A sexy friends to enemies to lovers story! It was a pleasure to see these characters again and to watch them make their way through their passion and turmoil.

Olivia Kane planned for the perfect wedding day, but instead it all blew up and she’s left sitting alone at the bar drinking away her sorrows! She decides she’s going to take her honeymoon for one and go find some sexy man to while away her heartache!

Flynn Cross might be her brother’s best friend, but he’s also the man that broke her young heart seven years ago and she does NOT want to make nice with him! His interfering ways are getting on her nerves and she just wants him to disappear.

Flynn decides he doesn’t want Olivia throwing herself at some stranger, so he decides to follow her on her honeymoon and offer himself up for a week of all the passion she needs to heal her heart! Liv doesn’t want to forgive him and like him again … but her body finds it hard to resist his touch! When she finds out his role in ruining her wedding, will she turn away from him again?

Book Review WRONG BED REUNION by Candy Sloane

The plot could have been feasible enough, but I just wasn’t feeling it the way it was written. The characters were flat, there was some filler in there that really didn’t do anything for the story, and I just wanted more!

Georgia Cahill is at her 10 year high school reunion with one goal in mind … seduce the quarterback boyfriend she left behind 10 years ago! With some liquid courage behind her, she heads off to slip into his bed, but a key mix up has her pressing herself against the class nerd instead! Before she realizes she’s in the wrong bed, she’s being seduced by a sexy, dirty talking man!

Gideon Neill is only at the reunion to show up his classmates who did nothing but ridicule him back in the day with how successful he is now! When Georgia climbs naked into his bed, he doesn’t realize until way too much groping has gone on that she thinks she’s in bed with someone else!

They definitely feel the pull from their hot encounter for the remainder of the reunion, and eventually agree to help each other out. He is supposed to help her make the quarterback jealous, and she’s got to pretend to be his girlfriend for the deal of a lifetime meeting he has coming up!

Book Review HIS TO PROTECT by Stacey Lynn

A sexy hot guy shows his tender side when his protective streak comes out blazing! Really great characters!

Declan James swore off women as anything but a quick release when his wife left him to handle their struggling business on his own several months ago. He’s not looking to complicate his life at all, but that is exactly what happens when he happens upon a woman and her dog digging through the dumpster in the alley behind his restaurant!

Katrina Morgenson finally got up the guts to leave her abusive husband after one too many trips to the ER. She’s struggling to survive and is just cutting some corners to feed her hungry dog when Declan comes upon her. He offers her help without strings as soon as he realizes what’s going on.

As Trina leans more on Declan and starts to trust him, he shows her how a real man treats a lady. Will he be able to keep her safe when her ex tracks her down?

Even with her nostrils flared, Merina forced a smile. There was only one way past this gatekeeper. She called up an ounce of poise—an ounce being the most she could access at the moment. “Merina Van Heusen to see Reese Crane.”

“Ms. Van Heusen,” the woman said, her tone flat, her eyes going to the doorknob in Merina’s hand. “You’re here regarding the changes to the hotel, I presume.”

“You got it,” Merina said, barely harnessing her anger. How come everyone was so damn calm about dismantling a town landmark?

“Have a seat.” Crane’s bulldog gestured one manicured hand at a group of cushy white chairs, her mouth frowning in disgust as she took in Merina’s dishevelment. “Perhaps I could fetch you a towel first.”

“I won’t be sitting.” She wasn’t about to be put in her place by Reese’s underling. Then her prayers were answered as the set of gleaming wooden doors behind the secretary’s desk parted like the Red Sea.

Jackpot.

Merina barreled forward as the woman at the desk barked, “Excuse me!”

Merina ignored her. She wouldn’t be delayed another second…or so she thought. She stopped short when a woman in a very tight red dress, the neckline plunging into plentiful cleavage, her heels even higher and potentially more expensive than Merina’s Louboutins, swept out of the office and gave her a slow, mascaraed blink back. Then she sashayed around Merina, past the bulldog, and left behind a plume of perfume.

Interesting.

Reese’s latest date? An escort? If Merina believed the local tabloids, one and the same. Paying for dates certainly wasn’t above his pay grade.

Before the doors closed, she slipped into Reese’s office.

“Ms. Van Heusen!” came a bark behind her, but Reese, who stood facing the windows and looking out upon downtown, said three words that instantly shut his secretary up.

“She’s fine, Bobbie.”

Merina smirked back at the sour-faced, coal-eyed secretary as Reese’s office doors whooshed shut.

“Merina, I presume.” Reese still hadn’t turned. His posture was straight, jacket and slacks impeccably tailored to his muscular, perfectly proportioned body. Shark or not, the man could wear a suit. She’d seen the photos of him in the Trib as well as Luxury Stays, the hotel industry’s leading trade magazine, and like every other woman in Chicago, she hadn’t missed the gossip about him online. Like his more professional photos, his hands were sunk into his pant pockets, and his wavy, dark hair was styled and perfect.

Clearly the woman who had just left was here on other business…or past business. If something more clandestine was going on, Reese would appear more mussed. Then again, he probably didn’t muss his hair during sex. From what she gleaned about him via the media, Reese probably didn’t allow his hair to muss.

The snarky thought paired with a vision of him out of that suit, stalking naked and primed, golden muscles shifting with each long-legged step. Sharp, navy eyes focused only on her…

He turned to face her and she snapped out of her imaginings and blinked at the stubble covering a perfectly angled jaw. What was it about that hint of dishevelment on his otherwise perfect visage that made her breath catch?

Thick dark brows jumped slightly as his eyes zoomed in on her chest.

She sneered before venturing a glance down at her sodden silk shirt. Where she saw the perfect outline of both nipples. A tinge of heat lit her cheeks, and she crossed her arms haughtily, glaring at him as best she could while battling embarrassment.

“Seems this April morning is colder than you anticipated,” he drawled.

Thank you for hosting me on your blog, Lynn, and for all your wonderful support of Harlequin Heartwarming. I’m thrilled to be here!

We all know you are a dog lover … tell us about your babies!

Oh, my gosh! How much time do you (and the readers of your blog) have?!?!

My husband and I met because of our love of dogs and . . . well . . . because of the dogs we loved. Our blended family consisted of our Alaskan Malamute, Casper, German Shepherd, Kylie, and yellow Labrador Retriever, Buster.

It was heart wrenching when we had to say goodbye to them one-by-one. We didn’t think we were ready to add to our family again, but two young black Labs proved us wrong.

They came into our lives unplanned. They were fourteen and sixteen months respectively when we first met them, intelligent and with great temperaments. They’d been held back by the breeder for show and breeding, but she’d decided to sell them. Looking into their adoring chocolate-brown eyes, we knew instantly that their forever-home would be with us.

It was my editor, Paula Eykelhof, who first commented on how wonderful it was that we had brought these rescue dogs into our lives. I protested that they weren’t rescue dogs. After all, they’d been cared for and never abused. But, as with most things, Paula was right. Having lived their entire lives in kennels, their behaviors told their own story, as we gradually introduced them to the big wide world.

I have never crated a dog before, but Harley and Logan needed the comfort and security. Over two years later, they still love to spend time in their kennels, but they prefer to curl up, or stretch out, together in one kennel.

They have their own cushy beds in our bedroom, but still tend to share one. And, yes, they like to sleep on their backs . . . or on top of each other.

And during the day, they seek out the warmth of the sunshine and snuggle.

Logan can’t bear to be without us and would love to be able to curl up in our laps.

Harley sees a butterfly (or anything resembling one) and a little switch trips in his head and all else ceases to exist in his world. We’ve had to install a fence at the back of our property, where there is a steep incline, to keep him from running over it!

Logan’s need to be close has resulted in a damaged laptop screen. (I’ll spare you the details!)

Yes, that’s a tooth mark on the left middle.

Harley’s predilection for chasing butterflies has caused more than a few trampled perennials.

Harley and Logan have come so far in the years they have been with us, and continue to delight us each and every day. A computer screen is easily replaced and perennials grow back, but the unconditional love and affection they bring into our lives is limitless and unparalleled.

Is there a particular author that you remember being the first that drew you into being a fan of the Romance genre?

I have to say that (although not strictly romance) I love Nora Roberts’s books. I just finished The Obsession, and (please refer to the above question about my love of dogs) my favorite character in the book is Tag, the dog. He even has a pivotal role in the conclusion of the book! 🙂

If you could visit one place in the world that you have never been, where would it be?

I love to travel, and I have been fortunate to have visited and lived in some wonderful places. I have not been to the South Pacific yet, and I would love to visit Bora Bora. It might be where my husband and I celebrate our tenth anniversary next year!

And speaking of travel … any exciting plans for the summer?

When the weather is nice in Ontario, we like to stay relatively close to home. This is a picture of my view right now, as I type my responses to your questions.

We tend to do most of our leisure travel when the weather is inclement in Ontario. The next trip we have booked right now is to St. Lucia with friends from Texas to celebrate our ninth anniversary. Of course, I will be in San Diego in July for RWA 2016!

What projects do we have to look forward to with you?

Mid-June, I submitted the manuscript for my next release, which will likely be the first book in a mini-series set in a small town in the Adirondack Mountains region, the heroine’s home being loosely based on our cottage in Ontario (please see picture below).

For readers who enjoyed my K-9 trilogy, here’s a nice little surprise! When I submitted my most recent proposal to Harlequin, they added an extra book to my contract. It will be the fourth book in the K-9 trilogy! I suppose we’ll have to start calling it the “K-9 series!” It’s the story of rookie K-9 officer, Shannon Clemens, and her rookie police service dog, Darwin, both of whom readers will have a chance to get to know a little in When I Found You!

What is the most recent movie that you went to the theater to see?

I have to be honest that I prefer to read over watching movies, but my husband and I went with close friends to see X-Men: Apocalypse.

In this sexy fun novella, we learn the back story for the beginning of how the ASSIGNMENT: Caribbean Nights series former SEAL characters wound up starting their tourist business in the Caribbean.

Charlie St. Croix needs some downtime during his two week leave from the Navy, so he heads to a resort owned by a buddy of his in the Caribbean. He’s going to relax and decide whether to reenlist when this tour is over, and find some sexy company along the way. Little does he know he’ll find her on his first excursion of his vacation!

Sexy redhead Audra Reed catches his eye, and it turns out she enjoys being caught! She’s a self-proclaimed adrenaline junkie happy to enjoy some of the activities the resort has to offer … and hot to take Charlie up on the after hours fun he wants to share as well!

Book Review HIGH HOPES by Sue Lilley

A fun read! It’s a fairly serious book, but there are a lot of laughs in it as well when she meets a new friend on her journey to setting things right!

Grace Cavendish is blown away when she’s contacted 20 years later by the daughter she gave up for adoption at birth. She was a broke college student, and she was conceived during a drunken one night with a good friend who got back together with his girlfriend the next day. She had never told Sam she even got pregnant that night because she didn’t want to come between he and Dixie.

She travels for a visit with the plan to tell Sam and Dixie the truth about the child, because she’s asking about her birth father, but the longer she’s there, the harder it gets to tell them. They have some turmoil going on in their life right now, and Grace is also at a changing point in her life, so she’s terrified they will never forgive her and she’ll be without her two best friends.

When life changing things happen on this trip, how will it all play out? Will Sam and Dixie forgive her, will they forgive each other for the secrets they have held, and what will the future hold for them all?

Book Review ALWAYS MY GIRL by Samantha Chase

In Book 3 of Samantha Chase’s The Shaughnessy Brothers series, she brings us Quinn’s story. I love this family! They are always there for each other through thick and thin. I found it hard to love Quinn quite as much as I did Hugh when I read Book 2, but I still enjoyed the story a lot!

Quinn Shaughnessy has always been sure of himself and what he wants out of life and he enjoys having a good time. He’s happy for his older brothers that they have found love and seem happy, but it’s not for him!

Anna Hannigan has been best friends with Quinn since they were 5 years old. They tell each other everything, always have each others backs and have no secrets … well, except that Anna has been in love with him for years! She finally decides she has wasted too much time life waiting around on him and makes some changes in her life. Quinn isn’t happy to see Anna distancing herself or changing how she dresses, and he hates the possibility of her dating someone even less!

Happenstance gets them to take a chance on each other and become more than friends, but will they be able to make it last despite their differences?
