from Texas Ranger Slate Thompson gives her the glimmer of hope she’s needed to keep her spirit to fight up!

Slate should know better than to go off on one of Wade’s hunches, but as soon as he looks at the case he’s shown him, he knows something is suspicious. Is her brother really guilty or is something funny going on at that hospital that seems to be the common denominator between this case and several others that weren’t even known about? When danger seems to be lurking just over Vivian’s shoulder, Slate will stop at nothing to keep her safe … and while he’s at it, they find themselves fighting attraction at every turn!

YOU NEVER FORGET YOUR FIRST LOVE

Jessica Flynn can't wait to buy up that patch of unspoiled North Carolina woodland next door and expand her spa. What could be more sensuous than a hot-tub soak under the stars? Jessica would love to bask in the romantic view herself-but first she needs to find the right man to join her in this fantasy. Back in high school, she thought that was the dark and brooding Mark Dalton. But then he left to join the Special Forces, and when he returned to town, it felt like their teenage love affair had never even happened.

Mark Dalton has his eye on the same property for his own business. Yet there's something he wants to have even more. Because Jessica is sweeter than he remembered, and he's finding it hard to resist his attraction to the competition. When they finally find themselves alone, deep in the forest, nature can't help but run a little wild. But if she ever finds out what he's been hiding all these years, she may never forgive him...

Once in awhile a first love burns so strong that it’s ever-lasting … and this book gives a great story detailing such a situation. It’s sweet, it’s sexy, it’s emotionally charged! If you’ve read the earlier books in this series, you’ll recognize most of the key players and will get an update on some of our favorite couples from the past. The storyline is well-developed with enough strife to keep us on pins and needles about whether they will be able to make a relationship work, but also a great amount of friendship, love and overall general warmth that makes for a close-knit cast of characters. I really enjoyed it!

Spa owner Jessica Flynn is excited to put in an offer on the newly listed piece of property adjacent to her spa! She’s been dreaming of expanding for years, and her opportunity is finally here. She feels like she’s walking around in the clouds until trouble is brought to her attention … the guys at Off-the-Grid Adventures want the property too, and none other than her high school sweetheart himself, Mark Dalton, is standing there with her realtor trying to burst her bubble!

It might have been years since he left Haven, NC, but Mark is still just as attracted to Jessica as he was the day he left her to join the Army. She has basically acted like he doesn’t exist for the last year since he’s been back in town, but now she’s being forced to interact with him. He knows he hurt her, and he also knows he’s not the type of man she needs if she’s looking to settle down … but man, the sparks that tear through him at the slightest touch of her hand tell him he needs to convince her to live it up with him a little!

A K-9 cop must protect a single mom as USA TODAY bestselling author Marie Ferrarella introduces the new Coltons of Red Ridge miniseries

Carson Gage has a crime to solve—the murder of his brother—and his number-one suspect is his archenemy, Serena Colton. The Coltons and Gages have feuded for generations; Carson is convinced the cowgirl is hiding his prime suspect on her ranch. But the beauty and her baby stir unwelcome yearnings in his calloused heart. After all, Carson has learned the hard way what vulnerability can cost. When Serena and her child become targets of a mysterious assailant, Carson’s protective urges take over. Can an irresistible attraction prove stronger than old family hatreds and help them capture a criminal?

Packed full of intrigue! With the first book in a new Colton’s spin-off series, The Colton’s of Red Ridge, Marie Ferrarella weaves in intricate story of secrets and deception that held my attention from start to finish. The characters are easy to like and you find yourself knee deep in wanting to figure out who the criminals they are searching for are. The ending was too abrupt for my liking, but we are left with a great lead-in for more to come in the series … looking forward to it!

When K-9 police detective Carson Gage sets out for a night on the town, the last thing he expects is to be working on solving a murder by the end of the night … especially when the victim is his very own brother! When the clues lead him directly to the door of his family’s rival and particularly to single mom Serena Colton, will he be able to find justice quickly? Is she harboring his number one suspect on her ranch?

Serena Colton can’t believe Carson is showing up demanding to search their home. Who does he think he is? She’ll prove to him that no one is being hidden there, but she doesn’t have to like it! When a new situation arises and an intruder puts Serena and her baby in danger, Carson finds himself risking a lot to keep them safe. When their close contact brings attraction flaring between them, will they dare to cross their family feud lines to attempt to have something together?
